imaginatio oder inventio

Der Aufsatz analysiert die Begriffe der imaginatio und inventio und deren Verhältnis zueinander in den Poetiken von George Puttenham („Arte of English Poesie“, 1589), Philip Sidney („Defense of Poetry“, 1595) und William Temple („Analysis tractationis de poesi“, um 1595). Anders als zu erwarten wird in allen drei Fällen das dichterische Vermögen nicht im Sinne eines modernen Begriffs von kreativer Phantasie gedeutet. Weil der Begriff der imaginatio eine gefährliche Nähe zu den Wahnvorstellungen eines Verrückten impliziert, es Puttenham und Sidney aber vor allem um eine soziale Aufwertung der Dichtung als einer höfisch angemessenen Tätigkeit geht, wird der Begriff der imaginatio nur in einem sehr eingeschränkten Sinne verwendet. Das impliziert auch eine Ablehnung des Begriffs eines Enthusiasmus oder furor poeticus, also einer göttlichen Inspiration des Dichters, wie er insbesondere mit dem Neuplatonismus Ficinos assoziiert wurde.
Die „Poetica“ Tommaso Campanellas ist Ausdruck einer starken Rationalisierung und didaktischer Instrumentalisierung der Dichtung. Diese Rationalisierung kann als Reaktion auf die Inspirationstheorien von Marsilio Ficino und Pietro Pomponazzi erklärt werden, die beide (mit je ganz unterschiedlichen Begründungen) den poetischen Enthusiasmus neben die Offenbarungen des Propheten gestellt und damit den ausschließlichen Offenbarungsanspruch der Prophetie herausgefordert hatten.

Die vorliegende Magisterarbeit geht von der Kernthese aus, dass ein zweckgebundenes Charakteristikum von Casuallyrik in der Frühen Neuzeit darin besteht, „dass Körperbilder als theoretisch-modellhafte Entitäten, als Katalysatoren und Gegenstand eines Repräsentations-diskurses“ in den Texten identifiziert werden können. Die Analyse geht von der „Frage nach der Funktionsweise und den rhetorisch geschaffenen imaginären Vorstellungen von Körper“ aus und nimmt dabei auch die Zweckgebundenheit dieser literarischen Textsorte, den rhetorischen ‚Bauplan’ und die sozialgeschichtlich-anthropologischen Konzepte ‚Repräsentation’ und ‚Körper’ in den Blick. Da ein literaturwissenschaftlich nutzbares Repräsentationskonzept bisher nicht eingeführt ist, geht es nicht zuletzt um die methodisch angemessene Installierung dieses Ansatzes für die literaturwissenschaftliche Arbeit durch eine interdisziplinäre Verknüpfung der Textwissenschaften mit Aspekten der Kunstgeschichte, der Ästhetik, der allgemeinen und Landesgeschichte sowie der Staatstheorie, Philosophie und Theologie. Vier Epicedien (Trauer-, Grab- und Trostgedicht) aus dem hinterlassenen Werk von Johann von Besser bilden die Basis für dieses Vorgehen. Vor dem Hintergrund der Ideengeschichte (M. Foucault), der Zeichentheorie, der Sozialgeschichte, der Historischen Anthropologie, der Körpertheorie und anderen methodischen Ansätzen werden sowohl Repräsentation und Körper als auch Körper und literarischer (nach rhetorischem Bauplan ‚produzierter’) Text zueinander geordnet. Auf dieser Grundlage werden andere Bereiche des Diskurses angewählt, etwa die Relation zwischen Repräsentation und Zeremoniell, die latente ‚Entkörperlichung’ als prozessuales Resultat der gesellschaftlich-restriktiven Kommunikation (Affektdebatte) oder die Bedeutung des wahrnehmenden Blicks und des bewussten Sehens im Sinne einer Spiegelung des Wahrgenommenen und einer im Ergebnis gedoppelten Repräsentation. Das Ziel der Arbeit erreicht die Bereitstellung von aus der Analyse extrahierten Inhalten des körperlichen Repräsentationsdiskurses. Diese Inhalte stellen sich als problematisierbare Bestandteilsgruppen des Foucault’schen innersten Gesetzes repräsentationsdiskursiver Ordnungen dar und bilden in sich abgrenzbare Analyseeinheiten im Sinne von Desiderata weiterer Arbeiten auf diesem Gebiet.
Bei dieser Publikation handelt es sich um ein Kompendium, gedacht als Selbststudienliteratur für linguistische Grundkurse und Einführungsveranstaltungen zur deutschen Sprache der Gegenwart. Im Mittelpunkt der Darstellung stehen jene Sprachformen des Deutschen, die sich in verschiedenen Kommunikationsbereichen (privater Alltag, Kunst, Wissenschaft, Bürokratie, Journalismus, Werbung) herausgebildet haben. In jedem dieser Bereiche hat die Sprache eine spezifische Funktion, d. h. einen anderen gesellschaftlichen Zweck. Funktionale Varietäten sind dementsprechend zweckbestimmte, kommunikationsbereichsbezogene Teilsprachen einer Einzelsprache. Traditionell werden sie auch Funktionalstile genannt. Das Kompendium umfasst zwei Hauptteile. An die Vermittlung theoretischer Grundlagen schließen sich Beschreibungsprotokolle an, die zu jeder funktionalen Varietät (Alltags-, Dichter-, Wissenschafts-, Behörden-, Presse- und Werbesprache) Auskunft geben über • die kommunikative Hauptleistung der Varietät, • die kommunikativen Rahmenbedingungen ihrer Verwendung, • ihre Bindung an kommunikative Gattungen (Text- und Gesprächssorten) und • ihr sprachliches Erscheinungsbild. Eingegangen wird auch auf Abgrenzungsfragen, so z. B. auf das Verhältnis von Alltagssprache und Umgangssprache, von Dichtersprache und Literatursprache, von Pressesprache und Mediensprache. Die Protokolle verzeichnen darüber hinaus Zusatzliteratur, die für ein vertiefendes Studium zu empfehlen ist
Der Beitrag zeigt in einem ersten Schritt, dass die "Absurda comica" ein theologisches Gleichnis darstellt, in dem der König die Rolle Gottes, Pickelhäring die Rolle des Teufels und die Handwerker die Rolle des Menschen übernehmen. Schlüssel für dieses Gleichnis ist Lk 9.60 und Mt 8.22, wo Christus von seinen Jüngern fordert, "die Toten ihre Toten begraben zu lassen", d.h. sich vom Reich der Welt abzuwenden. Auf die "Absurda comica" übertragen, besagt dies, dass die Handwerker die Rollenhaftigkeit und die Narrheit ihrer Existenz erkennen müssen, wenn sie vor Gott gerechtfertigt werden wollen. In einem zweiten Schritt wird gezeigt, dass die "Absurda comica" als ein solches Gleichnis in der Tradition der Fastnachtspiele steht, deren Funktion eben dieser Aufweis der menschlichen Narrheit war. Das protestantische Schuldrama trat dabei bewusst in die Tradition dieser Fastnachtspiele, wie sich gerade an der "Absurda comica" zeigen lässt. In einem dritten Schritt wird diese These in einem Vergleich mit Jacob Masens "Rusticus imperans" und Christian Weises "Tobias und die Schwalbe" bestätigt.
