  abstract  = {In this article we analyse main tendencies and trends driving institutional investing in Russia nowadays. Russian specifics of institutional investors market is that historically banks played key role and thus became the largest intermediaries in the financial system. Other institutional investors being insurance companies, pension funds and other mutual funds are still in development stage and have extensive opportunities to grow. However, total assets of non-bank institutional investors in Russia are still lagging behind those of banking sector and, therefore, banks are powerful institutional investors.},

Es geht dabei nicht nur um die quantitativen Kennziffern wie Kredit- und Einlagevolumen, Aktiva, Passiva usw., sondern um die strukturellen Ver{\"a}nderungen, die mit der St{\"a}rkung der Rolle der Staatsbanken verbunden sind. Außerdem wird dabei die Frage der Wettbewerbsf{\"a}higkeit des russischen Banksystems diskutiert.},
