  abstract  = {In 1797 a rather short work appeared in Paris in two volumes, under the title Pasigraphie in both its French and German versions. The author, Joseph de Maimieux (1753-1820), is said to have coined the term pasigraphie. With the invention of pasigraphy, Maimieux pursued the goal of creating a conceptually based writing system that could be applied to all languages. In this way, a text written in this script could be read in all languages. The pasigraphic system is based on an a priori system of conceptual classification to which written characters are assigned. It is therefore initially an exclusively written language, on which Maimieux two years later also built a spoken language with the Pasilalie. The first arguments against the endeavour represented by the Pasigraphie were brought forward by Maimieux' immediate contemporaries, the ideologues. These objections were re-affirmed in particular by Johann Severin Vater. The decisive difference between Maimieux and his critics lies in the determination of the role of signs in the formation of concepts. While for Maimieux the signs only name the finished concepts, his critics argued that signs have a function in the constitution of the concepts. A universal language is therefore ultimately not possible, since there are no universal concepts and the individual languages lead to different conceptual structures.},

  abstract  = {El comienzo podr{\´i}an ser dos im{\´a}genes de Vallejo en Par{\´i}s. La primera la extraigo de la m{\´a}s reciente biograf{\´i}a del escritor peruano, C{\´e}sar Vallejo: A Literary Biography, obra del hispanista brit{\´a}nico Stephen Hart. Refiere Hart que en sus primeros a{\~n}os en Par{\´i}s la situaci{\´o}n de Vallejo era tan precaria que cuando viajaba en tren evitaba descender del vag{\´o}n hasta que no se hubiera detenido del todo para no desgastar su {\´u}nico par de zapatos. En cierta ocasi{\´o}n, yendo con unos amigos y top{\´a}ndose con una acera encharcada por la ruptura de una boca de riego, Vallejo prefiri{\´o} dar media vuelta y despedirse de sus amigos antes que arriesgarse a arruinar sus zapatos atravesando el charco (108). Quisiera contrastar esta imagen, que sintetiza la penuria econ{\´o}mica que marc{\´o} la vida de Vallejo en Par{\´i}s y en general los quince a{\~n}os que pas{\´o} en Europa desde que abandon{\´o} el Per{\´u} en 1923 hasta su muerte en 1938, con la imagen que propone una fotograf{\´i}a (v{\´e}ase Fig. 1). Es una fotograf{\´i}a muy conocida: tomada en 1929 por Juan Domingo C{\´o}rdoba en el curso de un paseo veraniego por Versalles, se ha convertido en una suerte de imagen emblem{\´a}tica, reproducida en numerosas reediciones de la obra de Vallejo. De hecho, lo que a m{\´i} siempre me llam{\´o} la atenci{\´o}n en esta imagen es la pose. La pose, y la elegancia del atuendo. Consideremos por un momento lo atildado del traje, el coqueto pa{\~n}uelo que asoma del bolsillo superior de la chaqueta, el anillo con un {\´a}gata negra engastada en el dedo coraz{\´o}n, el sombrero de fieltro dejado al desgaire en la pierna, el se{\~n}orial bast{\´o}n—o la corbata anudada en pajarita con que aparece en otra fotograf{\´i}a contempor{\´a}nea (v{\´e}ase Fig. 2). Si hubiera que definir en una palabra la elegancia de esa pose, yo dir{\´i}a que es la pose de un dandy. Un dandy de zapatos gastados. En los m{\´u}ltiples transtierros de Vallejo, y en particular en los quince a{\~n}os que vivi{\´o} en Par{\´i}s, coexisten as{\´i} pues la precariedad econ{\´o}mica del emigrante y el cosmopolitismo del viajero culto.},

  abstract  = {This article focuses on the unique combination of poetry, fiction and autobiography that distinguishes Lorenzo Garcia Vega's recent work. Through a reading of this work and, in particular, of the 'bad novel', Devastacion del Hotel San Luis (2007), a rethinking of the concept of autofiction is proposed, based on Benveniste's linguistic analysis of enunciation modes and on a revision of Kate Hamburger's theory of literary genres. My reading situates the question of autofiction in this author in the context of his conflictive dialogue with the group Origenes, tracing the mixture of narrative and lyrical modes of autofiguration in Garcia Vega's unique project: rewriting both Proust's autobiographic narrative and Lezama's neobaroque poetics.},

  abstract  = {RESUME Cette etude propose d'explorer et d'identifier des moments particuliers oU le changement linguistique se produit, afin de confirmer ou de rejeter l'idee d'une periode specifique designee par le terme << francais preclassique >>, avec une rupture - ou frontiere chronolectale - detectable autour de 1630 (cf. Ayres-Bennett et Caron, 2016). Afin de verifier dans quelle mesure cette chronologie peut etre confirmee, il est necessaire de multiplier des analyses fines et pointues sur des traits linguistiques qui ont subi des changements a l'epoque en question et d'interroger une gamme de textes qui refletent la variation discursive et pragmatique, au lieu de consulter le canon des traditions textuelles actuellement disponibles sur des bases numerisees, qui sont essentiellement litteraires. C'est pourquoi nous avons consulte des sources de nature differente, qui pourraient attester des usages emergents, a savoir les corpus du Reseau Corpus Francais Preclassique et Classique (RCFC). Seront presentes les resultats de deux etudes de cas (la recategorisation des formes dedans/dessous/dessus/dehors et la montee des clitiques), abondamment discutes par les remarqueurs.},

  abstract  = {En los {\´u}ltimos a{\~n}os, la cr{\´i}tica ha vuelto a enfatizar el v{\´i}nculo de la escritura gongorina la {\´e}pica y los subg{\´e}neros denominados "heroicos" (Mercedes Blanco, Jes{\´u}s Ponce C{\´a}rdenas). Esta nueva perspectiva significa un cambio importante respecto a la recepci{\´o}n del poeta instaurada por la Generaci{\´o}n del 27 y en particular por D{\´a}maso Alonso. Limit{\´a}ndose a las Soledades de G{\´o}ngora, el presente art{\´i}culo explora las consecuencias de este nuevo paradigma, m{\´a}s all{\´a} de un G{\´o}ngora puramente l{\´i}rico. Metodol{\´o}gicamente, proponemos dejar atr{\´a}s la dial{\´e}ctica idealista o marxista de forma-contenido (la ideolog{\´i}a de la forma de Fredric Jameson), por considerarla un enfoque anacr{\´o}nico en el caso de G{\´o}ngora. Sin embargo, encontramos un acercamiento filol{\´o}gico viable en el compromiso de la forma del temprano Barthes, que trata de esquivar la dial{\´e}ctica de forma-contenido y volver a un gesto de escritura ({\´e}criture). La hip{\´o}tesis del presente art{\´i}culo ser{\´i}a, pues, que no se ha reflexionado suficientemente sobre el gesto de la escritura gongorina en las Soledades: una escritura que piratea el lenguaje {\´e}pico.},

  abstract  = {A frequently mentioned if somewhat peripheral figure in the historiography of late nineteenth-century linguistics is the German sinologist and general linguist Georg von der Gabelentz (1840-1893). Today Gabelentz is chiefly remembered for several insights that proved to be productive in the development of subsequent schools and subdisciplines. In this paper, we examine two of these insights, his analytic and synthetic systems of grammar and his foundational work on typology. We show how they were intimately connected within his conception of linguistic research, and how this was in turn embedded in the tradition established by Wilhelm von Humboldt (1767-1835), especially as it was further developed by H. Steinthal (1823-1899). This paper goes beyond several previous works with a similar focus by drawing on a wider range of Gabelentz' writings, including manuscript sources that have only recently been published, and by examining specific textual connections between Gabelentz and his predecessors.},

  abstract  = {Uno sguardo che renda omogenee le teorie della lingua relative al XVII e al XVIII secolo non pu{\`o} cogliere che a grandi linee la realt{\`a} delle concezioni della lingua abbracciate in questo periodo. Il riconoscimento di una teoria cartesiana della lingua come la spiegazione indifferenziata degli sviluppi conseguenti il passaggio da visioni razionalistiche a concezioni orientate ai sensi sono risultato di tale omogeneizzazione, un processo che contempla la realt{\`a} solo in parte. Il pensiero linguistico era contrassegnato da un misto di forme di riflessione di carattere narrativo e di tipo concettuale-razionale che si completavano in modo reciproco. Se l'approccio concettuale tentava di rilevare le propriet{\`a} fondamentali della lingua e ordinarle razionalmente, le forme narrative della riflessione linguistica non si rivolgevano alla lingua in quanto oggetto concettuale. Piuttosto la rappresentavano come oggetto da comprendere. Gli approcci narrativi e concettuali alla lingua prevedono differenze discorsive nelle impostazioni teorico-linguistiche. Anche lo stampo del pensiero teoretico-linguistico contribuisce, attraverso tradizioni differenti, alla molteplicit{\`a} delle vedute teoretico-linguistiche. Per tradizioni intendiamo posizioni dominanti nella riflessione metalinguistica, presenti in contesti regionali, che possono differenziarsi da altre tradizioni. Ad ogni modo, anche il ritardato sviluppo o la ricezione di teorie linguistiche pu{\`o} condurre a differenze caratteristiche. Le teorie linguistiche dell´Illuminismo furono per esempio recepite in Spagna pi{\`u} tardi che in altri Paesi europei. Ci{\`o} condusse all'accettazione sincronica di elementi teorici relativi a teorie diverse e consecutive. Se si concentra l'attenzione al di fuori dell'Europa si verr{\`a} attratti dallo sviluppo degli approcci analoghi alla riflessione linguistica che trovarono sviluppo in Cina all'inizio del XX secolo. Unit{\`a} e diversit{\`a} sono tuttavia rintracciabili non solo sul piano della conoscenza metalinguistica ma anche sul piano dell'oggetto. Una sfida per la descrizione della lingua orientata alla tradizione greco-latina era rappresentata dalle lingue indigene con le quali si stava iniziando ad entrare in contatto attraverso i viaggi di scoperta e in seguito all'inizio del colonialismo. Da affiancare alla comunicazione esogena della trasmissione metalinguistica dei rapporti nell'ambito delle lingue europee sono presenti anche approcci per una percezione della specificit{\`a} categoriale delle lingue americane. Sebbene in alcuni casi non verranno riconosciute le giuste categorizzazioni per le lingue descritte, per lo meno verr{\`a} assodato che le categorie rese note dalla grammatica latina non sussistono. Nella ricerca degli ultimi decenni, la rappresentazione di un paradigma della filosofia della lingua del XVII e del XVIII secolo che postordini e subordini universalmente la molteplicit{\`a} delle lingue a strutture valide di pensiero e che prescriva per la riflessione linguistica categorie fisse di una grammatica generale strettamente orientata alla logica razionalistica {\`e} stata pi{\`u} volte relativizzata. In quanto connessa con la fondatezza dell'unit{\`a} e con l'inalterabilit{\`a} del genere umano a seconda di spazio e tempo, la tesi che le lingue nella loro natura molteplice possano esistere solo alle dipendenze di una struttura universale del pensiero si lasciava catalogare tra quelle posizioni paradigmatiche sussistenti nell'ambito della filosofia della lingua di allora. Attraverso la conoscenza dell'origine storica dell'evoluzione dell'uomo, di tutti i suoi stili di vita e forme di comunicazione, assume rilievo un'altra posizione paradigmatica che attribuisce alla lingua un influsso formativo sul pensiero. Attraverso la differenziazione ideologico-filosofica e la specificit{\`a} nazionale delle sue tesi relative alla lingua in generale e alle lingue storiche in particolare la visione secolarizzata dell'uomo e della societ{\`a} elaborata all'apice dell'Illuminismo si associava allo sviluppo corrispettivo e al cambiamento delle posizioni teorico-linguistiche. Con la proclamazione della lingua e del pensiero come risultati di un lungo sviluppo corrispettivo nella storia dell'umanit{\`a} viene assegnato nuovo valore alle prese di posizione sulla natura e sull'origine della lingua.},

  abstract  = {Der Mensch in der Moderne lebt in einem Spannungsverh{\"a}ltnis zwischen all dem, was nun menschenm{\"o}glich erscheint und dem, was er als Einzelner, aufgrund seines beschr{\"a}nkten Kr{\"a}ftehaushalts, zu leisten vermag. Die notwendige Spezialisierung in einem beschr{\"a}nkten Feld schließt ihn, wie Max Weber es in »Wissenschaft als Beruf« darstellt, von vielen anderen Bereichen aus. Besonders eklatant wird dies in der Zeit der Wende vom 19. zum 20. Jahrhundert empfunden, welche die verschiedensten Versuche hervorbringt, Synthesen zwischen den ausdifferenzierten Wissensgebieten herzustellen. Einen besonderen Stellenwert hat hier das Wissen der Naturwissenschaftler, auf welche noch der materialistische und positivistische Optimismus des 19. Jahrhunderts wirkt. An den Autobiographien des spanischen Histologen Santiago Ram{\´o}n y Cajal (1852-1934) und des deutschen Chemikers Wilhelm Ostwald (1853-1932) zeigt sich exemplarisch, wie naturwissenschaftliche Spezialisten als Autoren auf dieses Spannungsverh{\"a}ltnis reagieren. In drei Kapiteln f{\"u}hrt die literaturwissenschaftliche Untersuchung vor, wie die Autoren sprachliche Formen aus ihrer Spezialisierung entlehnen und f{\"u}r die Darstellung des eigenen Lebens nutzen. Historisch f{\"u}hrt die Lekt{\"u}re zu dem Schluss, dass in diesen Texten eine Verschiebung des Positivismus aus der Philosophie in die Autobiographik stattfindet. Systematisch stellt der im Band entwickelte Begriff des biographischen Lebenswissens einen Versuch dar, das Leben des Einzelnen f{\"u}r die Sinngebung im Text starkzumachen, ohne in Biographismus oder ein Konzept starker Autorschaft zur{\"u}ckzufallen.},

  abstract  = {The paper aims at considering characteristics from one field of contemporary visual studies that has for a long time been neglected in academic research: Pictorial signs on Social Network Sites (SNS) are an outstanding class of semiotic resources that is greatly shaped by processes of technological and collective sign production and distribution. A brief examination of the scholarly research on the pragmatics and semiotics of pictorial signs on SNS shows that the heterogeneity of visual signs is often neglected and that it mostly concentrates on one aspect of these pictorial signs: their technological production or their purpose for individual self-disclosure. The paper therefore considers the semiosis of pictorial signs on SNS in a holistic perspective as one the one hand produced by individual and collective meaning making as well as on the other hand a product of technological framing. It therefore develops a techno-semiotic pragmatic account that takes into consideration both processes. Starting from a prominent class of pictorial signs on SNS during Tunisian Revolution, the Tunisian Flag graphics, the paper than shows that communicative and social interaction functions on the graphic interface of SNS ('like'-function, sharing and commenting option) are not only directly inscribed into the pictorial frame, but also greatly influence the reading of a pictorial sign. The location of images on the SNS' interface has an impact on its meaning and on the social functions of a pictorial sign, as profile pictures are directly linked to the online identity of the user. Through technological sign processing, the polysemy of the image is reduced. We therefore consider the images on the one hand as individual self-narratives and on the other as instances of SNS' visual culture that brings out dominant visual codes but also allows social and political movements to spread.},
