Mobilität ist eine der Schlüsselerfahrungen unserer Zeit. Sie scheint im Gefolge technisch-ökonomischer und politisch-sozialer Veränderungen allumfassend geworden zu sein. Dabei verändern die Erfahrungen, die Menschen in und mit Mobilität machen, auch die Funktion und den Stellenwert ihrer Kulturen. Durch die anhaltende Mobilität werden Kulturen aus ihren traditionellen nationalen Verankerungen gelöst (werden also selbst mobil), die mobiler gewordenen Menschen sind aber mehr als zuvor darauf angewiesen, zur Bewältigung ihrer Erfahrungen auf ihre kulturellen Ressourcen zurückzugreifen (sie zu mobilisieren). Diese Ambivalenz von Kulturen in/der Mobilität ist für die Beiträge des vorliegenden Bandes erkenntnisleitend. Im Kontext der zahlreichen Publikationen zu den Themen Globalisierung, Migration und Kultur stellt das Potsdamer Forschungsprojekt insofern eine Besonderheit dar, als es linguistische und literaturwissenschaftliche, historische und systematische, empirische und theoretische Zugriffsweisen auf innovative Weise verbindet. Das besondere des hier leitenden Ansatzes besteht darin, dass hier nicht einfach Kulturen als geschlossene Systeme vergleichend gegenüberstellt werden, sondern Formen und Szenarien der interkulturellen Begegnung im Mittelpunkt der Betrachtung stehen werden. Diese Szenarien sind von ihrem Wesen bzw. ihrer Verfasstheit solcherart, dass sie mit Bezug auf eine nationale Kultur nicht mehr angemessen zu beschreiben wären. Sie stellen vielmehr Momente des Aushandelns nicht konvertierbarer kultureller Andersartigkeit dar, die zur Reflexion und Vermittlung mit der Eigenkultur zwingen.
Der Sammelband umfasst die Beiträge des 10. Arbeitstreffens slavistischer Nachwuchswissenschaftler im Rahmen des Jungen Forums Slavistischer Literaturwissenschaft (JFSL), das vom 26. bis zum 28. März 2010 an der Universität Trier stattfand. Präsentiert wird ein Überblick über aktuelle Forschungsrichtungen und -themen der deutschsprachigen Slavistik, der trotz der weiter bestehenden Dominanz der Russistik eine zunehmende Tendenz zu Studien über verschiedene slavische Literaturen zeigt. Die Beiträge lassen sich in drei große Bereiche differenzieren: Der erste Teil ,Texturen' beinhaltet literaturwissenschaftliche Studien, die sich mit den textimannenten Effekten literarischer Werke auseinandersetzen. Der Text als Gewebe wird auf seine Fadendichte und -verkreuzung wie Entstehung und Tradierung bestimmter Motive und Topoi, Decodierung intertextueller Referenzen oder Allegorisierungs- und Symbolisierungprozesse hin analysiert. Der zweite Teil vereinigt unter dem Begriff ,Identitäten' Arbeiten aus dem Bereich der kulturwissenschaftlich orientierten Literaturwissenschaft, die mit Geschlechter-, Raum-, Erinnerungs- und postkolonialen Konzepten den Fragen der literarischen Identitätsgenese nachgehen. Untersucht werden ästhetische Umsetzungen von Machtdispositiven, Hierarchiebildungen und Ausschlussmechanismen. Die Beiträge des dritten Teils ,Theorien' reflektieren entweder die Literaturforschung und ihre Ästhetiktheorien oder unternehmen einen Theorieimport aus verschiedenen Disziplinen wie Philosophie, strukturalistische Psychoanalyse, Neuro-, Geschichts- oder Translationswissenschaften, die sich für die Analyse literarischer Texte als fruchtbar erweisen und damit das Literaturverständnis erweitern.
Thematische Schwerpunkte des Sammelbandes bilden die Inhalte und die Ziele in der Erforschung und Analyse von Migrationsprozessen und die daraus resultierenden Situationen von Sprachkontakt und Kulturtransfer in Europa und Übersee. Neben der thematischen Einführung in die Migrationslinguistik widmet sich der Band den migrationsbedingten Formen des Sprachkontaktes und der Sprachverwendung in Nordamerika sowie verschiedenen Sprachdynamiken in Europa. Auch der sprachliche Integrationsdruck zwischen Asien und Lateinamerika wird in diesem Band thematisiert. Neben Beiträgen von bekannten Migrationslinguisten wie Georges Lüdi (Universität Basel) und Hermann Haller (City University, New York) finden sich theoretische und deskriptive Ansätze zu Sprachkontakt, Sprachwandel und Sprachverfall infolge von Migration aus der Perspektive verschiedener Einzelphilologien. Mit Beiträgen von Lena Busse, Elizabeth Couper-Kuhlen, Hermann Haller, Friederike Kern, Georges Lüdi, Isolde Pfaff, Elton Prifti, Claudia Schlaak, Margret Selting, Thomas Stehl, Lars Steinicke und Maria Wilke.
