The Focus Feature Revisited

  • This paper examines some focus constructions in Slavic and argues that prosodic and intonational effects of focus are secondary and derivative of the syntactic and lexical representation. The examples under analysis are taken from Bulgarian, Macedonian, Russian and Czech.
