Der Aufsatz beleuchtet die Handelsverbindungen des Ostmittelmeerraums im 3. und 2. Jahrtausend v.Chr., insbesondere die ägyptischen Fundstücke in der Ägäis und deren Bezug zu Troia. Von besonderer Bedeutung sind ein in Troia gefundener Keulenkopf aus Fayence und eine Ortsnamenliste des Pharao Amenophis III., in der evt. Troia genannt ist.
