  abstract  = {Within the Quito-Guayllabamba intermontane basin of Ecuador, five unusually large colluvial deposits of ancient landslides have been identified and analyzed in this study. The voluminous rotational MM-5 Guayllabamba landslide is the largest one, with a volume of 1183 million m3. The mega debris-avalanches MM-1 Conocoto, MM-3 Oyacoto, and MM-4 San Francisco were originally triggered by an initial rupture that was associated with a rotational landslide, the corresponding deposits have volumes between 399 to 317 million m3. Finally, the deposit with the smallest volume, the MM-2 Bat{\´a}n rotational landslide and debris fall, has a volume of 8,7 million m3. In this thesis, a detailed study of these large mass movements was carried out using neotectonic and litho-tephrostratigraphic methods to understand the geological and geomorphological boundary conditions that might have been relevant for triggering such mass movements. The neotectonic part of the study was based on the qualitative and quantitative geomorphic analysis of these large mass-movement deposits through the structural characterization of anticlines located east of the Quito sub-basin and their collapsed flanks that constitute the break-off areas. This part of the analysis was furthermore supported by the application of different morphometric indices to reveal tectonically forced landscape evolution processes that may have aided mass-movement generation. The litho-tephrostratigraphic part of the study was based on the analysis of petrographic, geochemical, and geochronological characteristics of soil horizons and intercalated volcanic ashes with the aim to constrain the timing of individual mass-movement events and their potential correlation. The results were integrated into chronostratigraphic schemes using break-off surfaces, cross-cutting and superposition relationships of landslide deposits and subsequently deposited strata to understand the mass movements in the tectonic and temporal context of the intermontane basin setting, as well as to identify the triggering mechanisms for each event. The MM-5 Guayllabamba mass movement is the result of the collapse of the southwestern slope of the Mojanda volcano and was triggered by the interaction of geologic and morphologic conditions approximately 0,81 Ma. The first debris-avalanche episode of the MM-3 Oyacoto and MM-4 San Francisco mass movements could be related to both geological and morphological conditions, given the highly fractured rocks and uplift of the Bellavista-Catequilla anticline that was subsequently incised at the foot of the slope by fluvial erosion. This first episode of collapse most likely occurred around 0,8 Ma. The MM-2 Bat{\´a}n mass movement was possibly also facilitated by a combination of geological and morphological conditions, most likely associated with a reduction in the lithostatic stresses affecting the Chiche and Mach{\´a}ngara formations and an increase of shear stresses during lateral fluvial scouring processes at the flanks of the source areas. This points to a linked process between river erosion and uplift processes associated with the evolution of the El Bat{\´a}n-La Bota anticline that could have occurred between 0,5 and 0,25 Ma. The voluminous MM-1 Conocoto debris avalanche, as well as the second debris avalanche episode that generated the MM-3 Oyacoto and MM-4 San Francisco mass movements, were caused by the gravitational collapse of the Mojanda and Cangahua formations that are characterized by the intercalation of volcanic ashes. The failure of the eastern flank of the anticlines probably was associated with increased available humidity related to regional Holocene climatic variations. The results of paleosol chronology combined with regional chronostratigraphic and paleoclimate data suggests that these debris avalanches were triggered between 5 and 4 ka. Active tectonics has shaped the morphological features of the Quito-Guayllabamba intermontane basin. The triggering of mass movements in this environment is associated with failure of Pleistocene lithologies (lake sediments, alluvial and volcanic deposits) subjected to ongoing deformation processes, seismic activity, and superposed episodes of climate variability. The Metropolitan District of Quito is an integral part of this complex environment and the geological, climatic, and topographic conditions that continue to influence the urban geographic space within this intermontane basin. The city of Quito comprises the area with the largest urban consolidation including the sub-basins of Quito and San Antonio, with a population of 2,872 million inhabitants, reflecting the importance of studying the inherent geological and climatic hazards that this region is confronted with.},

  abstract  = {Comparamos la labializaci{\´o}n no asimiladora de nasales finales en espa{\~n}ol en tres corpus de espa{\~n}ol americano (mexicano, colombiano y paraguayo). Si bien es conocida la labializaci{\´o}n no asimiladora en espa{\~n}ol yucateco, es en gran parte desconocida en otras regiones de habla hispana, por lo que a menudo se atribuye a la influencia maya. Ahora bien, se han se{\~n}alado casualmente h{\´a}bitos de pronunciaci{\´o}n similares tanto en Paraguay como en Colombia. Comparando emp{\´i}ricamente la labializaci{\´o}n en tres corpus constituidos sobre la misma base metodol{\´o}gica, concluimos que la evidencia a favor del contacto ling{\"u}{\´i}stico es como mucho sumamente indirecta. Independientemente de esto, encontramos que la diferencia m{\´a}s marcada es que la tasa de labializaci{\´o}n parece ser determinada por la duraci{\´o}n de la pausa subsiguiente en los datos de la pen{\´i}nsula yucateca, mas no en aquellos de Colombia y Paraguay. Argumentamos que es cierto que el contacto puede eventualmente haber desencadenado el desarrollo de este rasgo en el espa{\~n}ol yucateco, puesto que el espa{\~n}ol actual casi no conoce nasales labiales finales, pero el maya s{\´i}. Sin embargo, el perfil ling{\"u}{\´i}stico (hablantes monoling{\"u}es vs. biling{\"u}es) no tiene ning{\´u}n efecto en nuestros datos yucatecos y paraguayos, y en el total de nuestros datos tampoco encontramos evidencia en favor de la hip{\´o}tesis que el contacto ling{\"u}{\´i}stico hubiera jugado un rol (importante) en el desarrollo de las labiales nasales en las tres variedades.},

  abstract  = {Hate speech has become a widespread phenomenon, however, it remains largely unclear why adolescents engage in it and which factors are associated with their motivations for perpetrating hate speech. To this end, we developed the multidimensional "Motivations for Hate Speech Perpetration Scale" (MHATE) and evaluated the psychometric properties. We also explored the associations between social norms and adolescents' motivations for hate speech perpetration. The sample consisted of 346 adolescents from Switzerland (54.6\% boys; Mage=14; SD=0.96) who reported engagement in hate speech as perpetrators. The analyses revealed good psychometric properties for the MHATE, including good internal consistency. The most frequently endorsed subscale was revenge, followed by ideology, group conformity, status enhancement, exhilaration, and power. The results also showed that descriptive norms and peer pressure were related to a wide range of different motivations for perpetrating hate speech. Injunctive norms, however, were only associated with power. In conclusion, findings indicate that hate speech fulfills various functions. We argue that knowing the specific motivations that underlie hate speech could help us derive individually tailored prevention strategies (e.g., anger management, promoting an inclusive classroom climate). Furthermore, we suggest that practitioners working in the field of hate speech prevention give special attention to social norms surrounding adolescents.},

  abstract  = {The central Andean plateau is the second largest orogenic plateau in the world and has formed in a non-collisional orogenic system. It extends from southern Peru (15°S) to northern Argentina and Chile (27°30'S) and reaches an average elevation of 4,000 m.a.s.l. South of 24°S, the Andean plateau is called Puna and it is characterized by a system of endorheic basins with thick sequences where clastic and evaporitic strata are preserved. Between 26° and 27°30'S, the Puna terminates in a structurally complex zone which coincides with the transition from a normal subduction zone to a flat subduction ("flat slab") zone, which extends to 33°S. This transition zone also coincides with important morphostructural provinces that, from west to east, correspond to i) the Cordillera Frontal, where the Maricunga Belt is located; ii) the Famatina system; and iv) the north-western, thick-skinned Sierras Pampeanas. Various structural, sedimentological, thermochronological and geochronological studies in this region have documented a complex history of deformation and uplift during successive Cenozoic deformation events. These processes caused the increase of crustal thickness, as well as episodes of diachronic uplift, which attained its present configuration during the late Miocene. Subsequently, the plateau experienced a change in deformation style from contraction to extension and transtension documented by ubiquitous normal faults, earthquakes, and magmatic rocks. However, at the southern edge of the Puna plateau and in the transition to the other morphostructural provinces, the variation of deformation processes and the changes in the tectonic stress field are not fully understood. This location is thus ideally located to evaluate how the tectonic stress field may have evolved and how it may have been affected by the presence/absence of an orogenic plateau, as well as by the existence of inherited structural anisotropies within the different tectonic provinces. This thesis investigates the relationship between shallow crustal deformation and the spatiotemporal evolution of the tectonic stress field in the southern sector of the Andean plateau, during pre-, syn- and post-uplift periods of this plateau. To carry out this research, multiple methodological approaches were chosen that include (U-Pb) radiometric dating; the analysis of mesoscopic faults to obtain stress tensors and the orientation of the principal stress axes; the determination of magnetic susceptibility anisotropy in sedimentary and volcanoclastic rocks to identify shortening directions or directions of sedimentary transport; kinematic modeling to infer deep crustal structures and deformation; and finally, a morphometric analysis to identify geomorphological indicators associated with Quaternary tectonism. Combining the obtained results with data from published studies, this study reveals a complex history of the tectonic stress field that has been characterized by changes in orientation and by vertical permutations of the principal stress axes during each deformation regime over the last ~24 Ma. The evolution of the tectonic stress field can be linked with three orogenic phases at this latitude of the Andean orogen: (1) a first phase with an E-W-oriented compression documented between Eocene and middle Miocene, which coincided with Andean crustal thickening, lateral growth, and topographic uplift; (2) a second phase characterized by a compressive transpressional stress regime, starting at ~11 Ma and ~5 Ma on the western and eastern edge of the Puna plateau, respectively, and a compressive stress regime in the Famatina system and the Sierras Pampeanas, which is interpreted to reflect a transition between Neogene orogenic construction and the maximum accumulation of deformation and topographic uplift of the Puna plateau; and (3) a third phase, when the tectonic regime caused a changeover to a tensional stress state that followed crustal thickening and the maximum uplift of the plateau between ~5-4 Ma; this is especially well expressed in the Puna, in its western border area with the Maricunga-Valle Ancho Belt, and along its eastern border in the transition with the Sierras Pampeanas. The results of the study thus document that the plateau rim experienced a shift from a compressional to a transtensional regime, which differs from the tensional state of stress of the Andean Plateau in the northern sectors for the same period. Similar stress changes have been documented during the construction of the Tibetan plateau, where a predominantly compressional stress regime changed to a transtensional regime, but which was superseded by a purely tensional regime, between 14 and 4 Ma.},

  abstract  = {Adolescents around the world are increasingly exposed to cyberhate. More knowledge is needed to understand how adolescents cope with cyberhate and how they can be supported when exposed. To this end, the present study investigated the associations between parental mediation of Internet use and adolescents' problem-focused coping strategies for hypothetical cyberhate victimization while considering family support as a moderator of these relationships. The sample consisted of self-reports of 5,960 adolescents between 12-18 years old (M=14.94; SD=1.61; females: 50.7\%) from Cyprus, Germany, Greece, India, Spain, South Korea, and Thailand. A structural equation model was used to investigate the relationship among parental mediation, family support, and coping with cyberhate. Findings showed a positive relationship between instructive parental mediation and adolescents' problem-focused coping strategies, and a negative relationship between restrictive parental mediation and adolescents' capability to cope productively with cyberhate. In addition, family support strengthened the positive relationship between instructive parental mediation and adolescents' use of coping strategies and attenuated the negative relationship between restrictive parental mediation and adolescents' use of coping strategies. The findings highlight the need for parental education training and underscore the importance of family support for increasing adolescents' ability to cope productively with cyberhate.},

  abstract  = {In der vorliegenden Arbeit soll aufgezeigt werden, daβ die Erz{\"a}hlungen von Tom{\´a}s Carrasquilla Naranjo (1858 - Medell{\´i}n, 1940) einen Wahrheitsgehalt (Benjamin, 2012) in sich bergen, eine tempor{\"a}re konkrete Verwirklichung einer Idee, die sich materialisiert in dem, was ich hier Bild der Volksreligiosit{\"a}t nenne. Das heiβt, das Erz{\"a}hlwerk von Carrasquilla ist wie ein groβes Mosaik konstruiert, in dem das Zusammenf{\"u}gen der verschiedenen und ungleichen Elemente, aus dem es besteht, ein Bild ergibt. Dieses Bild stellt die historische Erfahrung der Moderne in den {\"a}rmeren Bev{\"o}lkerungsschichten dar, ausgehend von der fl{\"u}chtigen Verbindung zwischen veralteten Traditionen und neueren Lebensformen. Weit entfernt von den Konventionen seiner Zeit, wo die Frage nach den Erfahrungen der Moderne groβst{\"a}dtische Gebiete und die Rolle des K{\"u}nstlers beinfluβt, fragt sich Carrasquilla, was in den weiten l{\"a}ndlichen Gebieten oder in den Grenzgebieten zwischen Stadt und Land geschieht, und nach den {\"U}berschneidungen. Die Bewohner dieser Gebiete, denen konzeptionelle Werkzeuge zur Definierung dieser neuen „lebenden Erfahrung", dieser neuen Structures and Feeling, wie Raymond Williams sie nennt, (2019) fehlen, greifen zur{\"u}ck auf das Einzige, was sie kennen, das veraltete, m{\"u}ndlich {\"u}bermittelte Wissen, um sich ihr Hier und Jetzt zu erkl{\"a}ren. In diesem Sinne kann man behaupten, daβ Carrasquilla, indem er dieses Bild der Volksreligiosit{\"a}t benutzt, einen Dialog im literarischen Bereich herstellen wollte, von dem aus er eine differenzierende Idee der Moderne postulierte. Der Autor bekr{\"a}ftigte mehrmals, daβ die Literatur lokale Erfahrungen in den Dialog des Universellen einbeziehen sollte. Ein Beispiel daf{\"u}r ist der Vergleich der Literatur mit dem Planetensystem, denn, wie Carrasquilla meinte, hierarchische Strukturen erscheinen, wenn diejenigen L{\"a}nder, die literarische Modetendenzen produzieren, d.h. die Planeten (Europa), Andere zum Satellitendasein degradieren, d.h. zum Imitieren. Heute kann in dieser an seine Landsleute, die Modernisten aus Antioquia, gerichteten Kritik eine Geltendmachung der Alterit{\"a}t gesehen werden. Obwohl sich die Erfahrungen von denjenigen in den jungen groβst{\"a}dtischen Gebieten, wo G{\"u}ter zum neuen Ersatz von Glauben geworden sind, unterscheiden, wird im vorliegenden Text behauptet, daβ in den weiten Gebieten, die provinziell und weit entfernt vom Kontakt mit anderen Kulturen und anderem Wissen erscheinen, das Bild der Volksreligiosit{\"a}t dieselbe Rolle spielt. Mit anderen Worten, "indem an Dingen ihr Gebrauchswert abstirbt" (Nutzen oder Anbetung), weist die Subjektivit{\"a}t der Person ihnen "Intentionen von Wunsch und Angst" (Benjamin, 2013a). zu und verwandelt sie in Anbetungsobjekte, die bei sich getragen oder gesammelt werden. Auf {\"a}hnliche Weise bediente Carrasquilla sich des gesammelten Restwissens seiner hypothetischen Leserschaft, ein Erbgut verschiedener Kulturbereiche - dank des Kolonisierungsprozesses - sowie der entsprechenden unterschiedlichen Zeiten und Sprachen (Ette, 2019), um es mit den gegenw{\"a}rtigen profanen Erfahrungen zu verbinden.   abstract  = {Nowadays, we know about 4,475 iconographic representations dedicated to the Amazonian universe in Antiquity. Most of them belong to vase painting pieces (3,448). This current work analyze the Amazonian emblems that appear in a high percentage of these representations (725), together with the few examples associated with other artistic supports. In that way, we will study the chosen designs, which of them achieved greater popularity and the possible reasons why some of them were more popular in certain contexts. According to the results, we can discover that the Amazons present a type of emblem very similar to that used by the hoplites who fought against them in the same representation of the Amazonomachy. It is true that we appreciate a greater interest in certain models within a broad group of options that became traditional for Amazonian representations, but the results of this study suggest that the artists freely chose between them. However, his decision could be influenced by aspects such as the predominant trends in each period, the tastes of the export markets or the influence generated by other types of works (mainly paintings, reliefs or sculptures) whose popularity made them models.},

  abstract  = {En los {\´u}ltimos a{\~n}os, la cr{\´i}tica ha vuelto a enfatizar el v{\´i}nculo de la escritura gongorina la {\´e}pica y los subg{\´e}neros denominados "heroicos" (Mercedes Blanco, Jes{\´u}s Ponce C{\´a}rdenas). Esta nueva perspectiva significa un cambio importante respecto a la recepci{\´o}n del poeta instaurada por la Generaci{\´o}n del 27 y en particular por D{\´a}maso Alonso. Limit{\´a}ndose a las Soledades de G{\´o}ngora, el presente art{\´i}culo explora las consecuencias de este nuevo paradigma, m{\´a}s all{\´a} de un G{\´o}ngora puramente l{\´i}rico. Metodol{\´o}gicamente, proponemos dejar atr{\´a}s la dial{\´e}ctica idealista o marxista de forma-contenido (la ideolog{\´i}a de la forma de Fredric Jameson), por considerarla un enfoque anacr{\´o}nico en el caso de G{\´o}ngora. Sin embargo, encontramos un acercamiento filol{\´o}gico viable en el compromiso de la forma del temprano Barthes, que trata de esquivar la dial{\´e}ctica de forma-contenido y volver a un gesto de escritura ({\´e}criture). La hip{\´o}tesis del presente art{\´i}culo ser{\´i}a, pues, que no se ha reflexionado suficientemente sobre el gesto de la escritura gongorina en las Soledades: una escritura que piratea el lenguaje {\´e}pico.},

La primera la extraigo de la m{\´a}s reciente biograf{\´i}a del escritor peruano, C{\´e}sar Vallejo: A Literary Biography, obra del hispanista brit{\´a}nico Stephen Hart. Refiere Hart que en sus primeros a{\~n}os en Par{\´i}s la situaci{\´o}n de Vallejo era tan precaria que cuando viajaba en tren evitaba descender del vag{\´o}n hasta que no se hubiera detenido del todo para no desgastar su {\´u}nico par de zapatos. En cierta ocasi{\´o}n, yendo con unos amigos y top{\´a}ndose con una acera encharcada por la ruptura de una boca de riego, Vallejo prefiri{\´o} dar media vuelta y despedirse de sus amigos antes que arriesgarse a arruinar sus zapatos atravesando el charco (108). Quisiera contrastar esta imagen, que sintetiza la penuria econ{\´o}mica que marc{\´o} la vida de Vallejo en Par{\´i}s y en general los quince a{\~n}os que pas{\´o} en Europa desde que abandon{\´o} el Per{\´u} en 1923 hasta su muerte en 1938, con la imagen que propone una fotograf{\´i}a (v{\´e}ase Fig. 1). Es una fotograf{\´i}a muy conocida: tomada en 1929 por Juan Domingo C{\´o}rdoba en el curso de un paseo veraniego por Versalles, se ha convertido en una suerte de imagen emblem{\´a}tica, reproducida en numerosas reediciones de la obra de Vallejo. De hecho, lo que a m{\´i} siempre me llam{\´o} la atenci{\´o}n en esta imagen es la pose. La pose, y la elegancia del atuendo. Consideremos por un momento lo atildado del traje, el coqueto pa{\~n}uelo que asoma del bolsillo superior de la chaqueta, el anillo con un {\´a}gata negra engastada en el dedo coraz{\´o}n, el sombrero de fieltro dejado al desgaire en la pierna, el se{\~n}orial bast{\´o}n—o la corbata anudada en pajarita con que aparece en otra fotograf{\´i}a contempor{\´a}nea (v{\´e}ase Fig. 2). Si hubiera que definir en una palabra la elegancia de esa pose, yo dir{\´i}a que es la pose de un dandy. Un dandy de zapatos gastados. En los m{\´u}ltiples transtierros de Vallejo, y en particular en los quince a{\~n}os que vivi{\´o} en Par{\´i}s, coexisten as{\´i} pues la precariedad econ{\´o}mica del emigrante y el cosmopolitismo del viajero culto.},

  abstract  = {The prevalence of reading difficulties (RD) reflects controversial data ranging from 3.1-3.2\% to 17.5\%. Possible explanations are partly based on the incidence of orthography-specific factors influencing the reading process, but also on methodological differences that hinder comparison of the reported results. For this reason, the present study aims to analyse the prevalence of RD in a sample of 1,408 Spanish-speaking school children by comparing different ways of calculating the prevalence rate. The results reflect a prevalence of 2.2-5.3\%, consistent with data reported for predominantly transparent orthographies. Some of the procedures used to identify RD are more accurate in early school years than at more advanced moments of schooling. Furthermore, the consideration of students' sex when calculating the prevalence of RD seems to represent a more sensitive way of identifying students with RD.},

  abstract  = {Esta investigaci{\´o}n propone un estudio transareal de las series autoficcionales del escritor austriaco Thomas Bernhard y el colombiano Fernando Vallejo, dos autores cuya obra se caracteriza por una dura cr{\´i}tica a sus pa{\´i}ses de origen, a sus Heimaten, pero tambi{\´e}n por un complejo arraigamiento. Los an{\´a}lisis interpretativos demuestran que en Die Autobiographie y El r{\´i}o del tiempo la Heimat se presenta como un constructo que abarca no solamente elementos dichosos, sino que presenta tambi{\´e}n elementos negativos, disolutivos, destructivos, con lo cual ambos autores de distancian de una concepci{\´o}n tradicional de Heimat como territorio necesariamente arm{\´o}nico al que el sujeto se siente positivamente vinculado. En cambio, ella se concibe como un conjunto dis{\´i}mil, frente al cual el sujeto se relaciona, necesariamente, de modo ambivalente y problem{\´a}tico. En ambos autores la narraci{\´o}n literaria se configura como un acto en el que no simplemente se representa esa ambivalencia, sino en el que, sobre todo, se impugnan las formas de hostilidad que le confieren a la Heimat su car{\´a}cter inh{\´o}spito. Para ello, ambos autores recurren a la implementaci{\´o}n de dos recursos fundamentales: la m{\´i}mesis y el movimiento. La investigaci{\´o}n muestra de qu{\´e} manera las obras estudiadas la Heimat se presenta como un espacio de continuos movimientos, intercambios e interacciones, en el que act{\´u}an mecanismos de opresi{\´o}n, pero tambi{\´e}n dispositivos de oposici{\´o}n, pr{\´a}cticas de apertura intersubjetiva y aspiraciones de integraci{\´o}n comunitaria.},

  abstract  = {This work seeks to lay the foundations for a new music education epistemology inspired by the text A Thousand Plateaus by the Frenchmen Deleuze and Guattari. Contemplating music as a rhizome and the music classroom as a rhizomorphic system allows the properties of music making to be analyzed as part of a decentralized system of interactions between performative forces that transcend the music score (in the traditional sense of the score being the principal and only monument considered as part of the curriculum). In this way it distances itself from the imaginary museum and its ideologists. Understanding the music classroom as a social performative space permits the characteristics of rhizomorphic systems to be studied in this field. With the help of the principles of connection, heterogeneity, multiplicity, asignifying ruptures and map making, the universals of classical musicology are confirmed to not be valid when used as a single reference point applied in educational contexts.},

  abstract  = {This thesis constitutes a multidisciplinary study of the central sector of the Santa B{\´a}rbara System geological province, the tectonically active broken foreland of the central Andes of north-western Argentina. The study is based on a tectono-geomorphic characterization combined with a variety of geophysical and structural studies. The principal focus was on the faulted piedmont regions of the Sierra de La Candelaria and, to a lesser degree, the extreme south of the intermontane Met{\´a}n basin. The study region is located in the border area between the provinces of Salta and Tucum{\´a}n. The main objective was to characterize and analyze evidence of Quaternary tectonic activity in the region, in order to increase the available information on neotectonic structures and their seismogenic potential. To this end, several methods were applied and integrated, such as the interpretation of seismic reflection lines, the creation of structural sections and kinematic modeling, as well as near-surface geophysical methods, in order to explore the geometry of faults observed at the surface and to assess the behavior of potential blind faults. In a first step, a geomorphic and structural survey of the study area was carried out using LANDSAT and SENTINEL 2 multispectral satellite images, which allowed to recognize different levels of Quaternary alluvial fans and fluvial terraces that are important strain markers in the field. In a second step, different morphometric indexes were determined from digital elevation models (DEM) and combined with field observations; it was possible to identify evidence of tectonic deformation related to four neotectonic faults. In a third step, three structures (Arias, El Quemado and Copo Quile faults) were selected for more detailed studies involving Electrical Resistive Tomography (ERT) and Seismic Refraction Tomography (SRT). This part of the study enabled me to define the geometry of faults at depth, helped to infer geometric and kinematic characteristics, and confirmed the extent of recent deformation. The Arias and El Quemado faults were interpreted as reverse faults related to layer-parallel, flexuralslip faulting, while the Copo Quile fault was interpreted as a blind reverse fault. Subsequently, a joint interpretation of seismic reflection lines and well-logs from the Choromoro and Met{\´a}n basins was carried out, to decipher the principal structures and their influence on the deformation of the different sedimentary units in the intermontane basins. The obtained information was integrated into a kinematic model. This model suggests that the recent deformation is driven by a blind, deep-seated reverse fault, located under the Sierra de La Candelaria and Cantero anticline. The corresponding shortening involves the sedimentary strata of the Salta and Or{\´a}n groups in the adjacent basins, which was accommodated by faults that moved along stratal boundaries, thus bending and folding the Quaternary deposits at the surface. The kinematic model enabled identifying the approximate location of the important detachment horizons that control the overall crustal deformation style in this region. The shallowest detachment horizon is located at 4 km depth and controls deformation in a thin-skinned manner. In addition, the horizon of the thick-skinned style of deformation was identified at 21 km depth. Finally, from the integration of all the results obtained, the seismogenic potential of the faults in the study area was evaluated. The first-order faults that control deformation in the area are responsible for the large earthquakes. While, Quaternary flexural-slip faults affecting only the sedimentary cover are secondary structures that accommodate deformation and were activated very low magnitude earthquakes and/or aseismic movements. In conclusion, the results of this study allow to demonstrate that the regional fault system of intrabasinal faults in the Santa B{\´a}rbara System constitutes a potential seismogenic source in the region, where numerous towns and extensive civilian infrastructure are located. In addition, the derived kinematic model requires the existence of numerous blind structures. Only for a small number of these their presence can be unambiguously detected at the surface by geomorphic analysis, which emphasizes the need of conducting this type of studies in tectonically active regions such as the Santa B{\´a}rbara System.},

  abstract  = {The eastern flank of the southern Central Andes in north-western Argentina (NWA) is characterized by fault-bounded mountain ranges arranged in a thick-skinned active contractional orogen with a non-systematic spatiotemporal pattern of tectonic activity. This pattern is represented by instrumentally recorded crustal seismic activity as well as the distribution of Quaternary deformation phenomena along the Eastern Cordillera and the Santa B{\´a}rbara System morphotectonic provinces, creating a wide (> 200km) deformation zone that lacks a clear deformation front. The study of the neotectonic activity in this region has become more detailed over the past years and has involved morphotectonic analysis, remote sensing, geodesy, and field-based structural studies. Lacustrine deposits in the intermontane basins of the Eastern Cordillera that are exposed in areas associated with Quaternary faulting - due to their original horizontality of the fine-grained layers, are excellent strain markers to assess neotectonic activity. I analyzed lacustrine deposits that outcrop in the central area of the Calchaqu{\´i} valleys (Cafayate sector) to understand how deformation is accommodated in one of the largest intermontane basins of the tectonically active orogen. The strike of the Quaternary structures in the studied area is parallel to subparallel to the valley-bounding faults. With the stratigraphic, morphotectonic and structural study of the lacustrine deposits, I identified a minimum of five deformation episodes that affected the Quaternary stratigraphic section. Based on this I present Late Pleistocene minimum and maximum shortening rates for the central Calchaqu{\´i} intermontane valley that range between 0,19-4,47 mm/yr, respectively. The rates presented are based on balanced geological cross sections and geochronological ages obtained in this study as well as compilations from previously published studies. In order to compare the local shortening results at regional and different temporal scales, I additionally compiled Global Positioning System data from northwest Argentina to generate a surface-velocitiy profile. The results reveal a gradual decrease in horizontal surface velocities from the Eastern Cordillera toward the foreland, indicating tectonic activity in the interior of the orogen, which is recorded by seismic activity and the wide distribution of Quaternary faults and folds. In addition to the neotectonic investigation carried out in the study area, the stratigraphic analysis of the lacustrine deposits allowed to have a better understanding of the Quaternary basin evolution of the central area of the Calchaqu{\´i} valleys. At least seven distinct lacustrine deposits could be identified that correspond to an impoundment of the fluvial system and ensuing base-level changes, resulting in successive aggradation and subsequent erosion events. Together with a hydrological model previously published for the study area, the maximum elevations that the paleolakes reached were furthermore reviewed and compared with regional paleoclimate data to allow local climatic inferences. The results of this thesis are a significant contribution to our understanding of the Quaternary tectonic and the stratigraphic evolution of the central sector of the Calchaqu{\´i} valleys. Furthermore, the integration of local structural and geochronological data with regional structural and geodetic observations contributes to our knowledge of the deformation dynamics of the thick-skinned orogenic wedge of northwest Argentina.},

No obstante, en ello se pierde de vista con frecuencia la verdadera funci{\´o}n de los marcadores de evidencialidad que hacen referencia al origen del conocimiento del hablante.   abstract  = {This paper is concerned with constructions that express probability and their interaction with the indicative and subjunctive mood, as well as with other contextual elements. In detail, the paper deals with the constructions [sin duda + indicative/subjunctive], [tal vez + indicative/subjunctive], [probablemente + indicative/subjunctive] and [posiblemente + indicative/subjunctive]. In their interaction with mood, the constructions are understood as different microconstructions. For example, [sin duda + indicative] and [sin duda + subjunctive] are seen as different microconstructions of the superordinate mesoconstruction [modal construction (of probability) + verb]. In a qualitative analysis examples from the CREA, CORPES XXI, and CdE corpora are examined regarding the interaction of [expression of probability] + [mood]. Following the Principle of No Synonymy of Grammatical Forms, the analysis confirms that the use of mood additionally influences the expressed degree of probability of the constructions. For instance, while probablemente generally expresses a slightly higher probability than posiblemente, a fine-tuned analysis shows that the expressed degrees of probability of [probablemente + subjunctive] and [posiblemente + indicative] are highly similar. This is also often confirmed by further contextual information. In summary, the paper shows that Cognitive Construction Grammar is a very suitable background against which to investigate modal phenomena, as cognitive approaches generally deal with the ways in which language users conceptualize the world from their own point of view, and as expressions of modality, more precisely, probability, are also closely related to speakers' attitudes or perspectives.},
