Publication of Habilitations

The habilitation degree regulations of the faculty of mathematics and science, unlike the regulations of the other faculties, provide for the publication of the habilitation. They accept the submission of the electronic version as a publication of the habilitation. For digital archiving, it is necessary to submit the files in the presentation format (e. g. as PDF file) and in the creation format (MS Word, OpenOffice.org Writer, LaTeX, InDesign). Further information on file formats can be found here. In addition to the electronic version, four print versions with a permanent binding (glue binding, thermal binding, VeloBind or hard cover binding, no spiral binding) have to be handed in as specimen copies.

The electronic version of your work must be completely identical with the version approved by the doctoral examination board as well as the print versions submitted at the same time. We therefore ask you not to create the print versions until we have sent you the final version of the PDF file for checking.

When you want to publish a cumulative thesis, the copyright situation for a secondary publication must be clarified in advance. Further information: SHERPA/RoMEO database; Knowledge Base Law: Copyright; Legal Framework

Habilitation candidates who meet the degree requirements for publication of their thesis conventionally by submitting print versions, can publish their dissertations additionally as parallel online publications on the Institutional Repository of the University of Potsdam. It is also possible to publish a dissertation on the institutional repository if the submission in conventional form (print, microfiche, publishing house) and the graduation took place a longer time ago.
