This paper presents and evaluates a system to predict short-term runoff from the upper part of that basin (380km(2)). It was designed as a possible component of an operational warning system yet to be installed. For the purpose of forecast verification, hindcasts of streamflow were generated for a period of 15 months with a time-continuous, conceptual hydrological model. The latter was fed with real-time observations of rainfall. Both ground observations and weather radar data were tested as rainfall forcings. The radar-based precipitation estimates clearly outperformed the raingauge-based estimates in the hydrological verification. Nevertheless, the quality of the deterministic short-term runoff forecasts was found to be limited. For the radar-based predictions, the reduction of variance for lead times of 1, 2 and 3hours was 0.61, 0.62 and 0.54, respectively, with reference to a no-forecast scenario, i.e. persistence. The probability of detection for major increases in streamflow was typically less than 0.5. Given the significance of flood events in the Marikina Basin, more effort needs to be put into the reduction of forecast errors and the quantification of remaining uncertainties.}, language = {en} } @misc{BehmMuehlbauerKibeleetal.2016, author = {Behm, David George and M{\"u}hlbauer, Thomas and Kibele, Armin and Granacher, Urs}, title = {Effects of Strength Training Using Unstable Surfaces on Strength, Power and Balance Performance Across the Lifespan: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis (vol 45, pg 1645, 2015)}, series = {Sports medicine}, volume = {46}, journal = {Sports medicine}, publisher = {Springer}, address = {Northcote}, issn = {0112-1642}, doi = {10.1007/s40279-016-0497-x}, pages = {451 -- 451}, year = {2016}, language = {en} } @misc{HortobagyiLesinskiGableretal.2016, author = {Hortobagyi, Tibor and Lesinski, Melanie and Gabler, Martijn and VanSwearingen, Jessie M. and Malatesta, Davide and Granacher, Urs}, title = {Gait Speed: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (vol 45, pg 1627, 2015)}, series = {Sports medicine}, volume = {46}, journal = {Sports medicine}, publisher = {Springer}, address = {Northcote}, issn = {0112-1642}, doi = {10.1007/s40279-016-0498-9}, pages = {453 -- 453}, year = {2016}, language = {en} } @misc{LesinskiHortobagyiMuehlbaueretal.2016, author = {Lesinski, Melanie and Hortobagyi, Tibor and M{\"u}hlbauer, Thomas and Gollhofer, Albert and Granacher, Urs}, title = {Effects of Balance Training on Balance Performance in Healthy Older Adults: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis (vol 45, pg 1721, 2015)}, series = {Sports medicine}, volume = {46}, journal = {Sports medicine}, publisher = {Springer}, address = {Northcote}, issn = {0112-1642}, doi = {10.1007/s40279-016-0500-6}, pages = {457 -- 457}, year = {2016}, language = {en} } @misc{LesinskiHortobagyiMuehlbaueretal.2016, author = {Lesinski, Melanie and Hortobagyi, Tibor and M{\"u}hlbauer, Thomas and Gollhofer, Albert and Granacher, Urs}, title = {Dose-Response Relationships of Balance Training in Healthy Young Adults: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (vol 45, pg 557, 2015)}, series = {Sports medicine}, volume = {46}, journal = {Sports medicine}, publisher = {Springer}, address = {Northcote}, issn = {0112-1642}, doi = {10.1007/s40279-016-0499-8}, pages = {455 -- 455}, year = {2016}, language = {en} } @misc{WippertPuschmannSchiltenwolfetal.2016, author = {Wippert, Pia-Maria and Puschmann, Anne-Katrin and Schiltenwolf, Marcus and Wiebking, Christine and Mayer, Frank}, title = {BACK PAIN: THE STUDY OF MECHANISMS AND THE TRANSLATION IN INTERVENTIONS WITHIN THE MISPEX NETWORK}, series = {Psychosomatic medicine}, volume = {78}, journal = {Psychosomatic medicine}, publisher = {Elsevier}, address = {Philadelphia}, issn = {0033-3174}, pages = {A91 -- A91}, year = {2016}, language = {en} } @misc{MartinezValdesNegroLaineetal.2016, author = {Martinez-Valdes, Eduardo and Negro, Francesco and Laine, Christopher M. and Falla, Deborah L. and Mayer, Frank and Farina, Dario}, title = {Identifying motor units in longitudinal studies with high-density surface electromyography}, series = {Converging clinical and engineering research on neurorehabilitation II}, volume = {15}, journal = {Converging clinical and engineering research on neurorehabilitation II}, publisher = {Springer}, address = {Cham}, isbn = {978-3-319-46669-9}, issn = {2195-3562}, doi = {10.1007/978-3-319-46669-9_27}, pages = {147 -- 151}, year = {2016}, abstract = {We investigated the possibility to identify motor units (MUs) with high-density surface electromyography (HDEMG) over experimental sessions in different days. 10 subjects performed submaximal knee extensions across three sessions in three days separated by one week, while EMG was recorded from the vastus medialis muscle with high-density electrode grids.
