בחלקו השני של המאמר נידון המקרה הספציפי של מצוות ברית המילה - כדוגמא קלאסית למצווה המכונה בפי החכמים "חוק". 
המאמר דן בטעמים השונים שניתנו למצווה זו (כולל אלו שהועלו בתקופה המודרנית ברוח ההסברים האנתרופולוגיים והפסיכואנליטיים); ובסיומו של הדיון מועלה לדיון ויכוח - מקורי עד כמה שניתן לשער - שנשתמר בתלמוד, בין חכם ארצישראלי בן מאה השלישית, רבי עקיבא, ובין רומאי בשם טורנוסרופוס (או טוניוס רופוס) המייצג את תפיסת ה"טבע" הרומית. 
האחרון מתקיף את רבי עקיבא בנוגע לברית המילה בטענה שהיהודים מטילים בברית המילה מום בגוף התינוק. תשובת רבי עקיבא מנותחת מנקודת הראות המתמקדת במתח שבין "טבע"
N2  - This paper opens with a discussion on the Biblical term "Law" (“Khok”) - by presenting different points of view of several sages - presented in the ancient Midrash from the Land of Israel which is called "Vayikra Rabbah". 
The second part of the article concentrates on the specific case of the Mitzvah of “Berith Milah” (=circumcision) - a commandment which can serve un in our discussion as a classic example for “Khok” (="Law") – in order to study of the perception of the Rabbis on this type of Mitzvot.
The second part the article discusses the different types of reasoning which were given to this commandment (“Taamei Hamitzvot”). 
However, At the end this article the reader is exposed to a dispute cited in the Talmud (which seems to be originally dated to the Third century) - between a famous sage named Rabbi Akiva and a Roman sage. The Roman sage is presenting in front of the Rabbi the concept of “Nature” - attacking Rabbi Akiva by claiming that the Jews impose by circumcision a defect in the baby's body. 
Rabbi Akivas’ response is analyzed in this article shortly from the perspective the well-known structuralist axis between nature and culture.
