N2  - Die Worte „entjuden“ und „Entjudung“ sind sprachlicher Ausdruck zumeist judenfeindlicher Haltungen und Taten in der deutschen Geschichte. Der Beitrag zeichnet die Entwicklung des Begriffs anhand seiner Verwendungszusammenhänge nach. Im Kontext der Assimilation des beginnenden 19. Jahrhunderts meinte der Terminus, dass man sich jener jüdischen „Eigenheit“ zu entkleiden habe, welche als Postulat gemeinhin Konsens war. Innerhalb der innerjüdischen Diskussion wird „Entjudung“ zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts zum diagnostischen Ausdruck des Identitätsverlustes. Als politischer Kampfbegriff der Nationalsozialisten ist er wiederum zum Synonym für die Entrechtung und Vernichtung jüdischer Menschen geworden. Protestantische Theologen verwendeten diesen Begriff in der Debatte um die Erneuerung des Christentums, was durch die Entfernung jüdischer Einflüsse geschehen sollte. Bereits Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts formuliert, findet diese Forderung in der 1939 erfolgten Gründung des Instituts zur Erforschung und Beseitigung des jüdischen Einflusses auf das deutsche kirchliche Leben seine programmatische Umsetzung.
N2  - The terms “de-Jewing” and “dejudaisation” are verbal expressions of mostly hostile attitudes and actions against Jews in German history. This paper traces the development of these terms on the basis of the context of utilisation. In the assimilation context of the beginning 19th century they implied to divest from that postulate of “Jewish singularity” asserted as a general consensus. Within the inner-Jewish debate at the beginning of the 20th century “dejudaisation” turned into a diagnostic expression for the loss of identity. As a National Socialist battle cry it is again as a synonym for the deprivation and annihilation of the Jewish population. Protestant theologians utilized the term in the debate about a renovation of Christianity. This was supposed to happen by a removal of Jewish influences. Verbalized already at the end of the 18th century, this demand is implemented in the foundation of the Institute for the Study and Elimination of Jewish Influence on German Church Life.
