N2  - Medieval sculptures of so-called, Jew-Sows" inside and outside famous Church buildings, especially in the German-speaking countries, have a disastrous tradition and a poisoning impact until today. There are sharp controversies now on how to deal with these "unappetizing" sculptures, visible for example at the City church of Wittenberg, the town where protestant reformer Martin Luther had lived and worked. But the problem goes deeper. Obscene and perfidious representations of Jews, as they were usual in Christian-dominated Europe over centuries, have also penetrated the thought world and language use until today. Swearwords like "Jew-Sow" and "Jew-Pig" are used in order to attack and discredit Jews, non-Jews and disliked coevals. New strategies of combatting this "poisoning traditions" are needed. This article also refers to the roots of early Christian Jew-hatred and recommends an impartial critical discussion on relevant anti-Jewish passages in the Christian Bible.

N2  - In this paper, the names of the Spanish verb forms are examined with emphasis on the forms of the so-called past tense and the relationship of their conceptual potential to the function of these forms. The names of the verb forms in Spanish grammars from the 17th to the 20th century are determined by Latin grammar, but also by theoretical positions of their authors.
N2  - En esta contribución estudiaré las denominaciones de las formas verbales espanolas, focalizando la atención en las formas del así llamado pasado y la relación de su potencial conceptual a la función de las formas respectivas. Las denominaciones de las formas verbales en las gramáticas espanolas desde el siglo XVII hasta el siglo XX se determinan por la tradición gramatical latina, pero también por posiciones teoréticas de sus autores.

N2  - Im Januar 2008 wäre Simone de Beauvoir, die wohl bedeutendste und gleichermaßen umstrittenste französische Schriftstellerin und Philosophin des 20. Jahrhunderts, einhundert Jahre alt geworden. Ihre wissenschaftlichen wie literarischen Arbeiten waren getragen vom Geist der Freiheit und Gleichheit aller Individuen. Besonders Beauvoirs tiefgreifende Analyse der geschlechtlichen Rollenverteilung in der Gesellschaft und ihre radikale Forderung nach Gleichstellung der Geschlechter bewegten zutiefst die Gemüter. Das traf auch auf ihre gelebte Rebellion für weibliche Autonomie als Part der Selbstbestimmung der Menschen zu. Der Beitrag begibt sich anhand des von Simone de Beauvoir selbst gezeichneten Entwicklungsweges auf Spurensuche nach Besonderheiten, die sie zu diesen tiefgreifenden emanzipatorischen Vorstellungen ebenso wie zu ihrem weltweiten politischen Engagement veranlassten.
