In dieser Masterarbeit wird der Frage nachgegangen, wie das Thema Grundvorstellungen und Vorstellungsumbrüche zur Multiplikation und Division von Brüchen im Rahmen der Lehrveranstaltung „Didaktik der Arithmetik II“ an der Universität Potsdam gelehrt wird. Ziel des Lehrens und Lernens ist es, das notwendige Professionswissen der Studierenden zu sichern. Dafür wurden Gestaltungsprinzipien für neue Lehrveranstaltungen zur Verzahnung von Fachwissenschaft und Fachdidaktik im Fach Mathematik von der Arbeitsgruppe Mathematikdidaktik der Universität Potsdam entwickelt. Mittels einer qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse wird genauer untersucht, welches fachbezogene Wissen zum Aufgreifen von notwendigen Vorstellungsumbrüchen, Aufbau von Grundvorstellungen und zur Behebung von Fehlvorstellungen in den Lehrveranstaltungen vermittelt wurde und auf welche Art und Weise die Vermittlung des Wissens erfolgte. Weiterhin werden Testdaten zur Bruchrechenkompetenz der Studierenden dahingehend analysiert, ob sich für einen Teil der Studierenden beim Operieren mit Brüchen das Vorliegen des Natural Number Bias (NNB) oder weiterer basaler Fehlvorstellungen zeigen lässt.
Die qualitativ-quantitative Auswertung der Testdaten zeigt, dass bei einem Teil der Studierenden vor Beginn der Lehreinheit zur Bruchrechnung Fehlvorstellungen vorlagen, die durch den NNB bzw. falsch generalisierte Merkregeln eines kalkülorientierten Unterrichts erklärt werden können. Diese Fehlvorstellungen konnten zum Großteil von den betroffenen Studierenden bis zum Ende der Lehrveranstaltungsreihe abgebaut werden, wie die Ergebnisse des Post-Tests belegen. Allerdings zeigen die Ergebnisse zu den Modellierungsaufgaben des Bruchrechentests sowie die analysierten Rechengeschichten, die passend zu einer vorgegebenen Rechenaufgabe von Studierenden in den Übungen formuliert werden sollten, auch, dass viele Studierende weiterhin Schwierigkeiten mit der Anwendung von relevanten Grundvorstellungen der Multiplikation und Division im Sachkontext besitzen, selbst wenn Studierende in der Lage sind geeignete Grundvorstellungen explizierend zu nennen. Insbesondere erscheinen die Verhältnisvorstellung und die Vorstellung des Aufteilens/Ausmessens im Umgang mit entsprechenden Aufgabenstellungen zur Bruchrechnung bei einem Teil der Studierenden nicht flexibel anwendbar zu sein.
Im Sinne des Design-Based-Research Ansatzes konnte im Rahmen dieser Arbeit durch die erfolgte Inhaltsanalyse ein Verbesserungspotenzial für die Lehrveranstaltung identifiziert werden, beispielsweise in Bezug auf die Behandlung von Grundvorstellungen zur Multiplikation/Division rationaler Zahlen. So wird konkret vorgeschlagen, im Rahmen der Behandlung der Grundvorstellungen der Multiplikation auch die Grundvorstellung der Skalierung zu behandeln, da diese ohne notwendigen Vorstellungsumbruch anschlussfähig auf rationale Zahlen als Multiplikatoren anwendbar ist und daher sinnstiftend dazu beitragen könnte, die Fehlvorstellung ‚Multiplikation vergrößert immer‘ auf Basis einer konkreten Vorstellung zu überdenken. Weiterhin sollte die im Rahmen der analysierten Lehrpassagen vertretene Behauptung, dass das ‚Verteilen bei einem Bruch als Divisor scheitert‘ auf Grundlage der in dieser Arbeit theoretisch hergeleiteten Ausführungen differenzierter betrachtet werden.
