The pandemic is fortunately over. It has once again shown how important digital education is. How well-prepared a country was could be seen in our schools, universities, and companies. In different countries, the problems manifested themselves differently. The measures and approaches to solving the problems varied accordingly. Digital education, whether micro-credentials, MOOCs, blended learning formats, or other e-learning tools, received a major boost. EMOOCs 2023 focusses on the effects of this emergency situation. How has it affected the development and delivery of MOOCs and other e-learning offerings all over Europe? Which projects can serve as models for successful digital learning and teaching? Which roles can MOOCs and micro-credentials bear in the current business transformation? Is there a backlash to the routine we knew from pre-Corona times? Or have many things become firmly established in the meantime, e.g. remote work, hybrid conferences, etc.? Furthermore, EMOOCs 2023 has a closer look at the development and formalization of digital learning. Micro-credentials are just the starting point. Further steps in this direction would be complete online study programs or full online universities. Another main topic is the networking of learning offers and the standardization of formats and metadata. Examples of fruitful cooperations are the MOOChub, the European MOOC Consortium, and the Common Micro-Credential Framework. The learnings, derived from practical experience and research, are explored in EMOOCs 2023 in four tracks and additional workshops, covering various aspects of this field. All diese Orte sind so einzigartig wie die Wissenschaftler, die in ihnen arbeiten, oder die Untersuchungen, die hier stattfinden. Erst die Vision davon, wie ein Problem zu l{\"o}sen ist, macht aus einfachen Zimmern „Laborr{\"a}ume". Wir haben ihre T{\"u}ren ge{\"o}ffnet, um zu zeigen, was - und wer - sich dahinter befindet. Forschung er{\"o}ffnet R{\"a}ume: Wenn Wissenschaft erfolgreich ist, bewegt sie uns, bringt uns voran. Auf dem Weg einer wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnis aus dem Labor in den Alltag stehen mitunter H{\"u}rden, die meist nicht auf den ersten Blick zu erkennen sind. Auf jeden Fall aber ist ihre Anwendung erster Ausgangspunkt von Wissenschaft, Antrieb und Motivation jedes Forschers. „Portal Wissen" zeigt, welche „Praxisr{\"a}ume" sich aus der {\"U}bersetzung von Forschungsresultaten ergeben. Dort, wo wir es unbedingt erwarten, und dort, wo vielleicht nicht. Forschung erschließt R{\"a}ume: Bei Expeditionen, Feldversuchen und Exkursionen wird nahezu jede Umgebung zum mobilen Labor. So er{\"o}ffnet Wissenschaft Zug{\"a}nge auch zu Orten, die auf vielfach andere Weise verschlossen oder unzug{\"a}nglich scheinen. Wir haben uns in Forscher- Reisetaschen gemogelt, um bei Entdeckungsreisen dabei zu sein, die weit weg - vor allem nach Afrika - f{\"u}hren. Zugleich haben wir beobachtet, wie „Entwicklungsr{\"a}ume" sich auch von Potsdam aus erschließen lassen oder zumindest ihre Vermessung in Potsdam beginnen kann. Forschung braucht R{\"a}ume: Wissenschaft hat zwei Geschlechter, endlich. Noch nie waren so viele Frauen in der Forschung t{\"a}tig wie derzeit. Ein Grund zum Ausruhen ist dies gleichwohl nicht. Deutschlandweit ist aktuell nur jede f{\"u}nfte Professur von einer Frau besetzt. „Portal Wissen" schaut, welche „Entwicklungsr{\"a}ume" Frauen sich in der Wissenschaft, aber auch dar{\"u}ber hinaus geschaffen haben. Zimzum originated in the teachings of the sixteenth-century Jewish mystic Isaac Luria and here, Christoph Schulte follows its traces across the Jewish and Christian intellectual history of Europe and North America over four centuries. The Hebrew word zimzum originally means "contraction," "withdrawal," "retreat," "limitation," and "concentration." In Kabbalah, zimzum is a term for God's self-limitation, done before creating the world to create the world. Jewish mystic Isaac Luria coined this term in Galilee in the sixteenth century, positing that the God who was "Ein-Sof," unlimited and omnipresent before creation, must concentrate himself in the zimzum and withdraw in order to make room for the creation of the world in God's own center. At the same time, God also limits his infinite omnipotence to allow the finite world to arise. Without the zimzum there is no creation, making zimzum one of the basic concepts of Judaism. The Lurianic doctrine of the zimzum has been considered an intellectual showpiece of the Kabbalah and of Jewish philosophy. The teaching of the zimzum has appeared in the Kabbalistic literature across Central and Eastern Europe, perhaps most famously in Hasidic literature up to the present day and in philosopher and historian Gershom Scholem's epoch-making research on Jewish mysticism. The Zimzum has fascinated Jewish and Christian theologians, philosophers, and writers like no other Kabbalistic teaching.
