  abstract  = {Dieser Beitrag pr{\"a}sentiert die epistemischen Ver{\"a}nderungen, die von der Entdeckungsreise zur Forschungsreise f{\"u}hrten, im Lichte jener Auseinandersetzungen, die als „Berliner Debatte um die Neue Welt" ber{\"u}hmt wurden. Alexander von Humboldt bemerkte und beschrieb um die Wende zum 19. Jahrhundert eine fundamentale Epochenschwelle, die er im Vorwort zu seinen Vues des Cordill{\`e}res et Monumens des Peuples Indig{\`e}nes de l'Am{\´e}rique als eine „gl{\"u}ckliche Revolution" bezeichnete. Diese Revolution schloss f{\"u}r Humboldt auch die Tatsache mit ein, die Aufkl{\"a}rung nicht als eine rein europ{\"a}ische, sondern als eine transatlantische und weltumspannende philosophische Bewegung zu verstehen.},

  abstract  = {Humboldtian science aims at an empirically supported transdisciplinary and at the same time transareal development of a world consciousness. In the development of this world consciousness, not only Europe and the Americas, but also Central Asia and especially China play an important role. The Humboldt Center for Transdisciplinary Studies (HCTS) in Changsha, is attempting to address the fact that China has been largely left out of international Humboldt studies and that Alexander von Humboldt was intensively engaged with Central Asia and China for decades. Therefore, the Humboldt Center in Changsha sets itself the goal of expanding Humboldt Studies to include this important aspect, to stimulate and coordinate special research work, and to build scientific and cultural bridges between Germany and China, Europe and Asia.},

But these concepts need a space in which they can unfold critically and confidently with a view to the future.   abstract  = {Welterleben and Weiterleben are what determine the second globalization (of four previously explored) whose constantly accelerating dynamic, vectorization, this essay explores. On the basis of selected writings of Georg Forster, Alexander von Humboldt, and Adelbert von Chamisso, the author highlights the increasing speed with which knowledge, especially in the experiential sciences, is produced and disseminated following the routes of ever-widening trade speeded along by globalization. The notion of 'vectopia' stands for the connection of utopia and uchronia in space and time in such a way that the experience of the world, expanded worldwide, contains within it a Weiter-Leben, a 'living-further' that is to be understood first in a spatial, and not yet temporal, sense, of what Forster called Erfahrungswissen, or 'experiential knowledge.' Vectopia, as elaborated here, has a material dimension that relates to the physical person, the body, the experience of the world that cannot occur without the constant changing of place, without a journeying that is again and again recommenced. Vectopia develops the projection of a life not from space or from time alone, but by their combination. Vectopia is more than a concept, it is a thought-figure: it is vitally connected to life, and thus a life-figure. It opens itself to a type of knowledge that stands almost at the threshold of a further life, indeed, of a Weiterleben that, opening itself to a 'living-onward,' resides beyond space, time, and movement.},

  abstract  = {Научные интересы А. фон Гумбольдта протираются от ан­тропологии и доколумбовой истории Америки до геологии и географии, климатологии и теории культуры; от физики и географии растений до истории языка, вулканологии и зооло­гии. Будучи ученым, он пересекал дисциплинарные границы и искал новые пути познания. Гумбольдт развивал трансдис­циплинарное и, в широком смысле, номадическое знание. Как настоящий кочевник, он не стремился завоевать или разрушить территорию знания. И потому неудивительно, что он стал одним из основоположников экологического и гео-экологического мышления. Гумбольдт публиковал работы на немецком и французском языках. В своих «Американских дневниках», которые были возвращены в Берлин в ноябре 2013 г., но до сих пор не изучены, Гумбольдт постоянно пере­ходит с немецкого на французский, с латинского на испанский. Автор «Космоса» чужд всякого национализма. Гумбольдт - это номад от науки, и в этом смысле - гражданин мира. Первый теоретик глобализации кочевал от слова к слову, от науки к науке, от мира к миру. Для него постоянное перемещение бы­ло не просто основой научной программы, а образом жизни. Гумбольдт не стремился к специализации в знании, поскольку она ограничивает диалог с другими областями. Его мышление не укладывается в привычные понятия дисциплинарности или междисциплинарности. Оно взыскует нового мира, в котором человечество будет существовать в согласии и свободе.},

  abstract  = {This article presents and discusses Jo{\~a}o Guimar{\~a}es Rosa as an outstanding Brazilian author whose literary work, especially Sagarana, expresses aesthetically different ways of life-forms between human beings, animals, plants, and landscapes. Movement and transformations are the basic principles in which the melody of prose expresses itself as a language in and as motion. Although based in Brazilian culture, Rosa shows the conviviality of different logics which are not reduced to one myth of the Brazilian people, but produce multiple ways of co-existence between different life-forms and culture narratives. The translingual title "Sagarana" already alludes to the transitions between two languages, regions, and cultures: the Icelandic "saga-" and the Tupic-Word "rana" which means "similar" or "alike." The interpretation figures out the correlation of different provenances ("Herk{\"u}nfte") which emerge from Rosa's craft of storytelling. In its center, the Sert{\~a}o arises as a region of nature whose forces are connected with the life of human beings. As fractal of the world, it symbolizes Brazilian relations as a world of its own and at the same time as a part of the world of others. From this point of view the essay turns world literature upside down: it emphasizes on the one hand that the epoch of world literature since Goethe has come to an end and that the meridian has shifted to Latin America. On the other hand it can be observed that the lusophonic world between Brazil and Angola, Portugal and Kap Verde develops new perspectives on literatures of the world beyond the fixed coordinations of periphery and center. Rosa's ways of world making already shift the perspective from the local to the global as a miniatured model of a universe which reveals interpretations of a better understanding of the world as world fractals.},

  abstract  = {Garcilaso de la Vega el Inca, for several centuries doubtlessly the most discussed and most eminent writer of Andean America in the 16th and 17th centuries, throughout his life set the utmost value on the fact that he descended matrilineally from Atahualpa Yupanqui and from the last Inca emperor, Huayna C{\´a}pac. Thus, both in his person and in his creative work he combined different cultural worlds in a polylogical way.1 Two painters boasted that very same Inca descent - they were the last two great masters of the Cuzco school of painting, which over several generations of artists had been an institution of excellent renown and prestige, and whose economic downfall and artistic marginalization was vividly described by the French traveller Paul Mancoy in 1837.2 While, during the 18th century, Cuzco school paintings were still much cherished and sought after, by the beginning of the following century the elite of Lima regarded them as behind the times and provincial, committed to an 'indigenous' painting style. The artists from up-country - such was the reproach - could not keep up with the modern forms of seeing and creating, as exemplified by European paragons.   abstract  = {As the world cannot be adequately understood from the vantage point of a single language, the literatures of the world can no longer be trimmed to a single world literature in the Goethean sense. This recognition bodes well for the future of philology and of literary production. Through multiperspectival writing, knowledge of life may be attainable without being reduced to a single political, medial, cartographical, geocultural, or aesthetic logic. As a laboratory for polylogical thinking, literature does not represent reality, as Erich Auerbach put it. Rather, it represents multiple lived, experienced, or relivable realities. Whoever is open to a polylogical reception of the literatures of the world can perceive and experience how life knowledge transforms into lived knowledge and how knowledge for survival turns into knowledge for living together. However, literature can be more than it is only if it stays aware of the void, of lack, of privation, of the interminable: aware of the end that never is an end. Such a planetary concept of the literatures of the world offers valuable opportunities to all those who do not fall into the trap of contenting themselves with a supposed abundance of text.},

  abstract  = {Die Universit{\"a}t Potsdam verlieh am 22. Juni 2017 an die t{\"u}rkische Politologin Hilal Alkan erstmals den „Voltaire-Preis f{\"u}r Toleranz und V{\"o}lkerverst{\"a}ndigung und Respekt vor Differenz". Mit dem Preis ehrt die Universit{\"a}t k{\"u}nftig einmal j{\"a}hrlich eine Person, die sich f{\"u}r die Freiheit von Forschung und Lehre sowie f{\"u}r das Recht auf freie Meinungs{\"a}ußerung eingesetzt hat. Voltaire wurde Namensgeber des Preises, weil er als Vordenker f{\"u}r den gesellschaftlichen Toleranz-Gedankens z{\"a}hlt. Sein Pl{\"a}doyer f{\"u}r Toleranz zwischen den Religionen, gegen Fanatismus und Aberglauben ist heute so aktuell wie lange nicht. Die Stadt Potsdam und ihre Universit{\"a}t sind mit Voltaire, der Aufkl{\"a}rungsepoche und dem Toleranzgedanken eng verbunden. In Potsdam lebt der Geist der Aufkl{\"a}rung und Toleranz, was im Leitbild der Stadt {\"o}ffentlich dokumentiert ist. Gelebt wird dieser Geist in Projekten wie dem „Neuen Potsdamer Toleranzedikt von 2008" oder dem B{\"u}ndnis „Potsdam bekennt Farbe", an dem die Universit{\"a}t Potsdam beteiligt ist. Auch Ehemalige der Universit{\"a}t engagieren sich f{\"u}r Frieden, Toleranz und Demokratieentwicklung. Da liegt es nahe das Thema zum inhaltlichen Schwerpunkt des Ihnen hier vorliegenden Magazins zu machen. Auf unseren Aufruf zur Mitwirkung meldeten sich rund 50 Ehemalige aus aller Welt, die von ihren Engagements berichteten. Eine Auswahl von 12 Berichten pr{\"a}sentieren wir in diesem Heft. Mit dabei ist etwa Geo{\"o}kologe Sylvio Mannel, der in einem amerikanischen Indianerreservat gearbeitet und die Lakota bei der R{\"u}ckbesinnung auf ihre stolze Tradition unterst{\"u}tzt hat. Oder Nicole Erfurth, die afghanischen M{\"a}dchen eine gute Schulbildung erm{\"o}glichen will. Oder aber Ralf Wunderlich, der als Profitrainer f{\"u}r Fußball nach Finnland auswanderte und nun mit Fl{\"u}chtlingen trainiert. In diesem Heft stellen wir auch aktuelle Projekte Ihrer Alma Mater zu diesem Themenkomplex vor und berichten dar{\"u}ber hinaus von den H{\"o}hepunkten des Jahres 2017.},

  abstract  = {Derzeit findet weltweit ein Umdenken in der Behindertenpolitik statt. Hat man bislang im Zusammenhang mit behinderten Menschen von der Integration, also der Anpassung behinderter Menschen an die Gesellschaft gesprochen, so geht es inzwischen um Inklusion. Der Begriff bringt zum Ausdruck, dass die Gesellschaft den Bed{\"u}rfnissen behinderter Menschen im gesellschaftlichen Miteinander gerechter werden will. Angestoßen hat diesen Prozess die Behindertenrechtskonvention der Vereinten Nationen, die aufzeigt, was gegeben sein muss, damit behinderte Menschen ihre Menschenrechte auch wahrnehmen k{\"o}nnen. In der Konsequenz wird so Inklusion auch zur Kernaufgabe von Hochschulen. Denn diese haben ihre Angebote und Arbeitsbedingungen insgesamt so zu gestalten, dass Menschen mit Behinderungen ohne Diskriminierung an der Hochschularbeit teilhaben k{\"o}nnen. Wie gut das an der Universit{\"a}t Potsdam gelingt, erz{\"a}hlt die diesj{\"a}hrige Ausgabe unseres Alumni-Magazins. Insbesondere in der Betreuung unserer Studierenden k{\"o}nnen wir auf ein seit Jahren gut funktionierendes Betreuungsnetzwerk stolz sein, und auch im Hochschulsport gibt es vielz{\"a}hlige inklusive Angebote. Aber nat{\"u}rlich ist da noch viel Luft nach oben. Daher wird die Universit{\"a}t im kommenden Jahr ein Gesamtkonzept „Inklusive Hochschule" entwickeln, das die erfolgreichen Projekte wie Studierendenf{\"o}rderung, Barrierefreiheit, Gesundheitsf{\"o}rderung, chancengerechte Personalentwicklung oder Antidiskriminierungsarbeit mitdenkt und integriert. Zuvor aber berichten wir in der diesj{\"a}hrigen Ausgabe von Absolventinnen und Absolventen und Studierenden mit Behinderungen oder chronischen Erkrankungen. Wir erfahren, wie inklusiv sie unsere Hochschule erleben oder erlebt haben und vor allem, ob und wie eine gelebte Integration Sichtweise von Menschen ver{\"a}ndert (hat). Des Weiteren stellen wir Ehemalige vor, die heute in Schulen, Beh{\"o}rden oder sozialen Einrichtungen beruflich oder ehrenamtlich mit Inklusionsaufgaben befasst sind. Schließlich informieren wir in diesem Heft auch wieder {\"u}ber aktuelle Projekte an der Universit{\"a}t Potsdam.},
