This study aims at elucidating the dependence of bacterial-induced growth promotion on the plant genotype and characterizing plant metabolic adaptations to PGPB. Eighteen Arabidopsis thaliana accessions were inoculated with the PGPB strain Kosakonia radicincitans DSM 16656(T). Colonisation pattern was assessed by enhanced green fluorescent protein (eGFP)-tagged K. radicincitans in three A. thaliana accessions differing in their growth response. Metabolic impact of bacterial colonisation was determined for the best responding accession by profiling distinct classes of plant secondary metabolites and root exudates. Inoculation of 18 A. thaliana accessions resulted in a wide range of growth responses, from repression to enhancement. Testing the bacterial colonisation of three accessions did not reveal a differential pattern. Profiling of plant secondary metabolites showed a differential accumulation of glucosinolates, phenylpropanoids and carotenoids in roots. Analysis of root exudates demonstrated that primary and secondary metabolites were predominantly differentially depleted by bacterial inoculation. The plant genotype controls the bacterial growth promoting traits. Levels of lutein and beta-carotene were elevated in inoculated roots. Supplementing a bacterial suspension with beta-carotene increased bacterial growth, while this was not the case when lutein was applied, indicating that beta-carotene could be a positive regulator of plant growth promotion.}, language = {en} } @article{TungMaringXuetal.2022, author = {Tung, Wing Tai and Maring, Janita A. and Xu, Xun and Liu, Yue and Becker, Matthias and Somesh, Dipthi Bachamanda and Klose, Kristin and Wang, Weiwei and Sun, Xianlei and Ullah, Imran and Kratz, Karl and Neffe, Axel T. and Stamm, Christof and Ma, Nan and Lendlein, Andreas}, title = {In vivo performance of a cell and factor free multifunctional fiber mesh modulating postinfarct myocardial remodeling}, series = {Advanced Functional Materials}, volume = {32}, journal = {Advanced Functional Materials}, number = {31}, publisher = {Wiley}, address = {Weinheim}, issn = {1616-301X}, doi = {10.1002/adfm.202110179}, pages = {17}, year = {2022}, abstract = {Guidance of postinfarct myocardial remodeling processes by an epicardial patch system may alleviate the consequences of ischemic heart disease. As macrophages are highly relevant in balancing immune response and regenerative processes their suitable instruction would ensure therapeutic success. A polymeric mesh capable of attracting and instructing monocytes by purely physical cues and accelerating implant degradation at the cell/implant interface is designed. In a murine model for myocardial infarction the meshes are compared to those either coated with extracellular matrix or loaded with induced cardiomyocyte progenitor cells. All implants promote macrophage infiltration and polarization in the epicardium, which is verified by in vitro experiments. 6 weeks post-MI, especially the implantation of the mesh attenuates left ventricular adverse remodeling processes as shown by reduced infarct size (14.7\% vs 28-32\%) and increased wall thickness (854 mu m vs 400-600 mu m), enhanced angiogenesis/arteriogenesis (more than 50\% increase compared to controls and other groups), and improved heart function (ejection fraction = 36.8\% compared to 12.7-31.3\%). They are crucial for understanding the pathways to mental disorders as well as the interactions with biological parameters. However, deeper insight is needed into the complex interplay between the type of LE, its subjective evaluation and accompanying factors such as social support. The "Stralsund Life Event List" (SEL) was developed to facilitate this research. Methods: The SEL is a standardized interview that assesses the time of occurrence and frequency of 81 LEs, their subjective emotional valence, the perceived social support during the LE experience and the impact of past LEs on present life. Data from 2265 subjects from the general population-based cohort study "Study of Health in Pomerania" (SHIP) were analysed. Based on the mean emotional valence ratings of the whole sample, LEs were categorized as "positive" or "negative". For verification, the SEL was related to lifetime major depressive disorder (MDD; Munich Composite International Diagnostic Interview), childhood trauma (Childhood Trauma Questionnaire), resilience (Resilience Scale) and subjective health (SF-12 Health Survey). Results: The report of lifetime MDD was associated with more negative emotional valence ratings of negative LEs (OR = 2.96, p < 0.0001). Negative LEs (b = 0.071, p < 0.0001, beta = 0.25) and more negative emotional valence ratings of positive LEs (b = 3.74, p < 0.0001, beta = 0.11) were positively associated with childhood trauma. In contrast, more positive emotional valence ratings of positive LEs were associated with higher resilience (b = -7.05, p < 0.0001, beta = 0.13), and a lower present impact of past negative LEs was associated with better subjective health (b = 2.79, p = 0.001, beta = 0.05). The internal consistency of the generated scores varied considerably, but the mean value was acceptable (averaged Cronbach's alpha > 0.75). Conclusions: The SEL is a valid instrument that enables the analysis of the number and frequency of LEs, their emotional valence, perceived social support and current impact on life on a global score and on an individual item level. Thus, we can recommend its use in research settings that require the assessment and analysis of the relationship between the occurrence and subjective evaluation of LEs as well as the complex balance between distressing and stabilizing life experiences.}, language = {en} } @article{BeckerStrecker2001, author = {Becker, Matthias and Strecker, Romy}, title = {Mehrheitsherrschaft und Individualrechtsschutz bei der Instandsetzung des gemeinschaftlichen Eigentums}, year = {2001}, language = {de} } @book{BeckerKuemmelOtt2003, author = {Becker, Matthias and K{\"u}mmel, Egbert and Ott, Andreas}, title = {Wohnungseigentum : Grundlagen, Systematik, Praxis}, publisher = {Schmidt}, address = {K{\"o}ln}, isbn = {3-504-45026-5}, pages = {XXII, 312 S.}, year = {2003}, language = {de} } @article{BeckerKuemmel2001, author = {Becker, Matthias and K{\"u}mmel, Egbert}, title = {Die Grenzen der Beschlusskompetenz der Wohnungseigent{\"u}mer}, year = {2001}, language = {de} } @article{Becker2003, author = {Becker, Matthias}, title = {Grundrechtsschutz durch Zivilgerichte}, year = {2003}, language = {de} } @article{Becker2002, author = {Becker, Matthias}, title = {Die Anfechtung des Abberufungsbeschlusses durch den abberufenen Verwalter : Besprechung von OLG Hamm, Beschluss vom 27.11.2001 - 15 W 326/01}, year = {2002}, language = {de} } @article{Becker2002, author = {Becker, Matthias}, title = {Die Haftung der Anlagegesellschafter geschlossener Immobilienfonds als Gesellschaft b{\"u}rgerlichen Rechts : Besprechung von BGH, Urteil vom 21.1.2002 - II ZR 2/00}, year = {2002}, language = {de} } @article{Becker2002, author = {Becker, Matthias}, title = {Beschlusskompetenz kraft Vereinbarung : sog. {\"O}ffnungsklausel}, year = {2002}, language = {de} } @article{Becker2002, author = {Becker, Matthias}, title = {Irrt{\"u}mliche Falschbezeichnung des Sondereigentums bei der Ver{\"a}ußerung von Teileigentum; Beitragspflicht des Scheineigent{\"u}mers : Besprechung von BayObLG, Beschluss vom 19.9.2001 - 2Z BR 101/01}, year = {2002}, language = {de} } @article{Becker2002, author = {Becker, Matthias}, title = {Die Geltendmachung von Ersatzanspr{\"u}chen gegen den Frachtf{\"u}hrer gem{\"a}ß \S 421 Abs. 1 Satz 2 HGB}, year = {2002}, language = {de} } @article{Becker2002, author = {Becker, Matthias}, title = {Ergebnisfeststellung und Beschlusstatbestand}, year = {2002}, language = {de} } @article{Becker2002, author = {Becker, Matthias}, title = {Der gerichtliche Vergleich in Wohnungseigentumssachen als Rechtsgesch{\"a}ft der Wohnungseigent{\"u}mer}, year = {2002}, language = {de} } @article{Becker2002, author = {Becker, Matthias}, title = {Anmerkung zu BGH, Beschluss vom 2.5.2002 - V ZB 36/01}, issn = {1616-9743}, year = {2002}, language = {de} } @misc{Becker2002, author = {Becker, Matthias}, title = {Giermann, H.
