While the source does not have a clear counterpart at longer wavelengths, the very hard spectrum emission at TeV energies implies that electrons or protons accelerated up to several hundreds of TeV are responsible for the emission. In a case study of Fe L3-edge RIXS in the ferricyanide complex Fe(CN)63-, we demonstrate with multi-configurational restricted active space spectrum simulations how the information content of RIXS spectral fingerprints can be used to unambiguously separate species of different electronic configurations, spin multiplicities, and structures, with possible involvement in the decay dynamics of photo-excited ligand-to-metal charge-transfer. Specifically, we propose that this could be applied to confirm or reject the presence of a hitherto elusive transient Quartet species. Thus, RIXS offers a particular possibility to settle a recent controversy regarding the decay pathway, and we expect the technique to be similarly applicable in other model systems of photo-induced dynamics.}, language = {en} } @misc{LewandowskyCowtanRisbeyetal.2019, author = {Lewandowsky, Stephan and Cowtan, Kevin and Risbey, James S. and Mann, Michael E. and Steinman, Byron A. and Oreskes, Naomi and Rahmstorf, Stefan}, title = {Erratum: The 'pause' in global warming in historical context: II. We provide a systematic comparison between temperatures and projections using historical versions of GMST products and historical versions of model projections that existed at the times when claims about a divergence were made. The comparisons are conducted with a variety of statistical techniques that correct for problems in previous work, including using continuous trends and a Monte Carlo approach to simulate internal variability. The results show that there is no robust statistical evidence for a divergence between models and observations. The impression of a divergence early in the 21st century was caused by various biases in model interpretation and in the observations, and was unsupported by robust statistics.}, language = {en} } @misc{DekaPohlVafinetal.2019, author = {Deka, Pranab Jyoti and Pohl, Martin and Vafin, Sergei and Bohdan, Artem}, title = {Erratum: Revisit of Nonlinear Landau Damping for Electrostatic Instability Driven by Blazar-induced Pair Beams (The astrophysical journal. - 873 (2019), pg 10)}, series = {The astrophysical journal : an international review of spectroscopy and astronomical physics}, volume = {883}, journal = {The astrophysical journal : an international review of spectroscopy and astronomical physics}, number = {2}, publisher = {IOP Publ.
