As a field of inquiry, its place is at the intersection - or in the shadow - of the great topics in Jewish Studies and its contributing disciplines. Among them are the modernization and privatization of Judaism and Jewish life; integration and distinctiveness of Jews as individuals and as a group; gender roles and education. These and related questions have been the focus of modern Jewish family research, which took shape as a discipline in the 1910s. This issue of PaRDeS traces the origins of academic Jewish family research and takes stock of its development over a century, with its ruptures that have added to the importance of familial roots and continuities. A special section retrieves the founder of the field, Arthur Czellitzer (1871-1943), his biography and work from oblivion and places him in the context of early 20th-century science and Jewish life. The articles on current questions of Jewish family history reflect the topic's potential for shedding new light on key questions in Jewish Studies past and present. Their thematic range - from 13th-century Yiddish Arthurian romances via family-based business practices in 19th-century Hungary and Germany, to concepts of Jewish parenthood in Imperial Russia - illustrates the broad interest in Jewish family research as a paradigm for early modern and modern Jewish Studies.}, language = {en} } @article{Groezinger2020, author = {Gr{\"o}zinger, Karl Erich}, title = {Obituary}, series = {PaRDeS : Zeitschrift der Vereinigung f{\"u}r J{\"u}dische Studien = Transformative Translations in Jewish History and Culture}, volume = {2020}, journal = {PaRDeS : Zeitschrift der Vereinigung f{\"u}r J{\"u}dische Studien = Transformative Translations in Jewish History and Culture}, number = {26}, publisher = {Universit{\"a}tsverlag Potsdam}, address = {Potsdam}, isbn = {978-3-86956-493-7}, issn = {1614-6492}, doi = {10.25932/publishup-48638}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:kobv:517-opus4-486389}, pages = {171 -- 173}, year = {2020}, language = {de} } @article{Groezinger2010, author = {Gr{\"o}zinger, Karl Erich}, title = {Die "Andere Seite" in der Kabbala - Sitra Achra}, isbn = {978-3-887476-614-2}, year = {2010}, language = {de} } @article{Groezinger2009, author = {Gr{\"o}zinger, Karl Erich}, title = {Meyer, T., Vom Ende der Emanzopation : j{\"u}dische Philosophie und Theologie nach 1933; G{\"o}ttingen , Vandenhoeck \& Rupprecht, 2008}, issn = {1614-6492}, year = {2009}, language = {de} } @article{Groezinger2005, author = {Gr{\"o}zinger, Karl Erich}, title = {Gemeinsame Sprache und gemeinsames Denken der religi{\"o}sen Kulturen im Mittelalter : Anlass zur Hoffnung oder Illusion?}, isbn = {3-86572-339- X}, year = {2005}, language = {de} } @article{Groezinger2004, author = {Gr{\"o}zinger, Karl Erich}, title = {פרשנותו של מרטין בובר לתולדות עם ישראל כניסיון למודרניזציה של היהדות, או: אי-ההבנה הכפולה}, series = {ההיסטוריה הגרמנית-יהודית שירשנו}, journal = {ההיסטוריה הגרמנית-יהודית שירשנו}, publisher = {Leo-Baeck-Institute}, address = {Jerusalem}, isbn = {9654931451}, pages = {36 -- 50}, year = {2004}, language = {mul} } @book{Groezinger2004, author = {Gr{\"o}zinger, Karl Erich}, title = {J{\"u}disches Denken : Theologie - Philosophie - Mystik ; Bd. 1 Vom Gott Abrahams zum Gott des Aristoteles}, volume = {1}, publisher = {Campus-Verl.}, address = {Frankfurt}, isbn = {3-593-37512-5}, pages = {634 S.}, year = {2004}, language = {de} } @article{Groezinger2004, author = {Gr{\"o}zinger, Karl Erich}, title = {Von der Prophetie zur Wissenschaft : auf den religionsgeschichtlichen Spuren des j{\"u}dischen Denkens}, year = {2004}, language = {de} } @article{Groezinger2004, author = {Gr{\"o}zinger, Karl Erich}, title = {Die fr{\"u}hesten Zeugnisse des Judendeutsch oder Jiddisch : Glossare zum Bibeltext}, year = {2004}, language = {de} } @article{Groezinger2004, author = {Gr{\"o}zinger, Karl Erich}, title = {Wahrnehmung und Konstruktion von Raum als Erbe der religi{\"o}sen Kultur am Beispiel des deutschen Judentums}, year = {2004}, language = {de} } @book{Groezinger2003, author = {Gr{\"o}zinger, Karl Erich}, title = {Kafka und die Kabbala : das J{\"u}dische in Werk und Denken von Franz Kafka}, publisher = {Philo}, address = {Berlin}, isbn = {3-8257-0303-7}, pages = {271 S.}, year = {2003}, language = {de} } @article{Groezinger2003, author = {Gr{\"o}zinger, Karl Erich}, title = {Judaism : intra-religous plurality as a chance for discourse between religions}, year = {2003}, language = {en} } @article{Groezinger2002, author = {Gr{\"o}zinger, Karl Erich}, title = {Schaddaj - H{\"u}ter der T{\"u}ren Israels : j{\"u}dische Fr{\"o}mmigkeit im Alltag und Schabbat im 19.
