  abstract  = {From the 1940s well into the 1960s, a new sociocultural constellation let American Jews redefine their relationship to the religious tradition. This article analyzes the response of a religious elite of rabbis and intellectuals to this process, which was driven by various factors. Many American Jews were at least one generation away from traditional Judaism, which seemed out of place in postwar America. Liberal Judaism, with its narrow concept of religion, on the other hand, while fitting a larger social consensus, did not satiate many Jews' spiritual and identity needs. Sensing this deficit, rabbis and other religious thinkers explored broader concepts of Judaism. Religious journals that sprang up in the postwar decades served as vehicles for the attempt to understand Judaism in broader, cultural terms, while preserving a religious core. The article shows how in this search religious thinkers turned to the Eastern European past as a resource. As other groups similarly tried to mine this past for the sake of their present agendas, its reconstruction became a key process in the transformation of postwar American Judaism and its relationship to the tradition.},

  abstract  = {Hans Heinrich Schaeder is considered an important Iranist and historian of religion. For reasons of opportunism, careerism, and anti-Semitic resentment, he used the chance afforded him after the National Socialists seized power in Germany: he combined his historical and philological knowledge with National-Socialist racial ideology. Drawing on the superiority of "Aryanism" he derived from this merger, Schaeder tried to redefine the "Eastern Borders" of "European Culture". In his concept, Armenians and Persians became integral elements of European culture and history, while Jews and "Semites" were excluded. In academia, publishing, and politics, he put himself at the service of the National-Socialist regime. In his own view, this served the struggle against Communism and the West's social system. After the war, a de-Nazification commission concluded that there existed no reservations concerning his employment at G{\"o}ttingen University.},

  abstract  = {El centenario de la publicaci{\´o}n del Curso de ling{\"u}{\´i}stica general (1916) de Saussure nos ha invitado a reexaminar la importancia de esta obra para instaurar una ling{\"u}{\´i}stica integrada en la semiolog{\´i}a. Indudablemente la simplificaci{\´o}n de las ideas de Saussure y la exageraci{\´o}n de su concepto sist{\´e}mico del lenguaje llevadas a cabo por los editores Bally y Sechehaye han contribuido a la acogida exitosa de la obra. En esta contribuci{\´o}n, se propone, primero, introducir el concepto de 'series de textos', antes de analizar una serie "olvidada" y una nueva serie de obras por medio de las cuales se introdujeron conceptos semi{\´o}ticos en la {\´e}poca dominante de la ling{\"u}{\´i}stica hist{\´o}rica.   abstract  = {1850 wurde in Lengsfeld, einer Kleinstadt im Großherzogtum Sachsen-Weimar Eisenach, eine j{\"u}disch-christliche Simultanschule gegr{\"u}ndet. Das Innovative an dieser Schule war, dass sie als Einrichtung in gemeinsamer Tr{\"a}gerschaft der christlichen und j{\"u}dischen Gemeinde konzipiert wurde. Die Schuldeputierten und das Lehrerkollegium setzten sich parit{\"a}tisch aus Juden und Christen zusammen. Dadurch sowie durch die gleichberechtigte Integration der christlichen und j{\"u}dischen Feiertage und des jeweiligen Religionsunterrichts in den Schulplan unterscheidet sich die Lengsfelder Schule fundamental von anderen j{\"u}disch-christlichen Schulen ihrer Zeit. In der vorliegenden Studie wird die Schulgeschichte anhand von Akten konstruiert und in den Zusammenhang der deutsch-j{\"u}dischen Geschichte des 19. und beginnenden 20. Jahrhunderts gestellt. Mithilfe theoretischer {\"U}berlegungen zu Schultypen und Akkulturationskonzepten werden die Schule und ihre Akteure als aufgekl{\"a}rt-reformerisch charakterisiert. Schließlich wird gezeigt, dass und warum die Lengsfelder Schule scheiterte.},
