Vorwort: Der Fortschritt der Menschheit ist eng mit der Wissensentwicklung verbunden. Das Wissen wächst ständig und mit wachsender Geschwindigkeit im Verlaufe der Geschichte an. Bei der Erweiterung des Wissens baut jede Generation auf dem der vorigen auf. Die Weitergabe des Wissens von einer zur anderen Generation (Lehren und Lernen) ist demzufolge eine wichtige Voraussetzung für den Wissensfortschritt. In Hochkulturen übernimmt die Schule diese Aufgabe. Lehren wird zur Profession und Lernen zu einer gesellschaftlich hoch sanktionierten Aufgabe. Unterricht, d.h. die institutionalisiert organisierte und auf die Aneignung von menschlicher Kultur gerichtete Wechselwirkung von Lernen und Lehren, bildet das Zentrum des schulischen Lebens der Kinder und im Idealfall auch ihrer Lehrer. Das Ziel unserer Forschung besteht darin, einen Beitrag zur Erhöhung der Qualität von Unterricht im Sinne eines effizienten Wissenstransfers zwischen den Generationen und im Hinblick auf seine entwicklungsördernde Wirkung zu leisten. Ausgehend von der Tatsache, daß der Wissenstransfer an die Aktivität auf seiten der Lernenden (Lernen als aktiver Prozeß der Wissenskonstruktion) aber auch der Lehrenden (Lehrertätigkeit) gebunden ist, konzentrierten wir unsere Untersuchungen auf die Interaktion zwischen Lernen und Lehren im Unterricht. Nur im Rahmen dieser Interaktion können sowohl Lehrer als auch Schüler gleichzeitig (wechselwirkend in gemeinsamer Tätigkeit) Subjekte ihrer eigenen Tätigkeit, also aktiv sein. Und nur in der Interaktion können sie als solche untersucht werden und kann der Unterricht selbst als wirkunsvolle Bedingung und Resultat ihrer Aktivität in den Fokus der Forschung rücken. Im vorliegenden Band werden vor allem verschiedene Unterrichtsstrategien, die je unterschiedliche Art und Weise der Interaktion (Wechselwirkung) zwischen Lernen und Lehren diskutiert und im Hinblick auf ihre Wirkungen auf Lernergebnisse und die vor allem kognitive Entwicklung der Kinder untersucht. Hierzu wurden z.T. in anderen Zusammenhängen publizierte Studien neu bearbeitet und durch einige weitere, bisher nicht veröffentlichte Arbeiten ergänzt. Ich werde insgesamt bemüht sein zu zeigen, wie in der Vergangenheit (DDR) und in der Gegenwart in vor allem Brandenburger Schulen versucht wurde bzw. wird, die Aufgabe eines effizienten Wissenstransfers und einer wirkungsvollen Enwicklungsförderung im Unterricht zu realisieren. Unsere Untersuchungen belegen jedoch, daß es gerade bei diesen beiden Aufgaben noch erhebliche, zum Teil anwachsende Probleme zu bewältigen gibt. Dies stiftet ein wirksames Motiv, die Bemühungen zu verstärken, nach neuen, evtl. besseren Unterrichtsstrategien zu suchen, die in der Lage sind, jene in der Vergangenheit und Gegenwart im Unterricht zu beobachtenden Probleme einer Lösung zuzuführen. Wir meinen, in der Unterrichtsstrategie des "Entwicklungsfördernden Unterrichts" Ansätze dafür gefunden zu haben, bei der Lösung der Probleme des effizienten Wissenstransfers und einer wirkungsvollen Entwicklungsförderung im Unterricht voranzukommen. Diese Unterrichtsstrategie wird diskutiert und ihre Effizienz anhand einiger Untersuchungsdaten wahrscheinlich gemacht. Darüber hinaus soll in diesem Kontext anhand einer Reihe von Untersuchungen ausführlicher auf Probleme der Evaluation des Unterrichts eingegangen werden. Wenngleich sich alle hier dargestellten Untersuchungen vor allem auf den Sachunterricht beziehen, sind ihre Ergebnisse insofern weitreichender, als sie auch generelle, vom Unterrichtsfach unabhängige, Tendenzen des Unterrichts, des Lernens und Lehrens und ihrer Wechselwirkung, erfassen.

Der vorliegende Band 23 der Reihe "LLF-Berichte" des Zentrums für Lehrerbildung der Universität Potsdam enthält eine Zusammenschau der Evaluation des Projektes Reinventing Education . Web 2.0 Tools to foster Teacher Collaboration in Brandenburg ONLIFE / Online-Lehrerzusammenarbeit zur Förderung der Individualisierung des Lernens an Schulen. Die Evaluation des Projektes umfasste den Zeitraum 2006-2008. Der vorliegende Band stellt die beiden Hauptphasen aus 2007 und 2008 ausführlich dar. Die Erkenntnisse dieses Projektes haben Modellcharakter für analoge Projekte in der Bundesrepublik und regen zu einem Erfahrungsaustausch zur online-gestützen Lehrerzusammenarbeit auf Bundesebene an.
