N2  - Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system customization is often necessary because companies have unique processes that provide their competitive advantage. Despite new technological advances such as cloud computing or model-driven development, technical ERP customization options are either outdated or ambiguously formulated in the scientific literature. Using a systematic literature review (SLR) that analyzes 137 definitions from 26 papers, the result is an analysis and aggregation of technical customization types by providing clearance and aligning with future organizational needs. The results show a shift from ERP code modification in on-premises systems to interface and integration customization in cloud ERP systems, as well as emerging technological opportunities as a way for customers and key users to perform system customization. The study contributes by providing a clear understanding of given customization types and assisting ERP users and vendors in making customization decisions.

N2  - Online photographs govern an individual’s choices across a variety of contexts. In sharing arrangements, facial appearance has been shown to affect the desire to collaborate, interest to explore a listing, and even willingness to pay for a stay. Because of the ubiquity of online images and their influence on social attitudes, it seems crucial to be able to control these aspects. The present study examines the effect of different photographic self-disclosures on the provider’s perceptions and willingness to accept a potential co-sharer. The findings from our experiment in the accommodation-sharing context suggest social attraction mediates the effect of photographic self-disclosures on willingness to host. Implications of the results for IS research and practitioners are discussed.

N2  - During a crisis event, social media enables two-way communication and many-to-many information broadcasting, browsing others’ posts, publishing own content, and public commenting. These records can deliver valuable insights to approach problematic situations effectively. Our study explores how social media communication can be analyzed to understand the responses to health crises better. Results based on nearly 800 K tweets indicate that the coping and regulation foci framework holds good explanatory power, with four clusters salient in public reactions: 1) “Understanding” (problem-promotion); 2) “Action planning” (problem-prevention); 3) “Hope” (emotion-promotion) and 4) “Reassurance” (emotion-prevention). Second, the inter-temporal analysis shows high volatility of topic proportions and a shift from self-centered to community-centered topics during the course of the event. The insights are beneficial for research on crisis management and practicians who are interested in large-scale monitoring of their audience for well-informed decision-making.

N2  - Helping overcome distance, the use of videoconferencing tools has surged during the pandemic. To shed light on the consequences of videoconferencing at work, this study takes a granular look at the implications of the self-view feature for meeting outcomes. Building on self-awareness research and self-regulation theory, we argue that by heightening the state of self-awareness, self-view engagement depletes participants’ mental resources and thereby can undermine online meeting outcomes. Evaluation of our theoretical model on a sample of 179 employees reveals a nuanced picture. Self-view engagement while speaking and while listening is positively associated with self-awareness, which, in turn, is negatively associated with satisfaction with meeting process, perceived productivity, and meeting enjoyment. The criticality of the communication role is put forward: looking at self while listening to other attendees has a negative direct and indirect effect on meeting outcomes; however, looking at self while speaking produces equivocal effects.

N2  - Despite the phenomenal growth of Big Data Analytics in the last few years, little research is done to explicate the relationship between Big Data Analytics Capability (BDAC) and indirect strategic value derived from such digital capabilities. We attempt to address this gap by proposing a conceptual model of the BDAC - Innovation relationship using dynamic capability theory. The work expands on BDAC business value research and extends the nominal research done on BDAC – innovation. We focus on BDAC's relationship with different innovation objects, namely product, business process, and business model innovation, impacting all value chain activities. The insights gained will stimulate academic and practitioner interest in explicating strategic value generated from BDAC and serve as a framework for future research on the subject

N2  - This article provides some insights into the complex relationships between thinking and behavioral patterns, bio­ graphical aspects and teaching style. The data was analyzed in the Grounded Theory tradition and with the help of ATLAS.ti. The results presented here offer preliminary findings only since the research is still ongoing. The focus is on the ways teachers deal with mistakes. Based on two case examples, it will be shown how the fear of making mistakes can lead to teacher-centered lessons, and thereby limiting pupils' possibilities to learn autonomously.

N2  - The “output-orientation” is omnipresent in teacher education. In order to evaluate teachers' and students' performances, a wide range of different quantitative questionnaires exist worldwide. One important goal of teaching evaluation is to increase the quality of teaching and learning. The author argues, that standard evaluations which are typically made at the end of the semester are problematic due to two reasons. The first one is that some of the questions are too general and don`t offer concrete ideas as to what kind of actions can be taken to make the courses better. The second problem is that the evaluation is mostly made when the course is already over. Because of this criticism, Apelojg invented the Felix-App which offers the possibility to give feedback in real-time by asking for the emotions and needs that occur during different learning situations. The idea is very simple: positive emotions and satisfied needs are helpful for the learning process. Negative emotions and unsatisfied needs have negative effects on the learning process. First descriptive results show, that “managing emotions” during classes can have positive effects on both motivation and emotions.

N2  - Die Konferenz „International Conference for the 10th Anniversary of the Institute of Comparative Law” hat am 24. Mai 2013 in Szeged stattgefunden. Im Rahmen der viersprachigen Konferenz haben mehr als dreißig Teilnehmer ihre Forschungsergebnisse präsentiert. Der Essay von Zoltán Péteri blickt auf die Disziplin aus der Perspektive der Wissenschaftsgeschichte. Katalin Kelemen und Balázs Fekete gehen in ihrem Aufsatz der Frage nach, welchen Weg die Versuche der Klassifikation der Rechtssysteme von Osteuropa in der späten Phase der Umbrüche der 1980/90er Jahren genommen haben. Die historische Betrachtungsweise mit Bezug auf Rechtsgeschichte und Rechtsvergleichung spiegelt sich auch in anderen Essays wider, vor allem in den Aufsätzen von Szilvia Bató, Magdolna Gedeon und Béla Szabó P. sowie auch in den Aufsätzen von Péter Mezei und Tünde Szűcs. Attila Badó analysiert die Rechtsvergleichung aus der Sicht des Rechts, der Soziologie und der Politikwissenschaft anhand von Untersuchungen über das Sanktionsystem der Richter in den USA. Diese politikwissenschaftliche Seite wird auch in den Aufsätzen über die aktuellen Fragen der europäischen Integration von Carine Guemar und Laureline Congnard betont. Eine Reihe von Aufsätzen behandeln die konventionelle normative Komparatistik auf dem Gebiet des Verfassungsrechts (Jordane Arlettaz und Péter Kruzslicz), Gesellschaftsrechts (Kitti Bakos-Kovács), Urheberrechts (Dóra Hajdú) und Steuerrechts (Judit Jacsó). Daneben bilden eine weitere Gruppe die Aufsätze von János Bóka und Erzsébet Csatlós, die die Verwendung der vergleichenden Methode in der Praxis der Rechtsprechung untersuchen. Die Rechtsvergleichung ist eine sich dynamisch entwickelnde Disziplin. Die Konferenz und dieser Band dienen nicht nur der Würdigung der bisherigen Arbeit des Instituts für Rechtsvergleichung, sondern zeigen gleichzeitig neue Ziele auf. Die wichtigsten Grundsätze bleiben aber fest verankert auch in einem sich stets verändernden rechtlichen und geistigen Umfeld. Das Motto des Instituts lautet „instruere et docere omnes qui edoceri desiderant“ – „alle lehren, die lernen wollen.“ Auch in den folgenden Jahrzehnten werden uns der Wille des Lernens und Lehrens, die Freiheit der Forschung sowie die Übertragung und Weiterentwicklung der ungarischen wie globalen Rechtskultur leiten.

Der Beitrag des Ministers der Justiz von Ungarn, László Trócsányi, befasst sich mit dem Thema Demokratie, Identität und Rechtsstaat – die europäische Integration und die Mitgliedstaaten. Entwickelt wird eine Vision der Europäischen Union, die statt auf fortschreitender Zentralisierung stärker auf einer gleichberechtigten Kooperation der Mitgliedstaaten basiert. Die nationalen Verfassungsidentitäten sollen als unentbehrliche Bestandteile der nationalen Souveränität nicht der europäischen Integration geopfert werden. Vor allem der Grundsatz vom Vorrang des Unionsrechts wird in diesem Zusammenhang kritisch hinterfragt. „Integrationswut“ gelte es zu verhindern. Die Rechtsstaatlichkeit einzelner Mitgliedstaaten dürfe durch die Union nicht infrage gestellt werden.
In seiner Abschlussvorlesung geht Detlev W. Belling der Frage nach, ob und inwieweit die Ausübung der Gnadenbefugnisse durch die Gnadenträger in einem säkularen und republikanischen Rechtsstaat der gerichtlichen Kontrolle unterliegen sollte. Detailliert werden in diesem Zusammenhang nicht nur die bisherige Rechtsprechung des Bundesverfassungsgerichts und das breit gefächerte Meinungsspektrum der Literatur abgebildet. Anhand einer Vielzahl von Beispielen aus der ferneren und unmittelbaren Geschichte wird die Entwicklung des Gnadenrechts nachgezeichnet. Missbrauchsgefahren, wie sie nicht nur kennzeichnend für Diktaturen und Monarchien sind, werden aufgezeigt. Die Erkenntnisse aus der historischen Darstellung aufgreifend, wird anhand einer umfassenden Analyse der geltenden Rechtslage nachgewiesen, aus welchen Gründen die Konstitutionalisierung des Begnadigungsrechts geboten ist.

N2  - Die zwölfte Konferenz des Forschungskreises Vereinte Nationen wurde am 28. Juni 2014 an der Universität Potsdam veranstaltet und stand unter dem Thema „Konzepte für die Reform der Vereinten Nationen“. Dabei wurde das komplexe Verhältnis zwischen Reformnotwendigkeit und Machbarkeits­erwartungen einerseits und ausgebliebenen weitreichenden Strukturreformen und erfolgten „kleineren“, pragmatischen Reformschritten andererseits deutlich. Mit den vier Referaten stellte die Konferenz in der Tradition der Potsdamer UNO-Konferenzen die Verbindung von Wissenschaft und Praxis unter Beteiligung unterschiedlicher Disziplinen her.
Mit der Broschüre soll allen Interessierten die Möglichkeit gegeben werden, Einblick in ausgewählte Schwerpunkte der Reformdiskussion zu erhalten: 
An ein Grundsatzreferat zu bisherigen Reformprozessen im UN-System ins­gesamt schließen sich drei Texte an, die das Verhältnis zwischen den Vereinten Nationen und den nichtstaatlichen Akteuren in den Blick nehmen, die relativ neue Institution des Menschenrechtsrates als Teil der Reform­bemühungen betrachten und schließlich Ergebnisse und Trends bei den Reformen der Arbeitsmethoden des Sicherheitsrates erörtern.

N2  - To date, sex and gender differences play only a minor role in medical research and practice, thereby putting individuals’ health at risk. Gender-specific medicine, or the practice of taking these differences into account when conducting research and treating patients so far is being discussed primarily by experts. With people increasingly using social media such as Twitter for sharing and searching for health-related information online, Twitter can potentially educate about gender-specific medicine. However, little is known about the information circulation and the structure of interactions on the Twitter network discussing this topic. Results of a network analysis show that the network exhibits a community-structure, with information exchange being limited and concentrated in silos. This indicates that there is untapped potential for acquiring new information by users through interacting with individuals outside their community. Public health officials may benefit from this insight and tailor online campaigns to enhance awareness on gender-specific medicine.

N2  - Die Schule steckt mitten in einem Umbruch: Dieser wird durch verschiedene Faktoren wie sinkende Schülerzahlen, Zu- und Abwanderungen von Familien mit ihren Kindern, wachsenden Zahlen von Schulpflichtigen mit Migrationshintergrund und anderes mehr gekennzeichnet. Damit steht die Schule vor neuen Herausforderungen. Außerdem hält der Trend zum Gymnasium an. Auch wechselvolle Dauerreformen schaffen unübersichtliche Schulstrukturen und erschweren sichere Orientierung. Und: Im zunehmend raueren Wettbewerb der Schultypen laufen den öffentlichen Schulen immer mehr Schüler davon und zu den Privatschulen über. Schon jetzt sehen sich zahlreiche Kommunen gezwungen, ihre Bildungsangebote zurückzuschrauben und ihre Schulen zu schließen.

Kann eine Kommune ihren Bürgern aber nicht mehr die schulische „Grundversorgung“ anbieten, so hat dies weitreichende Folgen. Wo Schulen schließen müssen, „stirbt auch der Ort“. Ein umfangreiches, vielfältiges und flächendeckendes Bildungsangebot dagegen ist für die Kommune tragender Pfeiler einer funktionsfähigen Infrastruktur. Hier setzt die 21. Fachtagung des Kommunalwissenschaftlichen Institutes der Universität Potsdam an. Sie behandelt zentrale Themen der nachhaltigen Gewährleistung schulischer Infrastruktur in den Kommunen einschließlich der dazugehörigen Erfahrungsberichte, die über Best-Practice-Modelle sowie über Erfolgsbedingungen und Fallstricke in der Verwaltungspraxis informieren. Damit gibt die Tagung zugleich Impulse den kommunalen Entscheidungsträgern für die Generierung von und den Umgang mit Gestaltungsoptionen zur Standortsicherung im kommunalen Bildungsmanagement.

N2  - Inequality in the distribution of economic wealth within populations has been rising steadily over the past century, having reached unprecedented highs in many Western societies. However, this development is not reflected in people’s perceptions of wealth inequality, as the public tends to underestimate it. Research suggests that inequality estimates are derived from personal reference groups, which, as we propose, are expanded by social network site (SNS) use. As content on SNSs frequently revolves around events of consumption, signaling enhanced overall population wealth, this study tests the hypothesis that SNS use distorts inequality perceptions downward, i.e., increases the perception of societal equality. Responses of 534 survey participants in the United States confirm that SNS use negatively predicts perceived inequality. The relationship is stronger the more SNS users perceive the content they encounter online as real, supporting the assumption that observing other people’s behavior online lowers estimates of nationwide wealth inequality. These findings provide novel insights on inequality misperceptions by suggesting individuals’ SNS use as a new predictor of perceived wealth inequality.

N2  - E-Mail tracking mechanisms gather information on individual recipients’ reading behavior. Previous studies show that e-mail newsletters commonly include tracking elements. However, prior work does not examine the degree to which e-mail senders actually employ gathered user information. The paper closes this research gap by means of an experimental study to clarify the use of tracking-based infor- mation. To that end, twelve mail accounts are created, each of which subscribes to a pre-defined set of newsletters from companies based in Germany, the UK, and the USA. Systematically varying e-mail reading patterns across accounts, each account simulates a different type of user with individual read- ing behavior. Assuming senders to track e-mail reading habits, we expect changes in mailer behavior. The analysis confirms the prominence of tracking in that over 92% of the newsletter e-mails contain tracking images. For 13 out of 44 senders an adjustment of communication policy in response to user reading behavior is observed. Observed effects include sending newsletters at different times, adapting advertised products to match the users’ IT environment, increased or decreased mailing frequency, and mobile-specific adjustments. Regarding legal issues, not all companies that adapt the mail-sending behavior state the usage of such mechanisms in their privacy policy.

N2  - E-mail advertisement, as one instrument in the marketing mix, allows companies to collect fine-grained behavioural data about individual users’ e-mail reading habits realised through sophisticated tracking mechanisms. Such tracking can be harmful for user privacy and security. This problem is especially severe since e-mail tracking techniques gather data without user consent. Striving to increase privacy and security in e-mail communication, the paper makes three contributions. First, a large database of newsletter e-mails is developed. This data facilitates investigating the prevalence of e- mail tracking among 300 global enterprises from Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. Second, countermeasures are developed for automatically identifying and blocking e-mail tracking mechanisms without impeding the user experience. The approach consists of identifying important tracking descriptors and creating a neural network-based detection model. Last, the effectiveness of the proposed approach is established by means of empirical experimentation. The results suggest a classification accuracy of 99.99%.

N2  - Today’s mobile devices are part of powerful business ecosystems, which usually involve digital platforms. To better understand the complex phenomenon of coring and related dynamics, this paper presents a case study comparing iMessage as part of Apple’s iOS and WhatsApp. Specifically, it investigates activities regarding platform coring, as the integration of several functionalities provided by third-party applications in the platform core. The paper makes three contributions. First, a systematization of coring activities is developed. Coring modes are differentiated by the amount of coring and application maintenance. Second, the case study revealed that the phenomenon of platform coring is present on digital platforms for mobile devices. Third, the fundamentals of coring are discussed as a first step towards theoretical development. Even though coring constitutes a potential threat for third-party developers regarding their functional differentiation, an idea of what a beneficial partnership incorporating coring activities could look like is developed here.

N2  - The idea of the continuous improvement process (CIP) helps companies to continuously improve their operation and thereby contributes to their competitiveness. Through digi tization, new potentials emerge to solve known CIP issues. This contribution specifically addresses the individual motivation of employees to contribute to the CIP. Typically, related initiatives lack contributions over time. The use of gamification is a promising way to achieve continuous participation by addressing the individual needs of participants. While the use of extrinsic motivation elements is common in practice, the idea of this approach is to specifically address intrinsic motivations which serve as a long-term motivator. This article contributes to a gam-ification concept for the continuous improvement process. The main results include an adapted CIP, a gamification concept, and a market mechanism. Furthermore, the concept is implemented and demonstrated as a prototype in an online platform.

N2  - Software platforms allow for the extension of features by third-party contributors. Thereby, platform innovation is an important aspects of platforms attractiveness for users and complementors. While previous research focused the introduction of new features, the aspect of feature removal and discontinued features on software platforms has been disregarded. To explore the phenomenon and motivations for feature removal on software platforms, a review of recent literature is provided. To illustrate the existence of and motivations for feature removal, a case study of the browser platform Mozilla Firefox is presented. The results reveal feature removal to regularly occur on browser platforms for user- and developer-related features. Frequent reasons for feature removal involve unused features, security concerns, and bugs. Related motivations for feature removal are discussed from the platform owner's perspective. Implications for complementors and users are highlighted.

N2  - Modern web browsers are digital software platforms, as they allow third-parties to extend functionality by providing extensions. Given the intense competition, differentiation through provided functionality is a key factor for browser platforms. As browsers progress, they constantly release new features. Browsers might thereby enter complementary markets if they add functionality formerly provided by third-party extensions, which is referred to as ‘platform coring’. Previous studies missed the perspective of the involved parties. To address this gap, we conduct interviews with third-party and core developers in the security and privacy domain from Firefox and Chrome. In essence, the study provides three contributions. First, insights into stakeholder-specific issues concerning coring. Second, measures to prevent coring. Third, strategical guidance for developers and owners. Third-parties experienced and core developers acknowledged coring to occur on browser platforms. While developers with extrinsic motivations assess coring negatively, developers with intrinsic motivations perceive coring positively.

their portability. As literature shows, technology use is not only beneficial but also has dark sides, such as addiction. Parents face the need to balance perceived benefits and risks of children’s exposure to mobile technologies. However, no study has uncovered what kind of benefits and concerns parents consider when implementing technology-related rules. We built on qualitative responses of 300
parents of children aged two to thirteen to explore concerns about, and perceived benefits of children’s smartphone and tablet usage, as well as the rules parents have developed regarding technology use. Findings point to concerns regarding children’s development, as well as benefits for both children and parents, and ultimately to new insights about mobile technology mediation. These results provide practical guidance for parents, physicians and mobile industry
stakeholders, trying to ensure that children are acting responsibly with mobile technology.

N2  - One area that is supported by the project “Qualitätsoffensive Lehrerbildung” (funded by BMBF) is the improvement of collaboration and coordination between studies in the discipline, studies in pedagogical content knowledge, and studies in pedagogical knowledge during teacher education at university. Aiming a better coordination among these three parts of teacher education at university, many of the supported projects have designed and realized university-specific approaches. 
 
This conference proceedings volume comprises contributions by 15 of these projects. Seven of those were introduced and discussed in workshops on the occasion of two cross-regional project-conferences in Hannover and Potsdam. Overall, the contributions give a theoretically funded as well as a practice-oriented overview of current approaches and concepts to achieve a better connection between study units concerning studies in content knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge and pedagogical knowledge in teacher education. The volume presents university projects, which take effect on different levels (at the level of curriculum and content, at a collegiate level, at the level of structural conditions of universities). The different approaches are described in a way that they can provide a basis for transfer to other subjects or further universities.  

The contributions are aimed at teacher educators as well as other actors working in the field of teaching- and quality development at universities. All of them can take transferable ideas and impulses from the described concepts and formats.
N2  - Eine verbesserte Zusammenarbeit und Abstimmung von Fachwissenschaft, Fachdidaktik, Bildungswissenschaften und schulpraktischen Lernorten ist einer der Förderbereiche der „Qualitätsoffensive Lehrerbildung“. Zahlreiche der geförderten Projekte haben für dieses Handlungsfeld im Bereich Vernetzung von Fachwissenschaft, Fachdidaktik und Bildungswissenschaften hochschulspezifische Maßnahmen konzipiert und umgesetzt.

Der vorliegende Tagungsband beinhaltet Beiträge von 15 entsprechenden Projekten, von denen sieben anlässlich von zwei standortübergreifenden Projekt-Tagungen in Hannover und Potsdam vorgestellt und in Workshops diskutiert wurden. Insgesamt geben die Beiträge einen theoretisch fundierten und gleichzeitig praxisorientierten Überblick über aktuelle Ansätze und Konzepte zur besseren Vernetzung fachwissenschaftlicher, fachdidaktischer und bildungswissenschaftlicher Studienanteile im Lehramtsstudium. Dargestellt werden Projektarbeiten der Hochschulen, die auf verschiedenen Ebenen wirksam werden (curricular-inhaltliche Ebene, kollegiale Ebene, hochschul-strukturelle Ebene). Die Maßnahmen sind so beschrieben, dass sie als Grundlage für einen Transfer auf andere Fächer bzw. andere Standorte genutzt werden können.

Die Beiträge richten sich an alle Lehrenden im Bereich der Lehramtsbildung sowie sonstige Akteure im Bereich der Lehr- und Qualitätsentwicklung an den Universitäten. Sie alle können den beschriebenen Konzepten und Umsetzungsformaten transferierbare Ideen und Impulse entnehmen.

N2  - The rise of open source models for software and hardware development has catalyzed the debate regarding sustainable business models. Open Source Software has already become a dominant part in the software industry, whereas Open Source Hardware is still a little-researched phenomenon but has the potential to do the same to manufacturing in a wide range of products. This article addresses this potential by introducing a research design to analyze the prototyping phase of six different Open Source Hardware projects tackling ecological, social, and economical challenges. Using a design science research methodology, a process model is developed to concretise the prototype development steps. The prototype phase is important because it is where fundamental decisions are made that affect the openness of the final product. This paper aims to advance the discourse on open production as a concept that enables companies to apply the aspect of openness towards collaboration-oriented and sustainable business models.

N2  - A stronger learner orientation through participatory learning increases learning motivation and results. But what does participatory learning mean? Where do learning factories and fabrication laboratories (FabLabs) stand in this context, and how can didactic implementation be improved in this respect? Using a newly developed analytical framework, which contains elements of the stage model of participation and general media didactics, we compare a FabLab and a learning factory example concerning the degree of participation. From this, we derive guidelines for designing participative teaching and learning processes in learning factories. We explain how FabLabs can be an inspiration for the didactic design of learning factories.

N2  - Der Tagungsband zum E-Learning Symposium 2014 an der Universität Potsdam beleuchtet die diversen Zielgruppen und Anwendungsbereiche, die aktuell in der E-Learning-Forschung angesprochen werden. Während im letzten Symposium 2012 der Dozierende mit den unterschiedlichen Möglichkeiten der Studierendenaktivierung und Lehrgestaltung im Fokus der Diskussionen stand, werden in diesem Jahr in einem großen Teil der Beiträge die Studierenden ins Zentrum der Aufmerksamkeit gerückt. Dass nicht nur der Inhalt des Lernmediums für den Lernerfolg eine Rolle spielt, sondern auch dessen Unterhaltungswert und die Freude, die die Lernenden während des Prozesses der Wissensakquise empfinden, zeigt sehr anschaulich die Keynote von Linda Breitlauch zum Thema „Faites vos Jeux“ (Spielen Sie jetzt). Der Beitrag von Zoerner et al. verbindet den Gedanken des spiele-basierten Lernens mit dem nach wie vor aktuellen Thema des mobilen Lernens. Auch in diesem Forschungsbereich spielt die Fokussierung auf den Lernenden eine immer herausragendere Rolle. Einen Schritt weiter in Richtung Individualisierung geht in diesem Zusammenhang der eingeladene Vortrag von Christoph Rensing, der sich mit der Adaptivität von mobilen Lernanwendungen beschäftigt. Mit Hilfe zur Verfügung stehender Kontextinformationen sollen gezielt individuelle Lernprozesse unterstützt werden. Alle Beiträge, die sich auf mobile Applikationen und auf Spiele beziehen, sprechen auch die zwischenmenschliche Komponente am Lernen an. So wird neben der Mobilität insbesondere auch der Austausch von Lernobjekten zwischen Lernenden (vergleiche den Beitrag von Zoerner et al.) sowie die Kooperation zwischen Lernenden (siehe Beitrag von Kallookaran und Robra-Bissantz) diskutiert. Der interpersonelle Kontakt spielt allerdings ebenfalls in den Beiträgen ohne Spiel- oder App-Fokussierung eine Rolle. Tutoren werden beispielsweise zur Moderation von Lernprozessen eingesetzt und Lerngruppen gegründet um das problem-orientierte Lernen stärker in den Mittelpunkt zu rücken (siehe Beitrag von Mach und Dirwelis) bzw. näher am Bedarf der Studierenden zu arbeiten (wie in eingeladenen Vortrag von Tatiana N. Noskova sowie in dem Beitrag von Mach und Dirwelis beschrieben). In der Evaluation wird ebenfalls der Schritt weg von anonymen, akkumulierten statistischen Auswertungen hin zu individualisierten Nutzerprofilen im Bereich des Learning Analytics untersucht (vergleiche dazu den Beitrag von Ifenthaler). Neben der Schwerpunktsetzung auf die Lernenden und deren Mobilität rückt das Thema Transmedialität stärker ins Zentrum der Forschung. Während schon die Keynote mit ihrem Spielefokus darauf anspricht, geht es in weiteren Beiträgen darum Abläufe aus der analogen Welt bestmöglich in der digitalen Welt abzubilden. Lerninhalte, die bisher mittels Bildern und Texten für Lehrende und Lernende zugänglich gemacht wurden, werden nunmehr mit weiteren Medien, insbesondere Videos, angereichert um deren Verständnis zu erhöhen. Dies ist beispielsweise geeignet, um Bewegungsabläufe im Sport (vergleiche dazu den Beitrag von Owassapian und Hensinger) oder musikpraktische Übungen wie Bodyperkussion (beschrieben im Beitrag von Buschmann und Glasemann) zu erlernen Lernendenfokussierung, persönlicher Austausch, Mobilität und Transmedialität sind somit einige der Kernthemen, die Sie in diesem Sammelband erwarten. Auch zeigt die häufige Verknüpfung verschedener dieser Kernthemen, dass keines davon ein Randthema ist, sondern sich die Summe aus allen im E-Learning bündelt und damit eine neue Qualität für Lehre, Studium und Forschung erreicht werden kann.

N2  - Stand des IMAF zu Beginn des Jahres 2006 

Zum 1. April 2005 wurde per Beschluss des Rektorats der Universität Potsdam das Interdisziplinäre Zentrum für Musterdynamik und Angewandte Fernerkundung (IMAF) an der Universität Potsdam eingerichtet. Diesem Beschluss gingen knapp zwei Jahre konzeptionelle, organisatorische und administrative Vorarbeiten voraus. Inzwischen ist das IMAF also offiziell gegründet, der Vorstand wurde „bestellt“ (Prof. M. Mutti. Prof. E. Zehe, Prof. A. Bronstert), der Geschäftsführer bzw. wissenschaftliche Koordinator Dr. M. Kühling arbeitet in dieser Funktion seit Sommer 2005 und seit kurzem ist auch die 1. Version der Homepage des IMAF (http://www.uni-potsdam.de/imaf/) frei geschaltet. Auch die Infrastruktur des IMAF ist in der Entstehungsphase: Büroräume sind versprochen (wenn auch noch nicht bezugsfertig) im Haus 13 auf dem Campus Golm der Universität Potsdam und der 1. erfolgreiche Drittmittelantrag erbrachte 8 leistungsfähige Tischrechner und einen Server für das IMAF aus EU-Mitteln. Wichtiger als die administrativen und organisatorischen Arbeiten sind aber die inhaltlichen Forstschritte. Hier ist die große Resonanz, die die Gründung des IMAF sowohl innerhalb als auch außerhalb der Universität gefunden hat, besonders erfreulich. Über 30 Angehörige des Zentrums sind inzwischen zu verzeichnen und es gibt bereits eine Reihe von wissenschaftlichen Projektinitiativen und Ideen für dieses Zentrum. Neben den wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten am IMAF ist ein zweites Hauptziel für dieses Zentrum die Entwicklung und der Ausbau eines strukturierten Ausbildungsangebotes für Musterdynamik und angewandte Fernerkundung. Dies sollen gleichermaßen Masterstudenten als auch Doktoranden der Universität Potsdam und der mit ihr assoziierten außeruniversitären Institute nutzen. Zudem werden Kurse und Weiterbildungsveranstaltungen mit nationalen und internationalen Experten angestrebt. Neben diesen positiven Entwicklungen gibt es auch (noch ??) über einige Mängel zu berichten: 
Das Sekretariat ist nach wie vor unbesetzt, die Finanzausstattung des Zentrums ist völlig ungenügend und die im Konzept für das Zentrum beantragte Wissenschaftlerstelle für Softwareanwendung ist nicht in Sicht. Für einen Erfolg des Zentrums ist es unbedingt notwendig, dass sich diese Situation deutlich verbessert!! 

Forschungsschwerpunkte des IMAF 

Räumliche Muster und deren Struktur in der Umwelt

Räumliche Muster sind in vielen naturwissenschaftlichen Disziplinen (Hydrologie, Ökologie, Geologie, Biologie, Chemie, Physik) von zentraler Bedeutung. Z.B. bestimmen die räumlichen (und zeitlichen) Muster von Bodeneigenschaften und Vegetation in ihrem Zusammenspiel mit den Mustern von Niederschlag und Strahlungsinput maßgeblich den Wasser- und Stoffhaushalt auf unterschiedlichsten Skalen und führen über Rückkopplung wiederum zu Veränderungen in Klima, Vegetation und Ökosystemen. Vom kleinräumigen Transport von Schadstoffen und von der Hochwasserentstehung bis zur Frage nach den regionalen und globalen Veränderungen von Klima, Vegetation und Landnutzung seien hier nur einige Problemkreise genannt, in denen Muster und Musterdynamik eine zentrale Stellung einnehmen. Darüber hinaus liefert die Betrachtung der zeitlichen Veränderung von räumlichen Mustern, in Ergänzung zur klassischen Erfassung dynamischer Prozesse in Form von Messungen lokaler zeitlicher Änderungen, eine völlig neue Perspektive auf Dynamik und eröffnet damit völlig neue wissenschaftliche Möglichkeiten. Aktuelle und sehr drängende Fragen innerhalb dieses Forschungsschwerpunktes sind unter anderem: 
• Analyse der generelle Raumstruktur von Geodaten (Variabilität, Struktur, Konnektivität); 
• Thematische Verbindungen verschiedener Datenebenen und Möglichkeiten für deren Assimilation; 
• Möglichkeiten und Grenzen des Skalenübergangs zwischen verschiedenen räumlichen Auflösungen und Informationsquellen; 
• Ableitung der zeitlichen Dynamik bzw. Entwicklung von großen flächenhaften Datenfeldern. 

Angewandte Fernerkundung 

Wie keine andere Technik bietet die Fernerkundung in jeglicher Form (unter anderem Satelliten, flugzeuggetragene Sensoren, Wetterradar und auch geophysikalische Methoden) umfangreiche Möglichkeiten, räumliche Muster und deren zeitliche Veränderungen zu erfassen. Allen Methoden der Fernerkundung gemein ist, dass sie nur indirekte Ergebnisse liefern. Das heißt, es besteht nur ein mittelbarer Zusammenhang zwischen dem beobachteten Signal, meist der Reflektivität oder Emissivität elektromagnetischer Strahlung in verschiedenen Spektralbereichen (optisch oder Radar), und der eigentlich interessierenden Größe, wie dem Feuchtezustand der Vegetation, der Bodenfeuchte oder Bodenrauhigkeit, der Niederschlagsintensität, dem Zustand der Schneedecke oder der Ausdehnung eines Oberflächenfilms auf Gewässern. Ein Satellitenbild enthält beispielsweise immer die spektrale Signatur des räumlichen Musters mehrerer der oben genannten Einflussgrößen, was die Extraktion oder Diskriminierung der eigentlich interessierenden Größe erschwert. Dieser „vermischte“ Charakter der Fernerkundungsdaten bietet aber auch immense Chancen. So lassen sich durch geeignete Interpretationsverfahren aus jedem mit hohem finanziellem und technischem Aufwand erstellten Satellitenbild zahlreiche und im Detail völlig unterschiedliche Fragestellungen bearbeiten. Die Extraktion der gewünschten Information aus dem Fernerkundungssignal führt mathematisch gesehen meist auf die Lösung so genannter inverser, schlecht gestellter Probleme. Somit beinhaltet die interdisziplinäre Nutzung von Fernerkundung auch ein hohes methodisches Synergiepotential. Durch die heutigen technischen Möglichkeiten zur Archivierung auch sehr umfangreicher raumbezogener Informationen ist die Bearbeitung zu jedem beliebigen Zeitpunkt nach der Aufnahme möglich – zum Beispiel bis entsprechend lange Zeitreihen und/oder geeignete Interpretationsverfahren zur Verfügung stehen. Tatsächlich dürfte der weitaus größte Teil der raumbezogenen Informationen, die in den bisher erhobenen Fernerkundungsdaten stecken, nur in Ansätzen ausgewertet sein. Einer bereits sehr hoch entwickelten technischen Dimension der Fernerkundung steht ein gewisses Defizit im Umfang ihrer Anwendung in den verschiedenen naturwissenschaftlichen Disziplinen gegenüber. Aktuelle und sehr drängende Fragen innerhalb dieses Forschungsschwerpunktes sind unter anderem: 
• Nutzung der räumlichen und inhaltlichen Breite von Fernerkundungsinformationen; 
• Verbindung mit automatisierten, u.a. geophysikalischen Methoden des „ground-truthings“; 
• Identifizierung der Grenzen bzgl. Repräsentanz der Daten (spektral, raum-zeitliche Auflösung); 
• Verbindung unterschiedlicher Methoden der Fernerkundung und der Geophysik. 

Dieser Beitrag illustriert die o.g. Fragestellungen anhand einiger Darstellungen aus verschiedenen wissenschaftlichen Disziplinen und erläutert 2 Beispiele zu beabsichtigten Forschungsprojekten:
• Erfassung und Bedeutung von Boden-Oberflächeneigenschaften auf die Abflussbildung von Landschaften; 
• Phänomene des Stofftransportes in homogenen vs. heterogenen Böden.

N2  - Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems are critical to the success of enterprises, facilitating business operations through standardized digital processes. However, existing ERP systems are unsuitable for startups and small and medium-sized enterprises that grow quickly and require adaptable solutions with low barriers to entry. Drawing upon 15 explorative interviews with industry experts, we examine the challenges of current ERP systems using the task technology fit theory across companies of varying sizes. We describe high entry barriers, high costs of implementing implicit processes, and insufficient interoperability of already employed tools. We present a vision of a future business process platform based on three enablers: Business processes as first-class entities, semantic data and processes, and cloud-native elasticity and high availability. We discuss how these enablers address current ERP systems' challenges and how they may be used for research on the next generation of business software for tomorrow's enterprises.
