Theodor Fontanes berühmte "Wanderungen durch die Mark Brandenburg" haben nicht nur einen großen Teil zur touristischen und literarischen Erschließung der Mark Brandenburg beigetragen, sondern auch nahezu ein eigenes Genre an Spurensuchenden und Nachwanderern begründet. In den Regalen gängiger Buchhandlungen finden sich immer wieder „Wanderungen nach Fontane“, Wandernde „unterwegs mit Fontane“ oder – wie erst kürzlich im März 2014 erschienen – "Wir sind jetzt hier. Neue Wanderungen durch die Mark Brandenburg" von Björn Kuhligk und Tom Schulz.
Dabei stellt sich die Frage: Wie wird heute, fast 150 Jahre nach Fontanes Wanderungen, die Natur als Landschaft in „neuen“ Wanderungen „neu“ verhandelt? Der Schwerpunkt dieser Fragestellung liegt dabei auf den literarischen Vermittlungsformen beider Werke; darauf, wie die Natur als Landschaft vermittelt und wie das in ihr Gesehene und Erlebte in den Texten poetisiert wird.
Bearbeitet wird die Fragestellung anhand einer Analyse der literarischen Vermittlung von Naturräumen. Die Betrachtung Fontanescher Charakteristika der Vermittlung und Literarisierung von Natur basiert in erster Linie auf der umfangreichen Forschungsliteratur. Eigene Beobachtungen aus den "Neuen Wanderungen" werden dieser gegenüber gestellt.
Aus der Zusammenstellung der so gewonnenen Eindrücke können abschließend Erkenntnisse darüber formuliert werden, inwiefern sich „alte“ und „neue“ Wanderungen ähneln und welche neuen Tendenzen die Gegenwartsliteratur aufweist.

"'Es mag unrealistisch klingen, aber ich könnte nicht länger in den Humanities unterrichten, wenn ich nicht daran glauben würde, dass am New Yorker Ende – das metonymisch für das verteilende Ende als solches steht – die Lehrende versuchen kann, Wünsche unerzwungen neu anzuordnen, nämlich durch den Versuch, bei der Studierenden die Gewohnheit literarischen Lesens oder auch einfach nur „Lesens“ zu entwickeln, bei dem man sich selbst in den Text des Anderen aussetzt [suspending]. Die erste Voraussetzung und zugleich Folge wäre ein Aussetzen [suspension] der Überzeugung, dass ich selbst zwangsläufig besser bin, zwangsläufig unentbehrlich bin, zwangsläufig diejenige bin, die Unrecht richtet, zwangsläufig das Endprodukt bin, um dessentwillen Geschichte geschah, und schließlich, dass New York zwangsläufig die Hauptstadt der Welt ist.'
Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak schreibt diese Worte für die prestigeträchtige Oxford Amnesty Lecture Series „Human Rights, Human Wrongs“ – und es ist kein Zufall, dass gerade dieser Anlass Spivak herausfordert, explizit wie selten ihre Grundhaltung zu exponieren. Als eine der meistrezipierten Pionierinnen der postcolonial theory zu internationalem Ansehen gekommen wird Spivak nun eine komplizierte Ehre zuteil: Sie ist an einen Ort geladen, der sich – im ‚besten‘ (neo-)kolonialen Verständnis – noch immer gerne als ein intellektuelles Zentrum der Welt betrachtet – und soll sprechen. ..."

"Vor 50 Jahren sah Theodor W. Adorno ‚Theorie‘ in einer prekären Lage – ausgerechnet in einer Phase also, auf die wir heute nostalgisch als ihre Hochzeit zurückblicken. In diese Lage sei sie gebracht worden durch eine „Ungeduld, welche die Welt verändern will, ohne sie zu interpretieren“, wie er kurz vor seinem Tod in Überlegungen zu seiner Position gegenüber der aktivistischen ’68er-Student*innenschaft festhält. Heute ist uns dieser Zusammenhang fremd, da wir geneigt sind, mit der gleichen Nostalgie, die unseren Blick auf die Hochzeit der Theorie prägt, widerständigen Aktivismus herbeizusehnen. Die „Resignation vor der Realität“, gegen die Adorno sich verteidigt, scheint sich zu einem
allgemeinen Charakteristikum der Gegenwart ausgeweitet zu haben. Angesichts dessen läuft Theorie Gefahr, als doppelte Resignation gebrandmarkt zu werden, geht ihre vermeintliche Abgewandtheit von der Welt doch mit einer Hinwendung zu vergangenem Denken einher, die sie unausweichlich anachronistisch erscheinen lässt. ..."
Der Artikel arbeitet an Platons Gastmahl ein semantisches Netz rund um das Konzept des ‚Berührens‘ heraus. Dabei bildet das Verb ἅπτομαι ein zentrales Relais, das zwischen dem vieldiskutierten ‚philosophischen Gehalt‘ des Textes und der in ihrem performativen Beitrag meist unterschätzten Rahmenhandlung vermittelt. Im Nachvollzug der Konstellationen des Berührens zeigt sich, dass dem Berühren, als Berühren, nicht begrifflich beizukommen ist – es entzieht sich dem aneignenden Zugriff. Berühren ist eben nicht Begriff. Deshalb muss sich das Gastmahl der Berührung auf andere Weise nähern, nämlich berührend – wofür die narratologische Konstruktion des Textes von entscheidender Wichtigkeit ist. Er praktiziert Philo-Logie, d.h. nutzt die Macht der Worte, die genau daraus entsteht, dass sie in einer sehr präzisen Weise zwischen den Beteiligten aus einer konstitutiven Distanz heraus wirken.

Feministisches Spekulieren

Es ist eines der zentralen feministischen Anliegen, die realitätskonstituierende Wirkmacht von Narrationen für die Vorstellung von Geschichte und Gegenwart ernst zu nehmen. Während ab den 1960er-Jahren Science-Fiction-Autor*innen das Spekulative zum Imaginieren und Fabulieren von Post-race und Post-Gender-Welten nutzten, zeichnet sich seit einiger Zeit eine Veränderung in der feministischen Bezugnahme auf das Spekulative ab. Autor*innen wie Donna J. Haraway, Saidiya Hartman und Anna L. Tsing schlagen das Fabulative und Spekulative für eine andere Sicht auf das Jetzt und Hier vor, um sich der Komplexität von Klimawandel, Anthropozän und Dekolonisierung anzunehmen. Statt eine geschlossene Erzählung über etwas zu erzeugen, zeichnen sich die verschiedenen Unternehmungen feministischen Spekulierens durch besondere Modi der Situierung, Relationalität, Verantwortung und Offenheit aus.
Der Band verfolgt eine Theorie- und Diskursgeschichte feministischer Genealogien, die ein besonderes Augenmerk auf Fragen der spekulativen Narrationen und Zeitlichkeiten legen. Dabei werden Autor*innen wie Luce Irigaray, Ursula K. Le Guin oder Hélène Cixous wieder- und neugelesen sowie Fragen nach dem kritischen Potenzial des Möglichen und Spekulativen für die Gegenwart aufgeworfen.
