  abstract  = {The relaxation processes in the high impact polystyrene (HIPS) films filled with 2, 4, 6 vol.\% of titanium dioxide (TiO2) of the rutile modification have been studied using the thermally stimulated depolarization current (TSDC) technique. Three relaxation processes were observed in the composite HIPS films. The first one (a-relaxation peak) appeared at about 93 degrees C and represented the glass transition. The second peak p was a high-temperature part of the first one and overlapped it. The p peak was caused by the release and subsequent motion of excess charges deposited during the electret preparation or the polarization process. The third peak appeared at about 150 degrees C and occurred only in the spectra of the composite films. The overlapping peaks were separated by the thermal cleaning technique. The subsequent application of the numerical methods (the Tikhonov regularization technique) allowed to determine the activation energy of the second process and to compare the obtained value with the corresponding data on the dielectric relaxation.},

  abstract  = {Los estudios del viaje se centran en las experiencias, publicaciones y aportes cient{\´i}ficos de Humboldt. El art{\´i}culo estudia la situaci{\´o}n pol{\´i}tica espa{\~n}ola en 1799, la posici{\´o}n y el influjo del poderoso ministro Urquijo, cuya ca{\´i}da y sus eventuales consecuencias en territorios americanos, son mencionados en forma pasajera y preocupada por Humboldt. Se transcribe el inusual registro de Humboldt como pasajero de la corbeta Castor, con detalles, algunos tergiversados, sobre el influjo de Georg Forster en su formaci{\´o}n, su continuado empleo prusiano, su avance hacia territorio portugu{\´e}s y las dudas por la velocidad del viaje. Estos datos, junto con algunas cr{\´i}ticas en Quito, contempor{\´a}neas y posteriores, as{\´i} como problemas de al menos dos de sus interlocutores con la Inquisici{\´o}n lime{\~n}a, ofrecen una "mirada americana", ciertamente parcial, a Humboldt y explican, posiblemente, los pocos datos y la percepci{\´o}n negativa de su estad{\´i}a en Lima.},

  abstract  = {W{\"a}hrend das Fehlen einer religi{\"o}sen Haltung in Humboldts Werk, sowie die Kritik, die er diesbez{\"u}glich erhalten hat, allgemein bekannt sind, ist sein m{\"o}glicher Bezug zur Freimaurerei noch weitgehend unerforscht. Zwar erscheint Humboldt auf einigen Listen von „illustren Freimaurern", zudem tragen mehrere Logen seinen Namen, aber die Frage bleibt offen, ob Humboldt wirklich ein Freimaurer war. Wenn ja, wann und wo ist er einer Loge beigetreten? Gibt es vielleicht Kommentare von ihm zu dieser Art von Geheimb{\"u}nden? Und wer waren die bekanntesten Freimaurer in seiner Umgebung? Der Artikel beantwortet diese Punkte, aber wichtiger noch geht er der Frage nach, was eine Mitgliedschaft f{\"u}r Humboldts wissenschaftliche Arbeit bedeutet haben k{\"o}nnte, insbesondere im Hinblick auf den herausragenden Erfolg, den er in den Vereinigten Staaten zu Beginn des 19.   abstract  = {Der historische Spielfilm z{\"a}hlt zu den popul{\"a}rsten Formen geschichtskultureller Artikulation. Als solche ist er Gegenstand kontroverser Diskussionen {\"u}ber einen angemessenen didaktischen Umgang. Vor diesem Hintergrund ist es das Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit, ein integratives, theoretisch und empirisch abgesichertes Analysemodell zu entwickeln, das nach den Tiefenstrukturen historischen Erz{\"a}hlens im Medium des Spielfilms fragt und dabei unterschiedliche Erscheinungsformen historischer Spielfilme ber{\"u}cksichtigt. Die {\"U}berlegungen bewegen sich deshalb in einem interdisziplin{\"a}ren Spannungsfeld von Theorien zum historischen Erz{\"a}hlen und Konzepten der Literatur- und Filmwissenschaft. Die Diskussion und Synthese dieser unterschiedlichen Konzepte geht dabei - auf der Grundlage einer großen Materialbasis - vom Gegenstand aus und ist induktiv angelegt. Als Orientierung f{\"u}r die praktische Arbeit werden am Ende der einzelnen Kapitel Toolkits entwickelt, die zu einer vertieften Auseinandersetzung mit historischen Spielfilmen anregen sollen.},

In a controlled laboratory experiment we ask participants to give a detailed answer to an open question. The treatment variable is whether or not they see the phrase "thanks in advance." Our participants react to the treatment by exerting less effort in answering the request even though they perceive the phrase as polite.},

  abstract  = {The devil has been a favourite subject of Russian literature. His representations and functions have been changing over the centuries in accordance with the changing periods and fashions of literature. Images of the devil mix popular and animistic elements with biblical concepts of devils and demons. Both sources are relevant to literary texts which frequently ridicule na{\"i}ve beliefs in the devil but which also enjoy shocking enlightened intellectuals with appearances of the devil. The devil is such a frequent motif in Russian literature that telling its story means telling the story of Russian literature itself sub specie diaboli. The mixture of popular images with the biblical heritage goes back to the romantics - especially Nikolai Gogol - even though, of course, the devil had been popular much earlier. While ideas of the devil have remained popular with the people, the educated classes have tended to be skeptical. This may be the reason why realistic literature - with the notable exception of Fedor Dostoevskij - avoided the devil; the modernists liked to represent him even better. A peak was reached with Mikhail Bulgakov. Contemporaries often lack the religious subtext.},
