Jährlich werden in Brandenburg ca. 500 ha Wald in andere Nutzungsarten umgewandelt. Durch die forst- und naturschutzrechtliche Pflicht zur Kompensation können die vielfältigen Funktionen des Waldes für Erholung, Natur- und Ressourcenschutz erhalten und gestärkt werden. Dafür ist eine intensive Zusammenarbeit von Forst- und Naturschutzverwaltung notwendig. So das Ergebnis einer Fachtagung des Lehrstuhl für Landschaftsplanung der Universität Potsdam am 10. Juni 2002 an der Landeslehrstätte für Naturschutz und Landschaftspflege in Lebus.
Der vorliegende Beitrag beschreibt zunächst Ansätze für Erfolgskontrollen im Rahmen der naturschutzrechtlichen Eingriffsregelung. Anschließend werden Erfolgskontrollen von Aufforstungsmaßnahmen an der BAB A9 in Brandenburg und einer durchgeführten Gewässerrenaturierung im Landkreis Bitterfeld in Sachsen- Anhalt vorgestellt. Anhand dieser beiden häufigen Maßnahmentypen wird dabei gezeigt, wie geoökologische Untersuchungsmethoden zur Qualifizierung von planerischen Erfolgskontrollen beitragen können.
