Was misst TIMSS?

Bei der Erstellung und Interpretation mathematischer Leistungstests steht die Frage, was eine Aufgabe mißt. Der Artikel stellt mit der strukturalen oder objektiven Hermeneutik eine Methode vor, mit der die verschiedenen Dimensionen der von einer Aufgabe erfassten Fähigkeiten herausgearbeitet werden können. Dabei werden fachliche Anforderungen, Irritationsmomente und das durch die Aufgabe transportierte Bild vom jeweiligen Fach ebenso erfasst wie Momente, die man eher als Testfähigkeit bezeichnen würde.Am Beispiel einer TIMSS-Aufgabe wird diskutiert, dass das von den Testerstellern benutzte theoretische Konstrukt kaum geeignet ist, nachhaltig zu beschreiben, was eine Aufgabe misst.
Wir haben Mathematik-Fachseminare des Landes Brandenburg evaluiert und Empfehlungen formuliert. In der Untersuchung zeigten sich vielfältige strukturelle Veränderungsnotwendigkeiten und professionelle Defizite bei zwei von drei Fachseminarleitern. Dabei erweist sich der Begriff der Praxisorientierung lediglich als ideologischer und negativer: Er steht für Theorieablehnung, Reflexionsarmut und Nichtausbildung, gepaart mit Ignoranz gegenüber den Praxiserfahrungen und –bedürfnissen der Referendare. Auf Seiten der Referendare deuten sich drei Gruppentypen an: Es gibt sehr unzufriedene Referendare, die Ausbildung vermissen und einfordern. Es gibt Referendare, die unter dem Referendariat leiden und eine Ausbildung vermissen, dies aber nicht in Form von Kritik an der Ausbildung äußern (können). Es gibt aber auch Referendare, die gerade deshalb zufrieden sind, weil keine Ausbildung erfolgt. Der theoretisch denkbare vierte Typus, der Ausbildung erlebt und mit ihr zufrieden ist, ist nur ansatzweise vertreten.
