Die Potsdamer Lehramtskandidatinnen-Studie 2004/05 hat eine umfassende Bestandsaufnahme der Qualität der Ausbildung im Vorbereitungsdienst im Land Brandenburg aus Sicht der Betroffenen vorgenommen. Mittels unterschiedlicher Methoden (standardisierte Befragung, Gruppendiskussionen, Dokumentenrecherchen u.a.) wurden in Anlehnung an ein Evaluationsdesign von STUFFLEBEAM (1984) wesentliche Aspekte der Kontext-, Input-, Prozess- und Outputqualität erfasst. Im Ergebnis entsteht – z.T. wider Erwarten – ein eher positives Bild vom Vorbereitungsdienst mit seinen vielen positiven, aber auch weniger positiven Seiten. Auf der Basis einer Stärken- und Schwächen-Analyse treten insbesondere in den qualitativen Befragungen auch eine Reihe von Kritikpunkten zutage. Determinanten für eine hohe Ergebnisqualität in Form von Kompetenzzuwachs bei den Lehramtskandidatinnen werden herausgearbeitet. Aufbauend auf den umfangreichen und facettenreichen Untersuchungsergebnissen werden abschließend entsprechende Folgerungen für die Reform der Lehrerbildung abgeleitet.

Das gerade begonnene Jahr wird für die Universität Potsdam ein besonderes werden, ist es doch das 20. Jahr ihres Bestehens. Auf das Erreichte ist die Hochschule mit Recht stolz. Die Universität Potsdam ist für Studieninteressierte ungebrochen attraktiv, was die steigenden Bewerberzahlen zeigen. Allein im vergangenen Jahr haben Uni-Wissenschaftler knapp 42 Millionen Euro Drittmittel eingeworben und die Liste gemeinsamer Verbundprojekte mit außeruniversitären Forschungseinrichtungen der Region wächst weiter. Zu den Erfolgen zählt weiterhin auch die steigende Anzahl von Absolventinnen und Absolventen der Hochschule.
In die Gründung der Universität Potsdam am 15. Juli 1991 flossen zwei Vorgängereinrichtungen ein. Die wichtigste war die Brandenburgische Landeshochschule, vorher Pädagogische Hochschule, die über vier Jahrzehnte hinweg Lehrerinnen und Lehrer ausgebildet hat. Die Lehrerbildung hat auch für die Universität Potsdam profilbildenden Charakter, denn allein vier der fünf Fakultäten sind an der Lehrerbildung beteiligt und haben Generationen von jungen Leuten für den Lehrerberuf qualifiziert. Heute ist das Ziel aller an der Lehrerbildung Beteiligten, eine professionsorientierte, qualitativ hochwertige Lehrerbildung zu sichern, die sich an den Kompetenzen Erziehen, Unterrichten, Beraten, Betreuen, Innovieren und Organisieren orientiert. Eine besondere Herausforderung sieht die Universität Potsdam dabei in der Vernetzung von wissenschaftlicher Forschung und Lehrerbildung.
Portal alumni stellt in der hier vorliegenden Ausgabe im Jubiläumsjahr zwölf Absolventen der Lehrerbildung vor. Sie berichten aus jeweils individueller Perspektive, wie sie ihr Studium an der Universität Potsdam erlebt haben und wie es sie geprägt hat. Und natürlich stellt das Magazin zugleich aktuelle Entwicklungstrends in der Lehrerbildung vor. Wie in allen Heften zuvor berichten wir von der Alumni-Arbeit des Jahres 2010 und stellen Höhepunkte des Unialltags vor. Wir wünschen Ihnen eine unterhaltsame Lektüre und sind gespannt auf Ihr Feedback zu diesem Heft.
Einführung in den Band

Mit dem vorliegenden Band „Nach Bologna: Praktika im Studium – Pflicht oder Kür? Empirische Analysen und Empfehlungen für die Hochschulpraxis“ von Wilfried Schubarth, Karsten Speck und Andreas Seidel wird die Reihe „Potsdamer Beiträge zur Lehrevaluation“ unter neuem Titel und veränderter inhaltlicher Schwerpunktsetzung fortgeführt. Die Umbenennung in „Potsdamer Beiträge zur Hochschulforschung“ versteht sich als ein Schritt hin zu einer thematischen Öffnung der Reihe für die verschiedensten Felder der Hochschulforschung. Der vorliegende Band widmet sich einem der zentralen Reformziele von Bologna: der Frage des Praxis- und Berufsbezugs und dabei insbesondere den Praxisphasen im Studium. Mit der Bologna-Reform werden im bildungspolitischen Bereich sehr vielfältige strukturelle und inhaltliche Ziele verfolgt. Das Ziel dieses Bandes besteht deshalb darin, empirische Forschungen zu Praxisbezügen und Praxisphasen im Studium vorzustellen, diese in den Kontext aktueller Debatten um Studienqualität und Studienreform zu stellen sowie Folgerungen für die Gestaltung von Praxisphasen abzuleiten. Inhaltliche Schwerpunkte bilden das BMBF-Forschungsprojekt ProPrax und die Praxisphasen im Lehramtsstudium. Die Beiträge dieses Bandes gehen aus einem gleichnamigen Workshop hervor, der am 1. Oktober 2010 in Potsdam stattfand.

Die vorliegende Analyse der Lehrerbildung an der Universität Potsdam versteht sich als ein Beitrag zur aktuellen Diskussion um die Zukunft der Lehrerbildung. Die Analyse stützt sich auf drei Untersuchungsschwerpunkte. Im Band werden (1) zentrale Veröffentlichungen, Stellungnahmen und Gutachten zur Potsdamer Lehrerbildung ausgewertet und systematisch zusammengefasst, (2) wird die Entwicklung der Lehrerbildung am Beispiel ausgewählter Fächer im Rahmen einer Längsschnittanalyse aufgezeigt sowie (3) Ergebnisse einer Lehramtsstudierendenbefragung vorgestellt.

Was wird unter „nachhaltiger Prävention“ in der Präventionsforschung verstanden? Welche guten Beispiele für nachhaltige Prävention gibt es in der Praxis? Und v. a.: Wie lässt sich Prävention in den verschiedenen Bereichen wie Kriminalität, Gewalt und Rechtsextremismus nachhaltig gestalten? Diesen Fragen will der vorliegende Sammelband nachgehen und damit der Präventionsdebatte neue Impulse verleihen. Der Band will insbesondere die nationale sowie internationale Fachdebatte konstruktiv aufgreifen, Theorie und Praxis verbinden, „good practice“ Beispiele darstellen sowie Perspektiven nachhaltiger Prävention aufzeigen. Die Universität Potsdam hat in diesem Jahr groß gefeiert: Sie ist 25 Jahre alt geworden. Zahlreiche Veranstaltungen und Publikationen zum Jubeljahr beleuchten, wie sich die Universität seit ihrer Gründung am 15. Juli 1991 entwickelt hat. Auch die Redaktion von Portal Alumni will dieses Vierteljahrhundert in den Blick nehmen und zwar aus der Perspektive der Studierenden und Alumni. Wir haben uns gefragt: Wie hat sich das Studium an der Universität Potsdam in der Vergangenheit geändert? Was ist den Studierenden heute wichtig, was waren wichtige Themen vor zehn oder zwanzig Jahren? Welche Erinnerungen haben Alumni an ihre Hochschulzeit? In diesem Heft lassen wir Alumni zu Wort kommen, die zu unterschiedlichen Zeiten an der Universität studiert haben und die für uns einen Blick zurück werfen auf ihre Generation. Mit dabei ist etwa Stefan Uhlmann, der sein Studium kurz vor dem Wendeherbst aufgenommen hatte. Sein erstes Semester war noch geprägt von sozialer Sicherheit: Der Staat zahlte den monatlichen studentischen Unterhalt von 200 Mark, die Universität stellte den Wohnheimplatz. Selbst der Arbeitsplatz war nach den Gesetzen der Planwirtschaft sicher. Wenige Monate später war alles anders: Die Inhalte aller Studiengänge wurden auf den Prüfstand gestellt, alle Rahmenbedingungen neu gestaltet, die gesamte Gesellschaft und damit auch der Arbeitsmarkt waren im Umbruch. Zwischen der Generation von Stefan Uhlmann und der der jungen Bachelorabsolventin Friederike Bath liegen 25 Jahre Universitätsgeschichte. Eine Zeit, in der sich Lehre und Studium gewandelt haben. Der Einführung von einer Studienordnung nach bundesdeutschem Recht folgte in der Jahrtausendwende die Bologna-Reform, die nicht nur das Studieren verändert hat. Sie hat auch einen Wertewandel mit sich gebracht, den der Sozialisationswissenschaftler Wilfried Schubarth in dieser Ausgabe beschreibt.
