Research limitations/implications - The authors contribute both to the negotiations and the workplace friendship literature because very little research has examined negotiation among friends at work and in particular team negotiations. Interviews indicated a mismatch between academic staff expectations and perceptions. Based on this comparison, the paper criticizes the fact that neoclassical reasoning still prevails in non-equilibrium evolutionary economics when economic policy issues are examined. This is more than surprising, since proponents of evolutionary economics usually view their approach as incompatible with its neoclassical counterpart. Previous studies show that e-mail newsletters commonly include tracking elements. However, prior work does not examine the degree to which e-mail senders actually employ gathered user information. The paper closes this research gap by means of an experimental study to clarify the use of tracking-based infor- mation. To that end, twelve mail accounts are created, each of which subscribes to a pre-defined set of newsletters from companies based in Germany, the UK, and the USA. Systematically varying e-mail reading patterns across accounts, each account simulates a different type of user with individual read- ing behavior. Assuming senders to track e-mail reading habits, we expect changes in mailer behavior. The analysis confirms the prominence of tracking in that over 92\% of the newsletter e-mails contain tracking images. For 13 out of 44 senders an adjustment of communication policy in response to user reading behavior is observed. Observed effects include sending newsletters at different times, adapting advertised products to match the users' IT environment, increased or decreased mailing frequency, and mobile-specific adjustments. This paper fills this void and develops a framework suggesting that the extent to which consumers translate their concerns and obligations for society into a willingness to boycott and/or buycott is bounded by self-interest. Mastering Industry 4.0 requires humans to master the new dimensions of information and to adapt to relevant ongoing changes. Intentional forgetting can make a difference in this context, as it discards nonprevailing information and actions in favor of prevailing ones. Intentional forgetting is the basis of any adaptation to change, as it ensures that nonprevailing memory items are not retrieved while prevailing ones are retained. This study presents a novel experimental approach that was introduced in a learning factory (the Research and Application Center Industry 4.0) to investigate intentional forgetting as it applies to production routines. In the first experiment (N = 18), in which the participants collectively performed 3046 routine related actions (t1 = 1402, t2 = 1644), the results showed that highly proceduralized actions were more difficult to forget than actions that were less well-learned. Against this background, this study considers the influence of human values and the well-being effects of two types of anti-consumption: voluntary simplicity and collaborative consumption. Based on representative data from the US (N = 1075) and Germany (N = 1070), the findings show that the two anti-consumption types do not reduce the well-being of individuals' but in some cases, even improve it, which suggests that lowering consumption can not only help protect environmental resources but also serve the greater good of society. In particular, this relationship holds among collaborative consumers with a strong need for cognition, i.e., a cognitive thinking style that involves a high level of decision control. According to the study results, opposite value orientations are the drivers of voluntary simplicity and collaborative consumption (i.e., a focus on self-transcendence versus self-enhancement). Using verbal and graphic elements, they provide simplified representations of reality and can support BM tasks that go beyond working memory's capacities. Visualisations thus reduce cognitive load and represent how practitioners and researchers think about BMs. However, they can also affect their thinking. This constitutes a thus far insufficiently explained tension between effectively reducing reality's complexity and the resulting cognitive biases. Building on cognitive load and framing theory, we qualitatively analysed 103 BM visualisations to explain how visual elements affect visualisations' cognitive effectiveness (helpfulness and ease of applicability) and unfold visual framing effects. By identifying five visual framing effects, we contribute to the cognitive BM perspective and explain how this set of cognitive factors affects BM management and research. We also found that most BM visualisations are not cognitively effective because they consist of unclear and non-parsimonious elements, limiting their cross-contextual application. Furthermore, the analysis revealed certain visualisations with strictly operationalised BM dimensions. These findings provide essential contributions to the literature on BM methods. Employer Branding schl{\"a}gt die Br{\"u}cke vom Market-based View zum Competence-based View und ist Markenmanagement im Kontext des strategischen Personalmanagements. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird ein holistischer Bezugsrahmen vorgestellt, der die Wirkungszusammenh{\"a}nge respektive Employer Branding darstellt. Das Herzst{\"u}ck ist die Employer Value Proposition, die auf der Markenidentit{\"a}t der Organisation basiert. Ziel des Employer Branding Ansatzes ist es, unter anderem eine pr{\"a}ferenzerzeugende Wirkung im Prozess der Arbeitsplatzwahl sicherzustellen. Die Zielrichtung und die Erkenntnis-Interessen erfordern einen breit angelegten Forschungsansatz, der qualitative und quantitative Methoden kombiniert. Ziel der leitfadengesteuerten Tiefeninterviews (exploratives Studiendesign) ist es, bestehende und noch zu entwickelnde Kompetenzst{\"a}rken der Krankenhausorganisationen zu identifizieren. Bei der Stichprobe handelt es sich um ein „Typical Case Sampling" (N=12). Defizit{\"a}re Befunde, welche Werte und Attraktivit{\"a}tsfaktoren bei angehenden {\"A}rzten ausgepr{\"a}gt sind, werden best{\"a}tigt. In der Krankenhauslandschaft wird eine fragmentarische und reaktive Herangehensweise identifiziert, die die erfolgreiche Rekrutierung von qualifiziertem Krankenhauspersonal erschwert. Durch die qualitative Marktforschung werden Anforderungen des Marktes - also zuk{\"u}nftiges, {\"a}rztliches Krankenhauspersonal - auf faktorenanalytischer Basis analysiert. Die Stichprobe (N=475) ist isomorph. Dabei wird der Prozess der Einstellungsbildung in das neobehavioristische Erkl{\"a}rungsmodell des K{\"a}uferverhaltens eingeordnet. Die Vereinbarkeit von Beruf, Karriere und Familie sowie die betriebliche Kinderbetreuung werden als Schl{\"u}sselkomponenten erkannt. Wichtigste Arbeitswerte in Bezug auf einen attraktiven Arbeitgeber sind Verl{\"a}sslichkeit, Verantwortung und Respekt. Diese Komponenten haben kommunikativen Nutzen und Differenzierungskraft. Schließlich bewerten Bewerber ein Krankenhaus positiver im Prozess der Arbeitsplatzwahl, je mehr die Werte des potentiellen Arbeitnehmers mit dem Werteprofil der Person {\"u}bereinstimmen (Person-Organisation Fit).
