Dieses Buch bietet eine Einführung in das Informationsmanagement in kommentierter Form. Es richtet sich in erster Linie an Studierende der Betriebswirtschaftslehre und der Wirtschaftsinformatik.
Der erste Teil des Buches gibt einen einführenden Überblick über die grundlegende Begriffe und Ansätze des Informationsmanagements. Es wird ein Modell des Informationsmanagements vorgestellt, auf dessen Basis die Aufgaben des Informationsmanagements in den folgenden Kapiteln vertieft werden. Der zweite Teil widmet sich der Informationswirtschaft und behandelt Informationsnachfrage und -angebot. Im dritten Teil des Buches werden die betrieblichen Informationssysteme mit ihren grundlegenden Bausteinen Daten und Prozesse thematisiert. Der vierte Teil gibt einen Überblick über Anwendungssysteme für die Produktion und die Aufgaben des Managements der Informations- und Kommunikationstechnik. Die Digitalisierung von Produktionsprozessen schreitet mit einer hohen Intensität voran. Weiterbildung hat eine hohe Relevanz für betriebliche Transformationsprozesse. Die betriebliche Weiterbildungspraxis ist den aktuellen Herausforderungen der Digitalisierung jedoch nicht gewachsen. Herausforderungen sind Kompetenzlücken der Mitarbeiter, ungewisse Anforderungsprofile und Tätigkeitstypen, demographischer Wandel sowie veraltete didaktische Ansätze. Zudem wird bestehender inhaltlicher und pädagogischer Freiraum bei der Gestaltung von Weiterbildung oftmals nur unzureichend ausgenutzt. Die skizzierte Situation führt dazu, dass der Mehrwert gegenwärtiger Qualifizierungsangebote sowohl für Unternehmen als auch Beschäftigte nicht ausgeschöpft wird. Ausgehend von Veränderungen durch Digitalisierung in der Produktion und deren Auswirkungen auf die Kompetenzentwicklung diskutiert dieser Beitrag Herausforderungen gegenwärtiger betrieblicher Weiterbildung. Er leitet Handlungsempfehlungen ab, die mithilfe von Beispielen gewerkschaftlich unterstützter Weiterbildungspraxis illustriert werden. Im Ergebnis erhalten Interessierte einen Überblick über gegenwärtige Herausforderungen und Handlungsempfehlungen für die Gestaltung und Durchführung von Weiterbildung in Zeiten der Digitalisierung.
Wodurch zeichnen sich die besten ERP-Systeme aus? Diese Frage wird dem Autor dieses Beitrags immer wieder gestellt. Mit der Vorstellung der Balanced ERP Scorecard (BESC) besteht nun eine Möglichkeit, ein System aus verschiedenen Perspektiven zu bewerten und so individuell zu einer Einschätzung des für eine konkrete Unternehmenssituation besten Systems zu gelangen. Daher beschreibt dieser Beitrag zunächst die Perspektiven der BESC und dann mögliche Kriterien für eine Ausgestaltung dieser Scorecard.
Die Branche der Dienstleistungsunternehmen (Professional Services) hat einige Anforderungen, die sie von den „klassischen“ ERP-Branchen Industrie und Handel unterscheidet. Dieser Beitrag beschreibt einige der aktuellen Herausforderungen dieses immer wichtiger werdenden Wirtschaftszweigs und geht dann am Beispiel eines mittelständischen Ingenieurdienstleisters auf typische Anforderungen dieser Branche, infrage kommende Systeme und das Vorgehen zur Auswahl ein.
Die Orientierung am Kunden und dessen individuellen Wünschen ist heutzutage von großer Bedeutung. Mit Hilfe eines Produktkonfigurationssystems ist es möglich, Produkte nach bestimmten Regeln aus bestimmten Bauteilen virtuell zu entwickeln [1] und somit die gewünschten Leistungsmerkmale der Kunden auf ihre Durchführbarkeit hin zu überprüfen. In der vorliegenden Marktuntersuchung wurden die Leistungsfähigkeit von Konfiguratoren sowohl in ERP-/PPS-Systemen als auch als Stand-alone-Lösung untersucht und darauf überprüft, inwiefern sie zur Bewältigung komplexer und variantenreicher Produktgestaltungsaufgaben geeignet sind.
Mittelständische Industrieunternehmen setzen für ihre betrieblichen Abläufe Planungs- und Ausführungssysteme ein. Aufgrund der Turbulenzen auf Absatz- und Beschaffungsmärkten kann die Wirtschaftlichkeit und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit dieser Unternehmen nur durch permanente Anpassungen der Organisationsstrukturen und -abläufe erfolgen. In der Praxis zeigt sich eine unzureichende technologische Anpassungsfähigkeit der heute eingesetzten Standardsoftwaresysteme. Diese lassen zwar während der Einführungsphase vielfältige Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten zu, Veränderungen im laufenden Betrieb sind aber meist nur mit großem Aufwand möglich. Hier sind die Softwarehersteller in Zukunft zunehmend gefordert, wandlungsfähige Auftragsabwicklungssysteme zu entwickeln. Über die Entwicklungsphase (Build-Time) hinaus muss auch parallel zur Betriebsphase (Run-Time) der technische Fortschritt aufgrund von geänderten Anforderungen durch entsprechende Softwarereleases synchronisiert werden.

Diese Marktstudie vermittelt einen Überblick über Software, die zur Unterstützung von Wissensmanagement eingesetzt werden kann und berücksichtigt dabei die Spannweite von spezialisierten Suchmaschinen bis zu umfassenden integrierten Wissensmanagementsystemen. Die untersuchte Software bietet sowohl Unterstützung bei Community-orientierten Wissensmanagementansätzen als auch bei Information Retrieval. Die Einsatzmöglichkeiten sind genauso unterschiedlich wie die heterogenen Anforderungen von Unternehmen und Organisationen, die diese an Wissensmanagement stellen. Eine direkte Vergleichbarkeit aller untersuchten Softwareprodukte ist daher nicht sinnvoll.
CO₂-Fußabdrücke sind ein aktuell viel diskutiertes Thema mit weitreichenden Implikationen für Individuen als auch Unternehmen. Firmen können einen proaktiven Beitrag zur Transparenz leisten, indem der unternehmens- oder produktbezogene CO₂-Fußabdruck ausgewiesen wird. Ist der Entschluss gefasst einen CO₂-Fußabdruck auszuweisen und die entstehenden Treibhausgase zu erfassen, existiert eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Normen und Zertifikate, wie die publicly available specification 2050, das Greenhouse Gas Protokoll oder die ISO 14067. Das Ziel dieses Beitrags ist es, diese drei Normen zur Berechnung des produktbezogenen CO₂-Fußabdrucks zu vergleichen, um Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede sowie Vor- und Nachteile in der Anwendung aufzuzeigen. Die Übersicht soll Unternehmen bei der Entscheidungsfindung hinsichtlich der Eignung eines CO₂-Fußabdrucks für ihr Unternehmen unterstützen.
Bei Entscheidungen über abzulösende oder neue Anwendungssysteme kann mit Hilfe funktionaler Anforderungen immer nur der gegenwärtige oder vorhersehbare Bedarf ermittelt werden. In einem turbulenten Umfeld sind die Anwendungssysteme jedoch häufig langere Zeit im Einsatz als die Anforderungen gültig sind, mit Hilfe derer sie ausgewählt wurden. An der Universität Potsdam wird im Rahmen des BMBF-Projektes CHANGE eine Vorgehensweise zur Ermittlung der Zukunftsfähigkeit unternehmensweiter Anwendungssysteme entwickelt, deren wesentliche Merkmale in diesem Beitrag beschrieben werden.
