One solution could be a legislative procedure that selects one member from the eligible set of inconclusively justified proposals. Yet if liberal principles are too vague to select sufficiently specific legislative proposals, can they, nevertheless, select specific legislative procedures? Based on the work of Gerald Gaus, this article argues that the only candidate for a conclusively justified decision procedure is a majoritarian or otherwise 'neutral' democracy. If the justification of democracy requires an equality baseline in the design of political regimes and if justifications for departure from this baseline are subject to reasonable disagreement, a majoritarian design is justified by default. Gaus's own preference for super-majoritarian procedures is based on disputable specifications of justified liberal principles. These procedures can only be defended as a sectarian preference if the equality baseline is rejected, but then it is not clear how the set of justifiable political regimes can be restricted to full democracies.}, language = {en} } @article{Haag2017, author = {Haag, Johannes}, title = {A kantian critique of sellars transcendental realism}, series = {Wilfrid Sellars, Idealism, and Realism: Understanding Psychological Nominalism}, journal = {Wilfrid Sellars, Idealism, and Realism: Understanding Psychological Nominalism}, publisher = {Bloomsbury}, address = {London}, isbn = {978-1-4742-3895-3}, pages = {149 -- 171}, year = {2017}, language = {en} } @phdthesis{Knoppick2017, author = {Knoppick, Henrike}, title = {Die Entwicklung und Vorhersage des Wohlbefindens von Schulkindern im Rahmen des {\"U}bergangs von der Grundschule in die weiterf{\"u}hrende Schule}, school = {Universit{\"a}t Potsdam}, year = {2017}, language = {de} } @article{Selting2018, author = {Selting, Margret}, title = {For Charles Goodwin, Chuck}, series = {Co-operative engagements in intertwined semiosis: essays in honour of Charles Goodwin}, volume = {19}, journal = {Co-operative engagements in intertwined semiosis: essays in honour of Charles Goodwin}, publisher = {University of Tartu Press}, address = {Tartu}, isbn = {978-9949-77-688-7}, issn = {1406-4278}, pages = {361 -- 362}, year = {2018}, abstract = {This appreciation will not be a testimonial to Chuck's numerous publications and research achievements - I am sure that others will have a lot to say about those.
