The MoMo-AFB consists of 28 items, covering the fields of everyday physical activity, sports within and outside of organised clubs, physical education as well as compliance with physical activity guidelines. A study was conducted with 109 boys and 87 girls aged between 9 and 17 years. The MoMo-AFB was given on two separate occasions to evaluate reliability and was compared with accelerometry data of ActiGraph GT1X to evaluate validity. The overall kappa/weighted kappa coefficient for the one-week testretest reliability was .66 (SD = .19) and the overall intraclass correlation (ICC) .68. Self-reported and accelerometer-measured average weekly time spent performing moderate to vigorous physical activity were significantly correlated (Spearman r = .29). Empirically we assign the most relevant measures, which were discussed and partially enacted in the course of the euro crisis, to the three ideal types where we identify an increasing tendency towards a distributive solidarity. There are many factors which affect the development of food preferences. The familiarity with different foods seems to be a special aspect associated with the corresponding preference. To establish a preference for fruits and vegetables during early childhood, we need to know more about the factors that affect this preference development. So far, research has mostly concentrated on the food intake and less on the corresponding preference. Additionally, it is often based on studies of the mere-exposure effect or on older children and their ability to label fruits and vegetables correctly. Findings about the level of food familiarity in young children and its relation to the actual food preference are still missing. Our study focuses on different aspects of food familiarity as well as on their relationship to the child's preference and presents results from 213 children aged 2 to 10 years. Using standardized photos, the food preference was measured with a computer-based method that ran automatically without influence from parents or interviewer. The children knew fewer of the presented vegetables (66 \%) than fruits or sweets (78 \% each). About the same number of vegetables (63 \%) had already been tasted by the children and were considered tasty. Only 48 \% of the presented vegetables were named correctly - an ability that increases in older children. A neuropsychological test battery was conducted, and depressive symptoms, psychological stress, and intelligence were also assessed. Results: The analyses revealed no significant group differences regarding cognitive flexibility or visual processing speed, albeit slight better performance in motor processing speed for the CG. Furthermore, no gender differences were observed regarding cognitive flexibility, though female subjects general displayed better performance in processing speed. Psychosocial dysfunctioning of children, such as increased stress experience, is a burden for children and parents and complicates clinical management. Additional comorbid disorders may develop. Through this approach, the cognitive-behavioral, child-centered group program 'Stop the pain with Happy-Pingu' was developed, applied, and subsequently evaluated. What is the psychosocial situation of the affected children? Can the cognitive-behavioral group program be applied to improve psychosocial limitations? Method: The cognitive-behavioral group program comprises 6 weekly sessions for children and 1 single meeting for parents. In a randomized controlled study, the program was evaluated with 29 children aged between 6 and 12 years. The evaluation was based on a comparison between the intervention group (IG) and the waiting list control group (WLC), measured at 3 measurement points: T1 (pre), T2 (post), and T3 (3-month follow-up). Results: Emotional problems in particular can emerge in children with CAP. The program was well received, with a high level of participation through to completion. The results demonstrate that children participating in the IG experience significant stress reduction and improved psychosocial functioning compared to children participating in the WLC. However, there is a void in the literature regarding muscle activation levels during the performance of these exercises. Thus, the purpose of this study was to investigate differences in muscle activation during therapeutic climbing exercises depending on the degree of task difficulty. Participants/Material and Methods: A sample of 10 healthy subjects (sex: 4 females, 6 males; age: 27 +/- 3 years; climbing experience: 5 +/- 3 years) performed three shoulder girdle (i.e., wide shoulder pull, narrow shoulder pull, shoulder row) and two leg extensor (i.e., ascending frontal, ascending sidewards) exercises. Electromyographic (EMG) data were recorded on the right side for eleven muscles and then normalised using the maximum voluntary contractions for each muscle. Results: With increasing task difficulty, muscle activity in all but one muscle (i.e., m. trapezius ascendens) increased significantly for the three shoulder girdle exercises. For the two leg extensor exercises, an increase in task difficulty produced a tendency towards yet not significantly higher muscle activity. Conclusion: Shoulder row was the most effective therapeutic climbing exercise in the ability to activate muscles while showing the highest EMG signals. The absence of significant differences in muscle activity between the two leg extensor exercises indicates their equivalent use for muscle activation during therapy.}, language = {de} } @article{LesinskiMuehlbauerBueschetal.2013, author = {Lesinski, Melanie and M{\"u}hlbauer, Thomas and Buesch, Dirk and Granacher, Urs}, title = {Acute Effects of Postactivation Potentiation on Strength and Speed Performance in Athletes}, series = {Sportverletzung, Sportschaden : Grundlagen, Pr{\"a}vention, Rehabilitation}, volume = {27}, journal = {Sportverletzung, Sportschaden : Grundlagen, Pr{\"a}vention, Rehabilitation}, number = {3}, publisher = {Thieme}, address = {Stuttgart}, issn = {0932-0555}, doi = {10.1055/s-0033-1335414}, pages = {147 -- 155}, year = {2013}, abstract = {Background: The contractile history of a muscle or a muscle group can result in an acute enhancement of subsequent muscle force output. This phenomenon is referred to as postactivation potentiation (PAP) and it was frequently substantiated in original research manuscripts, systematic literature reviews, and meta-analyses. However, there is a lack in the literature regarding precise dose-response relations. This literature review describes the main determinants of PAP effects and additionally presents the state of the art regarding the acute effects of PAP protocols on measures of strength, power, and speed in subelite and elite athletes of different sport disciplines. Furthermore, an attempt is made to demonstrate evidence-based information concerning the design of effective PAP protocols. Methods: Our literature search included the electronic databases Pubmed, SportDiscus, and Google Scholar (1995 - March 2013). In total, 23 studies met the inclusionary criteria for review. Results: Findings from our literature review indicate that various conditioning activities produce acute PAP effects in subelite and particularly elite athletes. More specifically, conditioning activities that are characterised by multiple sets, moderate to high intensities (60 - 84 \% of the one repetition maximum), and rest intervals of 7 - 10 min. following the conditioning activity have the potential to induce short-term improvements in muscle force output and sports performance. Conclusion: It is recommended that subelite and particularly elite athletes from strength, power, and speed disciplines apply specifically tailored conditioning activities during the acute preparation process for competition to induce performance enhancing PAP effects.}, language = {de} } @article{CarlsohnScharhagRosenbergerHeydenreichetal.2013, author = {Carlsohn, Anja and Scharhag-Rosenberger, Friederike and Heydenreich, Juliane and Mayer, Frank}, title = {Vitamin-D-Status of athletes with higher UV-exposure during training}, series = {Ern{\"a}hrungs-Umschau : Forschung \& Praxis}, volume = {60}, journal = {Ern{\"a}hrungs-Umschau : Forschung \& Praxis}, number = {10}, publisher = {Umschau-Zeitschriftenverl.}, address = {Frankfurt, Main}, issn = {0174-0008}, pages = {174 -- 176}, year = {2013}, language = {de} } @article{AnklamBehlerDingermannetal.2013, author = {Anklam, Elke and Behler, J{\"o}rg and Dingermann, Theodor and Elsinghorst, Paul and Fischer, Jochen and Esselen, Melanie and Foerster, Christian and Fr{\"o}hlich, Daniel and Goedel, Werner Andreas and Gregory, Peter and Grimme, Stefan and Hackenberger, Christian and Hansmann, Max and Heppekausen, Johannes and Hasenstab-Riedel, Sebastian and Kirchhoff, Erhard and Kratz, Karl-Ludwig and Krausz, Ferenc and Linker, Torsten and List, Benjamin and Ray, Kallol and Salzer, Reiner and Schubert, Ulrich and Schueth, Ferdi and Schwarz, Helmut and Schwietzke, Uta and Strey, Reinhard and Stumpf, Thorsten and Vaagt, Franziska and Volodkin, Dmitry and Wilke, Guenther and Zass, Engelbert and Zemb, Thomas}, title = {Awards}, series = {Nachrichten aus der Chemie : Zeitschrift der Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker}, volume = {61}, journal = {Nachrichten aus der Chemie : Zeitschrift der Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker}, number = {11}, publisher = {Ges.
