Die Untersuchung vertieft die Beweisführung für die vor kurzem ausgesprochene These, daß der 1161 erstmals erwähnte Burgward Niemegk zu Beginn der 2. Etappe der deutschen Ostexpansion weder von den Askaniern noch dem Erzbistum Magdeburg okkupiert wurde, sondern von den Grafen von Jabilinze, die auch in Beizig ihre Herrschaft errichteten.
Die Untersuchungen machen wahrscheinlich, daß ein Reichsministerialengeschlecht vor 1161 den Raum Treuenbrietzen okkupierte, dort einen Herrschaftssitz errichtete und mit einem ersten Landesausbau begann. Zwischen 1194 und 1208 endete die relative Selbständigkeit dieses Geschlechts. Brietzen wurde Bestandteil der erzbischöflich-magdeburgischen Territorialherrschaft Jüterbog, ging aber noch im 13. Jahrhundert in brandenburgisch-askanischen Besitz über.
Diese Untersuchung macht wahrscheinlich, daß der erstmals 1161 erwähnte Burgward Mörz bei Beizig in der zweiten Hälfte des 12. und der ersten Hälfte des 13. Jahrhunderts zur Grafschaft Beizig gehörte, die vielleicht um 1200 in Lehnsabhängigkeit von den askanischen Herzögen von Sachsen geriet. Erst nach dem Aussterben des Grafenhauses um 1260 wurde mit dem größten Teil der Beiziger Grafschaft auch der Burgward Mörz direkt in das Herzogtum Sachsen eingegliedert.
