• Es gibt Hunderte, ja Tausende von Listen und Auflistungen im wissenschaftlichen Schaffen Alexander von Humboldts. Sie fügen sich ein in die diskontinuierliche Schreibweise des preußischen Forschers und sind in vielerlei Hinsicht nicht nur wie seine Schriften selbst als vielsprachig, sondern auch als viellogisch zu bezeichnen. Sie repräsentieren Schreibformen, auf welche Humboldt in seinen Amerikanischen Reisetagebüchern als dem wohl besten Zugang zu seinem Denk-, Schreib- und Wissenschaftsstil, aber auch in seinen gedruckten wissenschaftlichen Abhandlungen häufig zurückgriff. Es sind Listen einer Epistemologie ständiger Erweiterung. Sie markieren den Beginn einer transdisziplinären Wissenschaft, die von ihrer Aktualität nichts verloren hat. In unseren Zeiten ökologischer Katastrophen braucht es ein Denken, das unseren Planeten Erde in all seinen Zusammenhängen und Wechselwirkungen erschließt und Sorge dafür trägt, die verschiedenartigen Einwirkungen der Kulturen der Welt auf die Natur nicht länger zu vernachlässigen.
• Il existe des centaines, voire des milliers de listes et de listages dans les travaux scientifiques dʼAlexander von Humboldt. Ils sʼinscrivent dans le style d'écriture discontinu du chercheur prussien et peuvent être décrits à bien des égards non seulement comme multilingues, comme ses écrits eux-mêmes, mais aussi comme polylogiques. Ils représentent des formes dʼécriture que Humboldt a souvent utilisées dans ses carnets de voyage américains, probablement le meilleur accès à son style de pensée, dʼécriture et de recherche, mais aussi dans ses traités scientifiques imprimés. Ce sont des listes dʼune épistémologie en constante expansion. Les listes de Humboldt marquent le début d'une science transdisciplinaire qui n'a rien perdu de son actualité. En ces temps de catastrophes écologiques, nous avons besoin dʼun mode de pensée qui ouvre notre planète Terre dans tous ses contextes et interactions et qui fasse en sorte que les diverses influences des cultures du monde sur la nature ne soient plus négligées.
• There are hundreds, even thousands of lists and listings in the scientific work of Alexander von Humboldt. They fit into the discontinuous style of writing of the Prussian researcher and in many respects can be described not only as multilingual, like his writings themselves, but also as polylogical. They represent forms of writing that Humboldt often used in his American Travel Diaries, probably the best access to his style of thinking, writing and research, but also in his printed scientific treatises. They are lists of an epistemology of constant expansion. Humboldtʼs lists mark the beginning of a transdisciplinary science that has lost none of its topicality today. In our times of ecological catastrophes, we need a way of thinking that opens up our planet Earth in all its contexts and interactions and ensures that the various influences of the world's cultures on nature are no longer neglected.
