Seit einiger Zeit ist zu beobachten, dass sich das Bild von den Ostdeutschen, das von Medien, Politik und Wissenschaft gezeichnet wird, verändert. In den ersten Jahren nach 1990 stand vor allem das politische System der DDR mit seinen Wirkungen auf Verhaltensweisen, Mentalitäten der Menschen im Vordergrund. Die Ostdeutschen wurden mit ihren Gewohnheiten, Wertvorstellungen und Einstellungen an bundesdeutschen Standards gemessen und als veraltet und einer ‚nachholenden Modernisierung’ bedürftig angesehen. Nun aber treten andere Perspektiven in den Vordergrund, die die Ostdeutschen zu ‚Wunschprotagonisten’ gesellschaftlichen Umbaus machen. Der Blick richtet sich auf habituelle Ressourcen, die ostdeutsche Frauen und Männer als ‚biografisches Gepäck’ aus der DDR in die neue Republik mitgebracht und in einem komplexen und widersprüchlichen Prozess von Anpassung und eigensinniger Behauptung zu Wahrnehmungs- und Deutungsmustern sowie praktischen Arrangements transformiert haben. Politiker wie Wissenschaftler schreiben nun den Ostdeutschen – gerade aufgrund ihrer gemachten Transformationserfahrungen – einen Vorsprung im Umgang mit radikalen gesellschaftlichen Verwerfungen zu, der für den aktuell anstehenden Strukturwandel genutzt werden kann. Empirische Untersuchungen, die diese These erhärten, sind bislang allerdings eher selten. Und unter ihnen sind Forschungen darüber, welchen Einfluss die gesellschaftlichen Veränderungen im Osten Deutschlands seit 1989/90 auf die Geschlechterverhältnisse, die praktizierten Geschlechterarrangements und Geschlechtervorstellungen hatten bzw. wie diese mit ihrer DDR-geschichtlichen Färbung die Transformationsprozesse in den neuen Ländern beeinflussen, noch einmal marginal. Bis heute ist eine gendersensible Sicht auf die skizzierten Veränderungen selten. Und dies, obwohl gerade an den Geschlechterarrangements und am eigensinnigen Festhalten ostdeutscher Frauen aber auch von Männern an Vorstellungen und Alltagspraktiken, die durch den DDR-Geschlechtervertrag geprägt sind, exemplarisch gezeigt werden kann, wie widersprüchlich ostdeutsche Mentalitäten und Werte sind und welche ambivalenten Wirkungen aus ihnen für den gesellschaftlichen Strukturwandel resultieren (können). Mit dem Themenschwerpunkt "Geschlechterverhältnisse in Ostdeutschland" wollen die Potsdamer Studien zur Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung aus gendersensibler Perspektive und auf der Basis empirischer Forschungen einen Beitrag zu den aktuellen Debatten über den Gesellschaftsumbau leisten.
Disziplinäre Quergänge : (Un-)Möglichkeiten transdisziplinärer Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung

Heft 2/1998 hat den thematischen Schwerpunkt der Transdisziplinarität in der Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung und dokumentiert die Beiträge sowie die Diskussion eines Workshops, der im Sommersemester 1998 an der Universität Potsdam im Rahmen der Planungen zu einem Magisternebenfach „Frauen- und Geschlechterstudien" stattgefunden hat. Beiträgerinnen sind u.a. Sabine Hark, Maike Baader, Beate Neumeier, Axeli Knapp, Silke Wenk, Ulrike Teubner. Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung hat wiederholt Interdisziplinarität reklamiert, um das Zugleich von Monotonie und Heterogenität der Reproduktion der Geschlechterhierarchie verstehen zu können. Aus den Einzeldisziplinen heraus waren Grenzgänge in andere Disziplinen geradezu notwendig, um das Dickicht der Geschlechterordnung, die Verknüpfungen zwischen symbolischen, strukturellen und individuellen Dimensionen von Geschlecht zu durchdringen. Der „Beziehungssinn" zwischen den Disziplinen wurde dabei allerdings selten gepflegt. Wie etwa die moderne Geschlechterordnung selbst zum Ordnungsprinzip und zur Modalität der Produktion wissenschaftlichen Wissens wurde, war allenfalls eine Randfrage. Der reflexive Blick auf die Prozesse der wechselseitigen Konstitution von Disziplingrenzen gerade durch interdisziplinäre Herangehensweisen blieb bisher weitgehend aus. In einer transdisziplinären Orientierung von Frauen- und Geschlechterstudien würde daher gerade die je fachspezifische Konstitution von Gegenständen, Methoden und disziplinären Grenzen sowie die durch sie bestimmten bzw. beschränkten Perspektiven zum Gegenstand, wenn es darum gehen soll, die überschneidenden Problemfelder, die sich aus der Perspektive der Geschlechterdifferenz als relevant erweisen, zwischen den Disziplinen zu bearbeiten. In einer transdisziplinären Perspektive also stünden die Disziplingrenzen selbst zur Disposition, Teil der Lehr- und Forschungspraxis wäre die Frage, wie verschiedene disziplinäre Zugänge die Objekte des Wissens konstruieren und was das für die möglichen Erkenntnisse bedeutet.
Der vorliegende Sammelband gibt Ergebnisse einer internationalen wissenschaftlichen Tagung - bereits die sechste in"Serie" - des Instituts für Pädagogik der Universität Potsdam im September 2001 wieder, die wesentliches Bestandteil einer nun schon mehrjährigen vertraglichen Kooperation zwischen Wissenschaftlern aus lehrerbildenden Hochschulen in Belarus', in Polen (drei beteiligte Universitäten), in Russland sowie der Universität Potsdam ist, an der diesmal auch wieder ein Vertreter der Tschechischen Republik teilnahm. Diese gemeinsame Arbeit zur Begleitung der in den beteiligten Ländern verlaufenden Reformprozesse im Bildungswesen wird durch die finanzielle Förderung durch den Deutschen Akademischen Auslandsdienst (DAAD) möglich. Diesjähriger Schwerpunkt der Analysen und Diskussionen auf der Tagung war die Fragestellung, inwieweit die nationalen Bildungsreformen den zwischen den Ländern Europas vereinbarten Zielrichtungen auf eine Entwicklung des Bildungssystems in europäischer Dimension gerecht werden, welche Hoffnungen, Dilemmata und Probleme in diesem Prozess der europäischen Annäherung und Einigung entstehen. In einem Tagungsresümee werden grundlegende Ergebnisse der Analyse und der inhaltsreichen, teilweise auch kontroversen Diskussion zusammengefasst. Eingangs wird immer auch traditionsgemäß aktuelle Bilanz gezogen, wie die konkrete Bildungsreform im jeweiligen Land im vergangenen Jahr voran kam, welche Probleme sichtbar wurden. In 12 Einzelbeiträgen wird ein facettenreiches Bild der Problemlage und der Lösungsansätze in den beteiligten Ländern gezeichnet, wobei zugleich einerseits grundlegende Ansätze der Bildungsentwicklung in europäischer Dimension (z. B. "Weißbuch" der Tschechischen Republik; Reformansätze in Belarus' - aber auch andere Beiträge) wie auch andererseits vielfältige konkrete praktische Bemühungen um europäische Integration in der Bildung (in allen beteiligten Ländern) beschrieben werden.

In Zeiten von PISA-Vergleichsstudien sind die sozialen Probleme Jugendlicher im Zusammenhang mit der Globalisierung, insbesondere in Osteuropa, etwas aus dem Blick geraten. Rund 20 Jahre nach dem Systemumbruch in Mittel- und Osteuropa stellt sich jedoch die Frage, was Jugendliche in Polen, Russland und Deutschland vereint bzw. noch trennt. Dieser zentralen Frage geht der vorliegende Band – anhand eines Kulturvergleichs – in drei Länderbeiträgen nach und untersucht Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede zwischen den Jugendlichen hinsichtlich deren Einstellungen, Lebens- und Wertvorstellungen u. ä. Angesichts „unsicherer Zeiten“ ist davon auszugehen, dass die sozialen Probleme Jugendlicher auch künftig nicht geringer werden. Deshalb wird die Beobachtung, Analyse und Begleitung der Jugendentwicklung in Osteuropa eine wichtige Aufgabe bleiben – sowohl für Sozial- und Bildungsforscher als auch für Lehrer, Erzieher und Sozialarbeiter.
