  abstract  = {As the world cannot be adequately understood from the vantage point of a single language, the literatures of the world can no longer be trimmed to a single world literature in the Goethean sense. This recognition bodes well for the future of philology and of literary production. Through multiperspectival writing, knowledge of life may be attainable without being reduced to a single political, medial, cartographical, geocultural, or aesthetic logic. As a laboratory for polylogical thinking, literature does not represent reality, as Erich Auerbach put it. Rather, it represents multiple lived, experienced, or relivable realities. Whoever is open to a polylogical reception of the literatures of the world can perceive and experience how life knowledge transforms into lived knowledge and how knowledge for survival turns into knowledge for living together. However, literature can be more than it is only if it stays aware of the void, of lack, of privation, of the interminable: aware of the end that never is an end. Such a planetary concept of the literatures of the world offers valuable opportunities to all those who do not fall into the trap of contenting themselves with a supposed abundance of text.},

  abstract  = {Garcilaso de la Vega el Inca, for several centuries doubtlessly the most discussed and most eminent writer of Andean America in the 16th and 17th centuries, throughout his life set the utmost value on the fact that he descended matrilineally from Atahualpa Yupanqui and from the last Inca emperor, Huayna C{\´a}pac. Thus, both in his person and in his creative work he combined different cultural worlds in a polylogical way.1 Two painters boasted that very same Inca descent - they were the last two great masters of the Cuzco school of painting, which over several generations of artists had been an institution of excellent renown and prestige, and whose economic downfall and artistic marginalization was vividly described by the French traveller Paul Mancoy in 1837.2 While, during the 18th century, Cuzco school paintings were still much cherished and sought after, by the beginning of the following century the elite of Lima regarded them as behind the times and provincial, committed to an 'indigenous' painting style. The artists from up-country - such was the reproach - could not keep up with the modern forms of seeing and creating, as exemplified by European paragons. Yet, just how 'provincial', truly, was this art?},

Mit seiner Konstanzer Antrittsvorlesung »Literaturgeschichte als Provokation der Literaturwissenschaft«, die bereits 1967 in Buchform erschien, begr{\"u}ndete er die Rezeptions{\"a}sthetik, welche Ausweitungen in die Sozial-, Kultur- und Fachgeschichte erhielt, und die sp{\"a}ter als »Konstanzer Schule« bezeichnet wurde. Seit der Literaturwissenschaftler Earl Jeffrey Richards 1995 zum ersten Mal {\"o}ffentlichkeitswirksam auf die SS-Mitgliedschaft von Hans Robert Jauss hinwies, entbrannte {\"u}ber die Frage der Konsequenzen dieses Faktums eine Debatte, die nicht abebben sollte. Der franz{\"o}sische Philologe Maurice Olender, der im September 1996 das einzige große Interview {\"u}ber die Vergangenheit mit Hans Robert Jauss f{\"u}r Le Monde gef{\"u}hrt hat, machte in Jauss {\"A}ußerung ein signifikantes »Schweigen einer Generation« aus. Vergleiche mit anderen diskutierten F{\"a}llen wie jene von G{\"u}nter Grass oder Martin Heidegger dr{\"a}ngen sich auf. Vor diesem Hintergrund dient die Publikation von Ottmar Ette der Diskussion von Fragen wie: Wie ist Jauss Verhalten zu verstehen?   abstract  = {El presente trabajo gira en torno al inexpugnable v{\´i}nculo entre naturaleza y cultura y la 'no naturalidad' de la primera, producto de las milenarias intervenciones del hombre, subsumido bajo el t{\´e}rmino del 'antropoceno'. Los fil{\´o}sofos franceses Bruno Latour y Philippe Descola supieron destacar, aunque por caminos diferentes, la importancia de este nexo para asegurar la supervivencia del hombre; Bruno Latour centra sus reflexiones en la pol{\´i}tica de la naturaleza y Philippe Descola destaca el car{\´a}cter ecol{\´o}gico de la naturaleza y la cultura. Sin embargo, ambos dejan de lado las literaturas del mundo y su capacidad de atesorar los diversos dise{\~n}os del saber convivir entre hombre y naturaleza y las nociones de sustentabilidad. Descuella adem{\´a}s la inspiraci{\´o}n que Descola encuentra en la figura del gran erudito Alexander von Humboldt, quien en el siglo XIX ya daba fe de la relaci{\´o}n inextricable entre naturaleza y cultura en innumerables testimonios, entre otros, el Chimborazo que, como cuadro global es representativo para entender que la naturaleza desde siempre ha sido cultura y la cultura es inimaginble sin la naturaleza.},

Schließlich avanciert die fiktionale Erz{\"a}hlliteratur selbst zur Kritikerin lebenswissenschaftlicher Ideologien und Theorien. Anhand ausgew{\"a}hlter literarischer Werke des 20. und 21. Jahrhunderts werden die Wechselbeziehungen zwischen fiktionaler Erz{\"a}hlliteratur und nicht-fiktionaler Sachbuchliteratur untersucht. Die Autorin geht der Frage nach, auf welche Art und Weise Alltagsund Wissenschaftssprache in der Literatur miteinander interagieren und eine immanente Ideologiekritik spekulativer Theoriebildung des Popular Science Writing initiieren. Dieses Buch richtet sich an Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaftler, die das wissenschaftspolitische Programm der »Literaturwissenschaft als Lebenswissenschaft« (O. Ette) in anwendungsorientierten Forschungskontexten erprobt wissen wollen. Mit seinen polemischkritischen Thesen und einem selbstreflexiv-ironischen Schreibstil facht es das Gespr{\"a}ch {\"u}ber Popul{\"a}rwissenschaften weiter an: Es ist das Popul{\"a}re, das sich quer {\"u}ber die sozialen Felder legt und der »illusio« (P. In die Betrachtung dieser drei Kategorien werden neben dem Tempus, Aspekt und Modus weitere Ausdrucksmittel, wie zum Beispiel Verbalperiphrasen, Adverbien und lexikalische Bedeutungen von Verben, einbezogen. Die Beschreibung erfolgt auf der Grundlage einer funktionalen Sicht der Grammatik und das Zusammenwirken verschiedener Strukturebenen der Sprache bei der Markierung temporaler, aspektueller und modaler Verh{\"a}ltnisse wird betrachtet. Neuere Forschungsans{\"a}tze im Bereich der Typologie und der kognitiven Linguistik werden ber{\"u}cksichtigt. Insbesondere wird die Interaktion zwischen den drei Kategorien, die in den romanischen Sprachen nicht streng getrennt sind, dargestellt. Im Zentrum stehen das Franz{\"o}sische, das Italienische, das Portugiesische und das Spanische, wobei auff{\"a}llige Erscheinungen in anderen romanischen Sprachen gleichfalls erw{\"a}hnt werden. His main argument against Condillac and the ideologists is that empirical knowledge does not depend on signs.   abstract  = {En esta contribuci{\´o}n se explicar{\´a} la influencia que tuvo el Curso de ling{\"u}{\´i}stica general de Ferdinand de Saussure en la ling{\"u}{\´i}stica estructural, as{\´i} como el desarrollo de algunos conceptos prominentes en esta obra antes y despu{\´e}s de Saussure. El estructuralismo es un fen{\´o}meno que se ha caracterizado por ser una corriente importante de la ling{\"u}{\´i}stica europea y americana del siglo XX. Se demostrar{\´a} que la ling{\"u}{\´i}stica estructural no hace m{\´a}s que acentuar una actitud que ya se encontraba presente anteriormente en la ling{\"u}{\´i}stica y que todav{\´i}a sigue estando presente. Esto tambi{\´e}n se puede ver en Espa{\~n}a donde la ling{\"u}{\´i}stica estructural no se puede explicar solamente como una importaci{\´o}n tard{\´i}a. Tambi{\´e}n se observar{\´a}, por el otro lado, que el pensamiento de Ferdinand de Saussure, considerado el fundador del estructuralismo, es menos opuesto a todo lo que se considera ajeno al estructuralismo. En esta contribuci{\´o}n me propongo hacer una revisi{\´o}n de los conceptos que se consideran iniciadores del estructuralismo. La publicaci{\´o}n de los manuscritos de la ling{\"u}{\´i}stica general de Saussure (2002) permite adquirir una visi{\´o}n m{\´a}s amplia y m{\´a}s detallada de los conceptos de las teor{\´i}as ling{\"u}{\´i}sticas en cuesti{\´o}n.},

  abstract  = {The present study approaches the Spanish postposed constructions creo {\O} and creo yo '[p], [I] think' from a cognitive-constructionist perspective. It is argued that both constructions are to be distinguished from one another because creo {\O} has a subjective function, while in creo yo, it is the intersubjective dimension that is particularly prominent. The present investigation takes both a qualitative and a quantitative perspective. With regard to the latter, the problem of quantitative representativity is addressed. The discussion posed the question of how empirical research can feed back into theory, more precisely, into the framework of Cognitive Construction Grammar. The data to be analyzed here are retrieved from the corpora Corpus de Referencia del Espa{\~n}ol Actual and Corpus del Espa{\~n}ol.},

  abstract  = {Two Chilean poets with equal and yet different conceptions of poetry: While Nicanor Parra is considered one of the most important Latin American lyricists of the 20th century, the poetry of novelist Roberto Bola{\~n}o only finds little attention in comparison to his highly successful prose. Yet both authors give constructive answers to the possible functions of contemporary poetry under an epistemology based upon materialism that affects language as emancipatory capacity of each human individual. A comparative reading of two volumes of their poetry, Parra's well known Poemas y antipoemas (1954) and Bola{\~n}o's last 'collection of poems' Tres (2000), does not only demonstrate some structural links. The urgent question concerning the benefits of literature among globalized societies, involving highly complex cultural and linguistic identities, could benefit from a revived awareness towards poetry as historically relative formalization of language, but also as an efficient instrument to reflect the restrictions of language in times of its economic and cultural-industrial standardization.},

Auf der Basis des Genres des Isolario liest der Interpret die Fiktionen des Renaissance-Autors als Archipel. Der dem Isolario implizite Gedanke der Universalit{\"a}t der Insel wird in den Studien in einem st{\"a}ndigen Wechsel des point de vue auch f{\"u}r Rabelais' Fiktionen durchdekliniert. Dementsprechend zeigt Frank Lestringant in den Texten die {\"U}berg{\"a}nge vom Kosmographischen {\"u}ber das Geographische zur topographischen Perspektive auf.   abstract  = {The multifaceted concept of 'form' plays a central tole in the linguistic work of Wilhelm von Humboldt (1767-1835), where it is deeply entwined with aesthetic questions. H. Steinthal's (1823-1899) interpretation of linguistic form, however, made it the servant of psychology. The Formungstrieb (drive to formation) of Georg von der Gabelentz (1840-1893) challenged Steinthal's conception and placed a renewed emphasis on aesthetics. In this endeavour, Gabelentz drew on the work of such figures as August Friedrich Pott (1802-1887), Hans Conon von der Gabelentz (1807-1874) and William Dwight Whitney (1827-1894). In this paper, we examine Gabelentz' Formungstrieb and place it in its historical context.},

  abstract  = {La siguiente investigaci{\´o}n aborda la relaci{\´o}n entre mito y modernidad en la obra literaria (poemas, cuentos, novelas y cr{\´o}nicas) del autor chileno Rosamel del Valle (Curacav{\´i}, 1901 - Santiago de Chile, 1965). En sus distintos textos existe una tensi{\´o}n entre un proyecto po{\´e}tico basado en una visi{\´o}n m{\´i}tica del mundo y un contexto hist{\´o}rico que privilegia posturas m{\´a}s racionalistas, relegando lo po{\´e}tico y lo m{\´i}tico. Ya en el siglo XIX la modernidad y los fen{\´o}menos asociados de la modernizaci{\´o}n producen el desplazamiento de la poes{\´i}a como discurso y del poeta como persona a una situaci{\´o}n deficitaria dentro de la sociedad, lo que se extiende en el siglo XX. Debido a este conflicto Rosamel del Valle cuestiona en su obra los alcances de sus propios postulados, tanto est{\´e}ticos como vitales. Esto conlleva una vacilaci{\´o}n entre la reafirmaci{\´o}n de su proyecto po{\´e}tico-vital y la consciencia del fracaso. Es por esto que la obra del poeta chileno contiene un Lebenswissen, que concibe a la poes{\´i}a como una forma privilegiada de vida. Sin embargo, debido a las dificultades de las condiciones hist{\´o}ricas es posible entender este Lebenswissen tambi{\´e}n como un {\"U}berLebenswissen (Ette). En la primera parte del texto se estudia la concepci{\´o}n m{\´i}tica de la poes{\´i}a de del Valle y se analiza los distintos niveles en los que aparece el mito en su obra literaria: como pensamiento, como lenguaje y como narraci{\´o}n tradicional. La identificaci{\´o}n de la poes{\´i}a como mito muestra las principales caracter{\´i}sticas de la po{\´e}tica de del Valle: una concepci{\´o}n ontol{\´o}gica que diferencia entre una dimensi{\´o}n visible y otra invisible de la realidad; la tendencia m{\´i}stica de la poes{\´i}a; una concepci{\´o}n c{\´i}clica del tiempo que funda una relaci{\´o}n con los discursos de la memoria y de la muerte, as{\´i} como la idea de un pasado ut{\´o}pico que por medio de la poes{\´i}a podr{\´i}a revivir en el presente; adem{\´a}s de la figura de la mujer c{\´o}mo s{\´i}mbolo del amor y de la poes{\´i}a. En la segunda parte se investiga la relaci{\´o}n y las consecuencias de esta "poes{\´i}a m{\´i}tica" en el contexto de la modernidad. Se aborda especialmente el efecto en la po{\´e}tica de Rosamel del Valle de la Entzauberung der Welt (Weber), como experiencia espec{\´i}fica de la {\´e}poca. Para esto se destaca ante todo sus impresiones sobre Nueva York. Esta ciudad en la que vivi{\´o} y trabaj{\´o} entre 1946 y 1963, se transforma en sus textos en un lugar en el que ser{\´i}a posible el "habitar po{\´e}tico del hombre" en la modernidad.},

  abstract  = {The purpose of this work is to apply the methods of textual semiotics to subcultures, in particular to the little known glam subculture. Subcultures have been the main research field of the Birmingham Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies, known for its interdisciplinary approach, and for its focus on the creative aspects of subculture. Hebdige, in particular, introduced many semiotic elements in his work, as the aberrant decoding after Eco and the cultural creativity via bricolage after L{\´e}vi-Strauss. His definition of subculture as symbolic resistance has been criticized by the following post-subcultural researchers for its abstractness and lack of cohesion. Semiotics eventually have been expelled from the set of tools used in sociology for the analysis of subcultures. Nowadays, the studies on subcultures have a strong ethnographic focus. Due to terminological proliferation and a descriptive approach, it is difficult to compare them on a common basis. Textual semiotics, through the concept of semiosphere developed by Lotman, allows to go back to the intuitions of Hebdige, organizing the semiotic elements already present in his work into a wider system of interpretation. The semiosphere offers a coherent theoretical horizon as a basis for further analysis, and a new methodological perspective focusing on the cultural. In this thesis for the first time the work of Lotman is applied to the study of a subculture.},

  abstract  = {Der deutsche Zeitungsmarkt ist von einem breiten Angebot {\"u}berregionaler Tageszeitungen gekennzeichnet, denen innerhalb der Bev{\"o}lkerung unterschiedliche politische Ausrichtungen zugeschrieben werden. Als konservatives Blatt gilt die „Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" (F.A.Z.), wohingegen sich die „taz.die tageszeitung" (taz) durch eine linksalternative Orientierung auszeichnet. Ausgehend von diesem Unterschied untersucht die Arbeit die sprachliche Gestaltung der {\"U}berschriften, Unter- und Zwischenzeilen der F.A.Z. und der taz zu den Themen „Alternative f{\"u}r Deutschland" (AfD), „Nationalsozialistischer Untergrund" (NSU) und „Front National" (FN). Die qualitativ-quantitative Korpusuntersuchung fokussiert neben lexikalischen und syntaktischen auch sprachstilistische Faktoren, die eine Stellungnahme zu der Forschungsthese, dass mit der sprachlichen Formulierung der Haupt-, Unter- und Zwischenzeilen die politische Ausrichtung und ideologische Grundhaltung der Zeitungen deutlich wird, erlauben. Die Grundlage f{\"u}r die Analysen bildet ein konstruktivistischer Ansatz, der auf systemtheoretischen Annahmen beruht. Dadurch kann zum einen gezeigt werden, wie sich die Ergebnisse der sprachlichen Analysen mit den unterschiedlichen zugrunde liegenden Wirklichkeitskonstruktionen der Zeitungen verbinden lassen, zum anderen wird deutlich, dass sich die Formulierung der {\"U}berschriften auch auf die individuelle Realit{\"a}tskonstruktion der Rezipienten auswirkt. Die vergleichenden Auswertungen geben unterschiedlich gewichtete Hinweise auf die Einstellung der Kommunikatoren und best{\"a}tigen, dass die jeweiligen Perspektivierungen der Wirklichkeit sowie ideologischen Grundhaltungen der F.A.Z. und der taz bereits in der sprachlichen Gestaltung ihrer Titelkomplexe deutlich werden.},

  abstract  = {"Microfilm" (1971) von Andrea Zanzotto ist ein hoch komplexes, intermediales Gebilde, das seit seiner erstmaligen Ver{\"o}ffentlichung der Zanzotto-Forschung große interpretative Schwierigkeiten bereitet hat. Die vorliegende Arbeit ist die erste umfassende Monographie zu "Microfilm". Nach Zanzottos eigener Aussage entstand "Microfilm" als k{\"u}nstlerische Reaktion auf die Katastrophe von Vajont vom 9. Oktober 1963, als ein Bergrutsch eine gewaltige Flutwelle ausl{\"o}ste, die {\"u}ber den Vajont-Staudamm hinweg ins Tal von Longarone st{\"u}rzte. Der Hintergrund des Werkes gibt dem Autor den Anlass zu einem simulierten Hinterfragen des tragischen Ereignisses und zugleich seines eigenen Schaffens. Dies vollzieht sich in der Form einer trugbildhaften bildschriftlichen Komposition. Die Sinnlosigkeit der Katastrophe wiederholt sich in der diskontinuierlichen, hermetischen Form von Zanzottos Text.},

  abstract  = {Alexander von Humboldt geh{\"o}rt um 1810 zu den bekanntesten Wissenschaftlern der Welt. Sein Ruhm beruht in hohem Maß auf seiner Amerikanischen Reise (1799-1804). Seit dem Ankauf der Amerikanischen Reisetageb{\"u}cher durch die Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz im Jahr 2013 hat die Humboldt-Forschung auf verschiedenen Ebenen neue Impulse erhalten. Inhaltlich bieten die Tageb{\"u}cher reiches Material u. a. f{\"u}r die Wissenschaftsgeschichte, f{\"u}r die Literaturwissenschaft sowie f{\"u}r Kunst- und Kulturwissenschaften. Die Arbeit mit Manuskripten wirft gleichzeitig Fragen der Erfassung, der Materialit{\"a}t und der Edition auf. Schließlich wird durch die j{\"u}ngst begonnenen Forschungs-, Sicherungs- und Editionsprojekte die Besch{\"a}ftigung mit Humboldt auch institutionell intensiviert. Die Beitr{\"a}ge des vorliegenden Bandes spiegeln den engen Zusammenhang all dieser Perspektiven wider und n{\"a}hern sich Humboldt in seinem Schreiben zwischen Natur- und Kulturwissenschaft als einem hochaktuellen Denker. In 1810 Alexander von Humboldt is among the best known scientists in the word. His fame rested to a large extent on his American journey (1799-1804). Since the Prussian Cultural Foundation acquired the American travel diaries in 2013, Humboldt research has received new impulses on many levels. The content of the diaries offers rich source material for the disciplines including history of science, literary history, art, and cultural studies. Work with the manuscripts also throws up questions of recording, materiality and editing. Finally, the recently-started research, conservation and editing projects have also intensified the institutional engagement with Humboldt. The essays in this volume reflect the close connections between all these perspectives and approach Humboldt through his writings between natural and cultural history as a very contemporary thinker.},
