N2  - Hat Alexander von Humboldt vor den dramatischen Folgen des vom Menschen verursachten Klimawandels gewarnt? Ausgehend von dieser Frage befasst sich der Beitrag mit seinen Klimastudien und zeigt dabei, welch enorme Wirkung diese für viele Länder der Welt hatten. Zahlreiche Aufforstungsmaßnahmen wurden im 19. Jahrhundert durch Humboldts Studien angeregt. Humboldt hat zudem – wohl als erster – die klimaverändernde Wirkung von „großen Dampf- und Gasmassen an den Mittelpunkten der Industrie“ erkannt und außerdem im 3. Band des Kosmos auch den Treibhauseffekt beschrieben. Die Bedrohungen des stetig zunehmenden anthropogenen Klimawandels jedoch konnte er nicht ahnen. Seine und auch die Erkenntnisse der anderen Klimaforscher des 19. Jhds. gerieten Anfang des 20. Jhds. in Vergessenheit. Der gerissene Rezeptionsfaden wurde erst mit der Umweltbewegung in den 1970er Jahren wieder aufgenommen und Alexander von Humboldt als Klimaforscher und „erster Ökologe“ neu bewertet.
N2  - Did Alexander von Humboldt warn about the dramatic consequences of man-made climate change? Based on this question, the article deals with his climate studies and shows the enormous impact this had for many countries in the world. Numerous afforestation attempts were initiated in the 19th century by Humboldt's studies. In addition, Humboldt was the first to recognize the climate-changing effect of "large vapor and gas masses at the centers of industry", and also described the greenhouse effect in Volume 3 of the Cosmos. However, he could not foresee the threats of increasing anthropogenic climate change. His and also the findings of the other climate researchers of the 19th century fell into oblivion at the beginning of the 20th century. The ripped reception thread was then resumed with the environmental movement in the 1970s and Alexander von Humboldt was reassessed as climate researcher and "first ecologist".
N2  - ¿Advirtió Alexander von Humboldt sobre las dramáticas consecuencias del cambio climático provocado por el hombre? Con base en esta pregunta, el artículo trata sobre sus estudios climáticos y muestra el enorme impacto que esto tuvo en muchos países del mundo. Numerosas medidas de forestación se iniciaron en el siglo XIX gracias a los estudios de Humboldt. Además, Humboldt fue el primero en reconocer el efecto de cambio climático de las „grandes masas de vapor y gas en los centros de la industria“, y también describió el efecto invernadero en el Volumen 3 de su obra Cosmos. Sin embargo, él no podía prever las amenazas de un cambio climático antropogénico. Sus hallazgos y los de otros investigadores sobre el clima en el siglo XIX cayeron en el olvido a principios del siglo XX. El hilo roto de la recepción se reanudó con el movimiento ecologista en la década de 1970 y Alexander von Humboldt fue reevaluado como investigador del clima y „primer ecólogo“.

N2  - Untersucht werden die von BulwienGesa erhobenen und aufbereiteten jahresdurchschnittlichen Wiederverkaufspreise von Eigentumswohnungen und Einfamilienhäusern in 401 kreisfreien Städten und Landkreisen für die Jahre 2004–2017. Dabei zeigt sich eine Zunahme der regionalen Streuung im Zeitverlauf vor allem in der auf die Finanzkrise 2007–2009 folgenden Zeit. Im Durchschnitt der Regionen (Landkreise und kreisfreie Städte) steigen die Preise; sie entwickeln sich aber regional stark unterschiedlich (in manchen Regionen stagnieren sie oder sind gefallen). Dies führt auch zur Zunahme der Variationskoeffizienten, also der relativen Streuung der regionalen Preise. Dies deutet auf eine Zunahme der regionalen Disparitäten in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Besondere Divergenzen zeigen sich zwischen den alten und den neuen Bundesländern, wie auch zwischen prosperierenden kreisfreien Städten und deren Umland und ökonomisch schwächeren Städten und Landkreisen.

Die Casa Museo Humboldt an einem historischen Ort der Altstadt wird damit zum weltweit ersten Alexander von Humboldt-Museum. In kubanischer-deutscher Kooperation erarbeitet, zeigt die Ausstellung Humboldt auf zwei Ebenen: im Kontext seiner Naturerforschung und dem seiner Begegnungen auf der fünfjährigen Amerikareise. Die Ausstellung richtet sich an kubanische wie internationale Besucher. Sie wirft einen hintergründigen und aktuellen Blick auf Humboldt in Amerika und versteht sich als Partner und Forum für Wissenschaft, Bildung und Kultur in Kuba.

The Casa Museo Humboldt in Havana’s historic center will be the world’s first museum dedicated to Alexander von Humboldt. Developed in Cuban-German cooperation, the exhibition follows two main perspectives on Humboldt: the context of his research about nature and that of his human encounters during his five-year trip to America. The exhibition is focused both on a Cuban and an international public. N2  - Bei der Analyse von höherdimensionalen Daten kann deren Gestalt wichtige Informationen über den Datensatz liefern. Bei einer gegebenen Punktwolke, die aus einem unbekannten topologischen Raum ausgewählt wurde, versucht die Topologische Datenanalyse (TDA) den ursprünglichen Raum zu rekonstruieren. Dieser Beitrag soll eine Einführung in die Topologische Datenanalyse geben und konzentriert sich dabei auf zwei wichtige Aspekte: die Persistente Homologie und den Mapper. Dabei werden zuerst die notwendigen theoretischen Grundlagen vorgestellt und anschließend wird die Methodik bei der Visualisierung von Daten eingesetzt.
Die Persistente Homologie ist eines der Standardwerkzeuge in der TDA. Sie findet ihre Anwendung beispielsweise in den Bereichen Formerkennung und -beschreibung. Der Mapper als zweites wichtiges Konzept der TDA wandelt umfangreiche, höherdimensionale Datensätze in Simplizialkomplexe um und kann dadurch geometrische und topologische Eigenschaften der Daten bestimmen. Des Weiteren ist die Mapper-Methode ein brauchbares Werkzeug zur Visualisierungen von mehrdimensionalen Daten, woran statistische Verfahren scheitern.
N2  - In the analysis of higher-dimensional data their shape can provide important information about the dataset. Given a point cloud sampled from an unknown topological space, topological data analysis tries to reconstruct the original space. This paper provides an introduction into topological data analysis (TDA) and focuses on two important aspects: Persistent Homology and Mapper. First, the theoretical basics are introduced and then the methodology is applied to visualize data.
Persistent Homology represents a standard tools in the TDA. This approach is used, for example, in shape recognition and description. The Mapper is a second important concept of the TDA and converts wide, higher-dimensional datasets into simplicial complexes. By that it can determine geometric and topological properties of the data. Furthermore, the Mapper method is a useful tool for the visualization of multi-dimensional data, where statistical methods fail.

Zusammen mit einem unveröffentlichten Manuskript Humboldts sind Teile dieser Sammlung, Originaletiketten sowie die damalige Bestandsliste im Museum für Naturkunde Berlin erhalten. Dieses Marmor-Ensemble wird im vorliegenden Beitrag im Kontext von Reise- und Sammeltraditionen, von wissenschaftsgeschichtlichen Klassifizierungen antiker Marmore sowie in Humboldts Werkzusammenhang vorgestellt.
N2  - During his stay in Rome in 1805, Humboldt undertook a study of antique types of marble and assembled a collection. Together with an unpublished manuscript by Humboldt, parts of this collection as well as original labels and the contemporary inventory list are preserved in the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin (Berlin Natural History Museum). In this contribution, this marble collection is presented in the contexts of traditions of travelling and collecting, of classifications of antique marble within the history of science, and of Humboldt’s work as a whole.
N2  - Lors de son séjour à Rome en 1805, Humboldt entreprit une étude des types de marbre anciens et rassembla une collection. Avec un manuscrit inédit de Humboldt, des parties de cette collection ainsi que des étiquettes originales et la liste contemporaine d'inventaire sont conservées au Museum für Naturkunde Berlin (Musée d'histoire naturelle de Berlin). Dans cette contribution, cette collection de marbre est présentée dans le contexte des traditions de voyage et de collection, des classifications du marbre antique dans l'histoire de la science et de l'œuvre de Humboldt dans son ensemble.

Der Dichter sandte Humboldt eine handschriftliche Kopie seines Werkes zu dessen 78. Geburtstag. Humboldt reagierte auf dieses Geschenk mit einer Einladung Lepels, den das persönliche Treffen mit dem berühmten Gelehrten ehrte aber auch enttäuschte, denn Humboldt ging nur oberflächlich auf die Ode ein, stattdessen las er seinem Gast aus dem zweiten Band des Kosmos vor. Allerdings erhielt Lepel Empfehlungsbriefe für Ludwig Tieck. Die Begegnung des Dichters mit Humboldt hat ihren Niederschlag vor allem in der Korrespondenz zwischen Bernhard von Lepel und seinem engen Freund Theodor Fontane gefunden.
N2  - The first volume of Humboldt’s Kosmos inspired the Prussian military officer and poet Bernhard von Lepel to write the ode An Humboldt (1847). The poet sent a handwritten copy of his work to Humboldt as a gift for his 78th birthday. Humboldt reacted by inviting Lepel to his apartment. Lepel was honoured to meet Humboldt, but was also disappointed, for Humboldt talked only briefly about the ode, reading to his guest from volume two of his Kosmos instead. However, Lepel received letters of introduction for Ludwig Tieck. The poet’s meeting with Humboldt is above all reflected in the correspondence between Bernhard von Lepel and his close friend Theodor Fontane.
