  abstract  = {Die vorliegende Arbeit tr{\"a}gt den Titel: Intellektuellen-Rolle in G{\"u}nter Grass Werken : „Die Plebejer proben den Aufstand"(1966), „{\"O}rtlich bet{\"a}ubt"(1969), „Aus dem Tagebuch einer Schnecke"(1972), und „Ein weites Feld"(1995). Das erste Kapitel befasst sich insgesamt mit drei Haupttiteln II. Der Intellektuelle II.1 Das allgemeine Umfeld In diesem Teil der Dissertation sollen Aussagen getroffen werden, die auf folgende und weitere Fragen eine Antwort geben: Was ist ein Intellektueller? Wie kam der Begriff zustande? Gibt es Unterschiede zwischen den Intellektuellen und wie werden sie eingeteilt? II.2 Das deutsche Umfeld Die Behandlung des Nazisystems und dessen historische Hintergr{\"u}nde vermittelt bedeutsame Lehren. Aber wozu braucht man diese Lehren? Gibt es Spuren von Nationalsozialismus heutzutage? Wo waren die Intellektuellen bei der Bildung des Nationalsozialismus? Ist der Nationalsozialismus erst mit Hitler aufgetaucht? Wenn zuvor, in welcher Phase hat er sich im Bewusstsein der Deutschen verankert? Ob theoretische bzw. geistige Tendenzen dazu beigetragen haben? II.3 Das Bild von Grass als Intellektueller II.3.1 Positionierung Eine Hauptthese f{\"u}r Grass intellektuelle Positionierung wird durch die Verbindung zwischen Grass' Grundkonzeption der gesellschaftspolitischen Intellektualit{\"a}t und der Gruppe 47 ermittelt. Dann bezweckt die Behandlung von Grass Bild nach Erscheinen seines autobiographischen Werks: „Beim H{\"a}uten der Zwiebel" (2006), dass seine Intellektualit{\"a}t nicht nur aus dem positiven, sondern auch aus dem negativen Profil beleuchtet wird. Aus der Darstellung zahlreicher Ansichten von G{\"u}nter Grass werden f{\"u}nf thematische Kernpunkte als Konzepte behandelt. Unter jedem Konzept sollen spezifische Vorschl{\"a}ge zur gesellschaftlichen Positionierung aufgezeigt werden. II.3.2 Grass' politische Merkmale Es handelt sich hier um die intellektuellen Charaktereigenschaften. Dadurch kommen manche Fragen zu Wort: Hat G{\"u}nter Grass gesellschaftliche Aktivit{\"a}ten? Hat er die Voraussetzungen daf{\"u}r? Wie ist der Umfang seiner Aktivit{\"a}ten? Hat die Gruppe 47 Einfluss auf Grass intellektuelle Merkmale? Steht bei Grass eine Methode der gesellschaftspolitischen Arbeit zur Verf{\"u}gung? Dann wird die politische Sprache von G{\"u}nter Grass und ihre Wirkung auf den Rezipienten untersucht. Danach wird nach Grass' Auffassung von der Revision gefragt und ob sie mit seiner Auffassung der Aufkl{\"a}rung zusammenpasst. Darauf wird die Funktion der Revision in seinem literarischen Werk und in seiner gesellschaftspolitischen Aktivit{\"a}t gezeigt. Abschließend werden die Argumente seiner Intellektualit{\"a}t untersucht: Wie hat Grass' gesellschaftspolitische Aktivit{\"a}t den konkreten politischen Rahmen ber{\"u}cksichtigt? Um diese Frage zu beantworten, muss der Zusammenhang zwischen Politik und Moral verdeutlicht werden. III. Historischer Kontext und Inhalt der Werke Unter diesem Titel wird erstens der historische Zusammenhang der untersuchten Werke skizziert. Dann werden meistens durch Argumente aus jedem Werk selbst nicht nur der Kern des Werkes und sein Handlungsverlauf, sondern auch die daf{\"u}r angewandte Methode dargestellt. IV. Bezug der untersuchten Werke zu konkreten gesellschaftspolitischen Fragen IV.1 Interaktionswege des Intellektuellen mit der Gesellschaft, vor allem beim Wandel gesellschaftspolitischer Prozesse Zentralkonzepte des ersten Werkes sind: Vermittlung, Engagement, Solidarit{\"a}t und die Aktualit{\"a}t als Maßstab. Diese werden durch zwei Konzepte des zweiten Werkes: Appell an Generationen beim Wechsel und Zusammenhaltsprinzip an Revision gebunden, sowie durch die Behandlung vom Prozess der Meinungsbildung im vierten Werk ausgearbeitet. IV.2 Thematische Aspekte zur Vermeidung eines Naziregimes Aus den thematischen Perspektiven der drei letzten Werke geht eine bunte Sammlung intellektueller Konzepte aus, die zur Bek{\"a}mpfung von Nazivorspr{\"u}nge verwendet werden k{\"o}nnen. V. P{\"a}dagogische Strategien der untersuchten Werke Die p{\"a}dagogischen Aspekte der untersuchten Werke sollen intellektuelle Werte vermitteln, die einen bedeutenden Beitrag zur L{\"o}sung gesellschaftspolitischer Probleme und Konflikte leisten. VI. Entwicklung der literarischen und gesellschaftspolitischen Vision Hier wird die Entwicklungslinie der gesellschaftspolitischen Vision in den untersuchten Werken verfolgt. VII. Zur Rezeption der vier Werke Durch die Auseinandersetzung mit der negativen Kritik wird angestrebt, ihre Subjektivit{\"a}t darzulegen, damit der gesellschaftspolitische Wert der vier Werke enth{\"u}llt wird.},

  abstract  = {This paper reopens the discussion on focus marking in Akan (Kwa, Niger-Congo) by examining the semantics of the so-called focus marker in the language. It is shown that the so-called focus marker expresses exhaustivity when it occurs in a sentence with narrow focus. The study employs four standard tests for exhaustivity proposed in the literature to examine the semantics of Akan focus constructions (Szabolsci 1981, 1994; {\´E}. Kiss 1998; Hartmann and Zimmermann 2007). It is shown that although a focused entity with the so-called focus marker nà is interpreted to mean 'only X and nothing/nobody else,' this meaning appears to be pragmatic.},

  abstract  = {This text is a contribution to the research on the worldwide success of evangelical Christianity and offers a new perspective on the relationship between late modern capitalism and evangelicalism. For this purpose, the utilization of affect and emotion in evangelicalism towards the mobilization of its members will be examined in order to find out what similarities to their employment in late modern capitalism can be found. Different examples from within the evangelical spectrum will be analyzed as affective economies in order to elaborate how affective mobilization is crucial for evangelicalism's worldwide success. Pivotal point of this text is the exploration of how evangelicalism is able to activate the voluntary commitment of its members, financiers, and missionaries. Gathered here are examples where both spheres—evangelicalism and late modern capitalism—overlap and reciprocate, followed by a theoretical exploration of how the findings presented support a view of evangelicalism as an inner-worldly narcissism that contributes to an assumed re-enchantment of the world.},

  abstract  = {In einer verschr{\"a}nkten Lekt{\"u}re von Curtius, Auerbach und Bachtin macht die Dissertation sichtbar, wie die Autoren mit ihren Arbeiten zur europ{\"a}ischen Literaturgeschichte nach einer ethischen Orientierung in der Krise der Moderne suchen. Ihr Konzept einer philologisch fundierten Geschichtsphilosophie in praktischer Absicht wird sowohl kultur- und theoriegeschichtlich aufbereitet, als auch anhand detaillierter Textanalysen nachvollzogen. Der Blick auf den geschichtsphilosophischen Aspekt ihrer Forschungsarbeit erweist sich hierbei nicht nur insoweit als fruchtbar, als er sich als Schl{\"u}ssel offenbart, philologische Mikrologie und breite Zusammenschau sowie ideengeschichtliche und gesellschaftliche Entwicklungen zu verkn{\"u}pfen. Ihr Ansatz offenbart sich auch als wesentlich differenzierter, als es die g{\"a}ngigen Vorbehalte gegen{\"u}ber der Geschichtsphilosophie vermuten lassen. Die Untersuchung erweitert aus diesem Grund den methodischen Diskurshorizont, indem sie die M{\"o}glichkeiten einer kritischen Geschichtsphilosophie f{\"u}r gegenw{\"a}rtige Fragen der Literaturgeschichte neu justiert. Dies geschieht {\"u}ber den Zugang so unterschiedlicher Rezeptionen wie der von Anselm Haverkamp, Edward Said, Terry Eagleton und Homi Bhabha, die einen Diskussionsraum er{\"o}ffnen, welcher den eigenen historischen Standpunkt der Dissertation im Kontext von Postmoderne und Postkolonialismus reflektiert.},

  abstract  = {Objeto de esta investigaci{\´o}n es el auge y ca{\´i}da de una legitimaci{\´o}n teol{\´o}gica de la poes{\´i}a que tuvo lugar en el virreinato del Per{\´u} entre fines del siglo XVI y la segunda mitad del siglo XVII. Su punto c{\´u}lmine est{\´a} marcado por el surgimiento de una "Academia Ant{\´a}rtica" en las primeras d{\´e}cadas del siglo XVII, mientras que su fin, se aprecia a fines del mismo siglo, cuando eruditos de las {\´o}rdenes religiosas, especialmente Juan de Espinosa y Medrano en sus textos en defensa de la poes{\´i}a y las ciencias, negaron a la poes{\´i}a cualquier estatuto teol{\´o}gico, sirvi{\´e}ndose sin embargo de ella para escribir sus sermones y textos. A partir del auge y ca{\´i}da de esta legitimaci{\´o}n teol{\´o}gica en el virreinato del Per{\´u}, este estudio muestra la existencia de dos movimientos que forman un quiasmo entre una teologizaci{\´o}n de la poes{\´i}a y una poetizaci{\´o}n de la teolog{\´i}a, en cuyo centro velado se encuentra en disputa el saber te{\´o}rico y pr{\´a}ctico de la poes{\´i}a. Lo que est{\´a} en disputa en este sentido no es la poes{\´i}a, entendida como una cumbre de las bellas letras, sino la posesi{\´o}n leg{\´i}tima de un modo de lectura anal{\´o}gico y tipol{\´o}gico del orden del universo, fundado en las Sagradas Escrituras y en la historia de la salvaci{\´o}n, y un modo po{\´e}tico para doctrinar a todos los miembros de la sociedad virreinal en concordancia con aquel modo de lectura.},

The first study employed the masked priming technique to investigate -ed forms with a group of advanced Arabic-speaking learners of English. The results replicate previously found L1/L2 differences in morphological priming, even though in the present experiment an extra temporal delay was offered after the presentation of the prime words. The second study examined the timing of constraints against inflected forms inside derived words in English using the eye-movement monitoring technique and an additional acceptability judgment task with highly advanced Dutch L2 learners of English in comparison to adult L1 English controls. Whilst offline the L2 learners performed native-like, the eye-movement data showed that their online processing was not affected by the morphological constraint against regular plurals inside derived words in the same way as in native speakers. Taken together, these findings indicate that L2 learners are not just slower than native speakers in processing morphologically complex words, but that the L2 comprehension system employs real-time grammatical analysis (in this case, morphological information) less than the L1 system.},

  abstract  = {Our aim in this contribution is to productively engage with the abstractions and complexities of Luhmann's conceptions of society from a postcolonial perspective, with a particular focus on the explanatory powers of his sociological systems theory when it leaves the realms of Europe and ventures to describe regions of the global South. In view of its more recent global reception beyond Europe, our aim is to thus - following the lead of Dipesh Chakrabarty - provincialize Luhmann's system theory especially with regard to its underlying assumptions about a global "world society". For these purposes, we intend to revisit Luhmann in the post/colonial contact zone: We wish to reread Luhmann in the context of spaces of transcultural encounter where "global designs and local histories" (Mignolo), where inclusion into and exclusion from "world society" (Luhmann) clash and interact in intricate ways. The title of our contribution, 'Luhmann in da Contact Zone' is deliberately ambiguous: On the one hand, we of course use 'Luhmann' metonymically, as representative of a highly complex theoretical design. We shall cursorily outline this design with a special focus on the notion of a singular, modern "world society", only to confront it with the epistemic challenges of the contact zone. On the other hand, this critique will also involve the close observation of Niklas Luhman as a human observer (a category which within the logic of systems theory actually does not exist) who increasingly transpires in his late writings on exclusion in the global South. By following this dual strategy, we wish to trace an increasing fracture between one Luhmann and the other, between abstract theoretical design and personalized testimony. It is by exploring and measuring this fracture that we hope to eventually be able to map out the potential of a possibly more productive encounter between systems theory and specific strands of postcolonial theory for a pluritopic reading of global modernity.},
