  abstract  = {El Proyecto Humboldt ofrece desde 2002 una creciente biblioteca digital para la investigaci{\´o}n de las expediciones europeas a las Islas Canarias entre 1700 y 1900. La idea de Open Access guia el trabajo de la biblioteca que se dirige a la comunidad cientifica tambien como al p{\´u}blico. En este texto se presenta algunos de los resultados del trabajo cientifico de los ultimos a{\~n}os. A continuaci{\´o}n se habla de ideas generales que se refieren a bibliotecas digitales y a desarrollos futuros en este campo. Al final se discute la relaci{\´o}n dificil de las humanidades con el ordenador y se va a criticar la situaci{\´o}n actual.},
