While CP complements give rise to biclausal structures, VP complements and verbal clusters indicate a monoclausal structure. Non-finite verbs in verbal clusters build a syntactic unit with the governing verb. It is only the last infinitival pattern that we address as a so-called coherent infinitival pattern, a notion introduced in the influential work of Bech (1955/57). Verbal clusters are bound to languages with an OV grammar, hence the well-known differences regarding infinitival syntax in German and English (Haider 2003, Bobaljik 2004). On the widespread assumption that German has been an OV language throughout its history (Axel 2007), we expect all three types of infinitival complements to be present from the earliest attestions of German.}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{DemskeLogacevGoldschmidt2014, author = {Demske, Ulrike and Logacev, Pavel and Goldschmidt, Katrin}, title = {POS-Tagging Historical Corpora: The Case of Early New High German}, series = {Proceedings of the thirteenth workshop on treebanks and linguistic theories (TLT 13)}, volume = {2014}, booktitle = {Proceedings of the thirteenth workshop on treebanks and linguistic theories (TLT 13)}, publisher = {TALAR - T{\"u}bingen Archive of Language Resources}, address = {T{\"u}bingen}, pages = {103 -- 112}, year = {2014}, abstract = {A key problem in automatic annotation of historical corpora is inconsistent spelling. Because the spelling of some word forms can differ between texts, a language model trained on already annotated treebanks may fail to recognize known word forms due to differences in spelling. In the present work, we explore the feasibility of an unsupervised method for spelling-adjustment for the purpose of improved part of speech (POS) tagging. To this end, we present a method for spelling normalization based on weighted edit distances, which exploits within-text spelling variation. We then evaluate the improvement in taging accuracy resulting from between-texts spelling normalization in two tagging experiments on several Early New High German (ENHG) texts.}, language = {en} } @misc{Stockhorst2011, author = {Stockhorst, Stefanie}, title = {Friedrich Nicolai (1733-1811). - on the two hundreth Anniversary of the Berlin Enlightenment writer and bookseller has works published}, series = {Zeitschrift f{\"u}r Germanistik}, volume = {21}, journal = {Zeitschrift f{\"u}r Germanistik}, number = {1}, publisher = {Lang}, address = {Bern}, issn = {0323-7982}, pages = {153 -- 159}, year = {2011}, language = {de} } @misc{Stockhorst2018, author = {Stockhorst, Stefanie}, title = {so wollen wir singen und loben deine Macht}, series = {Daphnis : Zeitschrift f{\"u}r mittlere deutsche Literatur}, volume = {46}, journal = {Daphnis : Zeitschrift f{\"u}r mittlere deutsche Literatur}, number = {1-2}, publisher = {Brill Rodopi}, address = {Amsterdam}, issn = {0300-693X}, doi = {10.1163/18796583-04601007}, pages = {335 -- 338}, year = {2018}, language = {de} } @article{Stockhorst2021, author = {Stockhorst, Stefanie}, title = {J{\"u}dische Intellektuelle im Spiegel von Friedrich Nicolais Allgemeiner deutscher Bibliothek am Beispiel der Rezensionen {\"u}ber Moses Mendelssohn und Marcus Herz}, series = {J{\"u}dische und christliche Intellektuelle in Berlin um 1800: Freundschaften - Partnerschaften - Feindschaften}, journal = {J{\"u}dische und christliche Intellektuelle in Berlin um 1800: Freundschaften - Partnerschaften - Feindschaften}, editor = {Berghahn, Cord-Friedrich and Lifschitz, Avi and Wiedemann, Conrad}, publisher = {Wehrhahn}, address = {Hannover}, isbn = {978-3-86525-825-0}, pages = {135 -- 160}, year = {2021}, language = {de} } @article{BoschDeCesareDemskeetal.2021, author = {Bosch, Sina and De Cesare, Ilaria and Demske, Ulrike and Felser, Claudia}, title = {New empirical approaches to grammatical variation and change}, series = {Languages : open access journal}, volume = {6}, journal = {Languages : open access journal}, number = {3}, publisher = {MDPI}, address = {Basel}, issn = {2226-471X}, doi = {10.3390/languages6030113}, pages = {3}, year = {2021}, language = {en} } @incollection{Moser2024, author = {Moser, Natalie}, title = {Historisch von der nahen Zukunft erz{\"a}hlen}, series = {Zukunft - Zukunftswissen - Zukunfts{\"a}sthetik}, booktitle = {Zukunft - Zukunftswissen - Zukunfts{\"a}sthetik}, publisher = {Rombach Wissenschaft}, address = {Baden-Baden}, isbn = {978-3-96821-870-0}, doi = {10.5771/9783968218717-85}, pages = {85 -- 106}, year = {2024}, language = {de} } @book{vonEms2022, author = {von Ems, Rudolf}, title = {Der guote G{\^e}rhart / Der gute Gerhart}, series = {Reclams Universal-Bibliothek}, volume = {19589}, journal = {Reclams Universal-Bibliothek}, editor = {Philipowski, Katharina}, publisher = {Reclam}, address = {Ditzingen}, isbn = {978-3-15-019589-5}, pages = {542}, year = {2022}, abstract = {Der mutmaßlich erste Roman Rudolfs von Ems ist in mehrfacher Hinsicht eine literarische Ausnahmeerscheinung: Sein Protagonist Gerhart ist kein Ritter, sondern ein K{\"o}lner Kaufmann. Most of them are not continuously and coherently narrative, but in most cases include long discursive sections or textual elements such as letters, prayers, songs, or dialogues. The classification of these texts as narrative literature is thus anything but self-evident. The contributions to this volume examine how first-person discursivity and narrativity interact in French, German, and Italian narratives, what interrelation exists between the first-person narrative stance and discursivity, and how the literary forms of narrativity and discursivity (each of which is assigned a specific tense, namely the past tense and the present tense) relate to each other.}, language = {mul} } @misc{Philipowski2022, author = {Philipowski, Katharina}, title = {Einf{\"u}hrende Bemerkungen zu Diskursivit{\"a}t und Narrativit{\"a}t}, series = {Medieval Forms of First-Person Narration: Narrativity and Discoursivity (Villa Vigoni Talks II)}, volume = {14}, journal = {Medieval Forms of First-Person Narration: Narrativity and Discoursivity (Villa Vigoni Talks II)}, number = {Special Issue}, editor = {Philipowski, Katharina}, publisher = {University of Oldenburg Press}, address = {Oldenburg}, issn = {2568-9967}, doi = {10.25619/BmE20225222}, pages = {1 -- 12}, year = {2022}, language = {de} }
