  abstract  = {Entre las impresiones determinantes que recibi{\´o} el joven Humboldt est{\´a} en primer lugar su relaci{\´o}n con Georg Forster, circunnavigador del mundo, escritor y mas tarde revolucionario. Aqu{\´i} se toca la historia de las relaciones entre ambos subrayando previamente lo que Forster signific{\´o} para Humboldt. Los escritos y la personalidad de Forster lo impactaron emocionalmente; {\´e}l consider{\´o} a Forster como un ejemplo en la observaci{\´o}n y comparaci{\´o}n de fen{\´o}menos geogr{\´a}ficos, naturales y sociales, pero tambi{\´e}n por su tendencia a descubrir leyes; Forster estimul{\´o} a Humboldt incursionar en el campo de ciencias diversas; tambi{\´e}n en el arte de descripci{\´o}n literaria de la naturaleza, del paisaje y sus moradores se sent{\´i}a la influencia de Forster; finalmente, Forster fue uno de los representantes m{\´a}s importantes del pensamiento pol{\´i}tico-ideol{\´o}gico progresista con el cual entr{\´o} en contacto el joven Humboldt y el cual, por su toma de partido en favor de la Revoluci{\´o}n Francesa, as{\´i} como contra la esclavitud y la discriminaci{\´o}n racial, ejerci{\´o} un poderoso influjo sobre {\´e}l. Aunque era inoportuno declararse en favor del jacobino Forster, Humboldt adhiri{\´o} p{\´u}blicamente a su amigo y maestro subrayando su "igual direcci{\´o}n en opiniones pol{\´i}ticas" respecto a Forster.},
